I have not had any contract with this company so far, The company withdrew money from my bank account two days ago, which was a holiday, at four o'clock in the morning, I tried very hard to contact them but no one answered and all their numbers are either blocked or connected to the automatic system and do not connect to the operator.
It is better to be responsible than not to answer, Because there is a law.
I had travel insurance with RAC, They sent me a renewal, and I called them I said I need to have travel insurance for asia and Europe, and within uk, and they told me if I travel in uk for day my gadgets are cover, I broke my phone accidentally while I was getting on the train, called them they tolde I have to be away from home 3 days to be covered, they are are dishonest with customr, RAC Travel Insurance Policy Number RC-MSM-10189139
Never trust RAC.
Worst company ever. We've sold a van and didnt need insurance anymore. The renewal was due in 20 days. Called to tell them to ask them not to renew it. They charged 75£ for cancellation. I didn't want to cancel, just asked NOT to renew. They said this is a legal requirement, and are forcing us to pay 75£. If i had called a week later, there would be no charge. Save yourself the nerves and don't deal with this comany ever.
Had no problem with RAC getting my refund. Nicole who dealt with my claim was very friendly and professional and will be using RAC again. Will recommend
Just been advised that our cover does not include reimbursement due to the government putting Turkey on their non essential travel list and our holiday being cancelled. Apparently this is due to our request not being in the 14 day cooling off period. Difficult when the guidance has only just changed ! RAC wouldn’t even carry the cover over to a new date/destination. Won’t be using RAC Holiday Insurance again, and judging by other comments, I won’t be the only one !
I purchased travel insurance from RAC for a trip to Crete which was cancelled by the travel company. I wrote to RAC and asked if my insurance could be carried over to next year when Covid 19 would hopefully be over. The answerer was No. I was informed it was the underwriters policy which would not allow them to do this. Many other firms are allowing people to carry over travel insurance so I will make sure I use a different company in future.
Had rac travel insurance for holiday in France. Travel company went bust due to covid 19 so I phoned rac to change the insurance for another date. Was told I couldn't change it and couldn't get a refund as I could only get a refund within 14 days of booking. Stay clear of this company, they don't care just want your money.
Booked Travel insurance, RAC good name, we couldn`t go , Covid 19 pandemic, spoke to somebody, should get an answer in 72 hours, that was weeks ago, sent an email, heard nothing, crap customer service, I didn`t ask for a refund, but ,could we move the insurance to another holiday, so RAC, and AA, for me about the same, crap customer service if you want to use them go ahead, I won`t
Unfortunately since my last review my star rating has tumbled. Didn't even get a response from them. I suppose they haven't got the time. Well just noticed that admiral are giving their customers a £25.00 refund, whereas rac will charge you more for less. Well it was short and bitter but come Sept renewal it's "bye bye, should have used the human touch, bye bye, now you won't see me for dust." mark blaxland
