They are a scam company.
They have no intention of honouring agreement(s) and service(s).
I suggest everyone reports them via the two following organisations -
- Financial Ombudsman
- Action fraud uk
If enough people report them the director who seems to be the main person scamming; he will be ultimately be investigated. You can find the directors name listed on companies house.

These guys manage to diagnose the problem and say that it is outside of their cover after a few minutes on the phone :)

Pex & Nova direct is run by the same people. Should be ashamed as they are rude and unprofessional. If you buy any insurance forget about the claim as they have so many exclusions that you won’t be able to claim it. They lied into my face and I have ongoing case against them with Ombudsman.

Shocking company happy to take your money but the second you need then they won’t help you I broke down on my way home from work at about 11pm has I only work 10 minutes drive from my local garage I dropped my car off there and walked home rang pex to make a claim and because it had gone 6 hours from the time of my brake down they said they won’t do anything

Believe all the reviews on here. I had mobile phone insurance and a similar experience to all the one star reviews on here. I'm extremely disappointed that companies like this are allowed to exist.

Crooks. Simple as. They will make things up to increase your premium and then charge you a hefty cancellation fee if you don’t accept the increase. So either way they profit off you.
They will then make it as hard as humanly possible to receive any sort of refund.
I still haven’t revived my refund, so I’ll be going to the financial ombudsman and/or court.
Absolute criminals, flat out lie to you about your claim to find reasons to reject it.
Remember to go to the Financial Ombudsman to get your money back because there is no chance that PEX will give it to you willingly.
Absolutely shocking!!!!! Please do not insurance anything with this company!! Total scammers!!!
I broke down on the motorway (M5) at past 10:30pm on 10 April 2022 and called Pex Insure. They immediately refused to help me saying "you are 7 miles away from home" when I actually bought a nationwide breakdown. When they realised their error they said I must pay £40 for the callout! when I asked why they kept saying "it's in your terms and conditions" ( I had it on my phone and there is no mention any where of £40 for every call out). She said very rudely, that if I don't pay the money then she can't help me. It was getting to midnight, pitch dark, 2 degrees outside.
They were very arrogant, dubious, uncaring, unfair, and unempathetic. PEX Inure/Nova Direct is misleading, have lots of hidden charges, rude customer service, disrespectful and uncourteous. They even dared me to go and report to Trust Pilot. She made a mockery of me and asked me if I was in the United Kingdom! She lied and gave the breakdown recovery company a wrong address (address of a gymn in Bristol) far away from where I broke down near Weston Super-mare.
Why do the regulators allow such companies with such terrible conning people to exist?
Avoid At all cost,
Scammer, scammer scammer
this is a scam.
I recently purchased insurance from this company and cancelled it before I started using the car. I am still waiting for my refund, and there is no wait to talk to a person after paying a cancellation fee separately. They sent me an email saying they would contact me in 8 weeks, and I have been waiting for 12 weeks now, and I have been emailing and trying their number no response from them.
scam , Scam

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY I bought some car breakdown with this company(nova and pex are the same) and added some car key replacement as an addition when I lost my key they gave me a list of things I had to do and forms to fill in at the end they just ignored my correspondence, I would hate to breakdown and rely on them AVOID at all costs
Do not get if you live in Northern Ireland!
Broke down today en route to our MOT appointment (ironic, huh) and they wouldn’t rescue us from a smoking car on the hard-shoulder because “didn’t have a valid MOT certificate”.
We explained the situation in NI is slightly different to the rest of the UK in how MOTs are carried out, and that due to the covid-induced backlog of available MOTs throughout the land you have to book months beyond when your MOT certificate expires, but that the government allowed it and Police wouldn’t fine you if you could prove your appointment was booked.
We spoke with Dean who was less than useful of consoling or apologetic but just kept repeating the same phrase and left us to smoke on the hard shoulder.
They did send an automated text shortly after the phone call with details of a “local” recovery service, who, upon inspection turned out to be nowhere near us.
Terrible service and will be asking for the insurance money back AND sending them the recovery truck bill.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
BE WARNED.
NOT BREAKDOWN COVER.
ON BREAKING DOWN THEY CON YOU INTO ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE (NOT RECOVERY) IF DOESNT WORK THEY THEN WONT RECOVER YOU AND SAY ITS YIOUR FAULT FOR ASKING FOR ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE.
AFTER HOURS ON SIDE OF ROAD WAITING ON THERE PHONE LINES THEY ARE RUDE, INCONSIDERATE CON ARTISTS.
COMPLAINTS WASTE OF TIME. COST ME A WHOLE DAY ON THE ROAD AND £200 IN RECOVERY ELSEWHERE

Terrible experience, Sent in my claim a week ago and I have not heard anything back. I then called in, it took me 1 hour and 30mins to speak to someone just to be told I had to email in again. I emailed again still nothing. Seems like a big scam and these sorts of companies will just close and reopen under another game. Word of advice go for a established company not these cowboys.
Oh my word, where do I start.... STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMERS.... Got stranded today on the hard shoulder and lovely Kelly if that's even her real name had the chickiness to tell me that my car it's still drivable and needs topping up with oil, I've explained her that the car can't be driven anymore as it does a funny engine noise and it stops immediately but she wouldn't listen to me and hung up on me. Several calls later I've asked to speak to a manager only to be told the same thing and hanging up on me. Eventually I got hold of the manager but I think it was still her and she put me on wait when I told her that I want to put on a new claim and then never got back to me. They are a bunch of liers and will find any excuse to get rid of you and not help you. I've ended up making a complaint against her, cancelling my policy and making another policy with RAC but that came to a cost of £380.00 also I'm going to take it to the ombudsman as soon as they reply to the complaint as this service its ATROCIOUS. I'm surprised this scammers are allowed to operate within the UK industry, shame on zego for dealing with them. STAY AWAY PEOPLE PLEASE.. Find an established company even if it costs a little bit more but will worth every penny. By the way I've stayed on the hard shoulder for 7:30 hours but they didn't care not 1 bit.... SCAMMERS.

Do not waste your money on this company.
I have been left broken down partially blocking a school entrance and they refused to come out .I took me 25 mins to get through to them and another 15 mins worth of questions to verify me!!! They will then use any excuse to not come out.I am going to the Ombudsman
After breaking down on the M6 at night in the rain with two kids in the car, we called this company with whom we had breakdown cover. First we were presented with a bewildering menu system to report the event and then upon painstakingly navigating it were on hold for 20 minutes with HGV'S whistling past the stranded vehicle. The rather laid back advisor then took us through a lengthy list of questions for what seemed like an age then placed us on hold for a further 10 minutes before advising us that the claim was 'denied' because I'd said that the car was juddering when I tried to restart it!? My begging for help led to a flippant dismissal. We were in blind panic and had to pay StartRescue £120 to come out. Please be aware these are undoubtedly scammers and this experience could have resulted in tragedy. I implore you however their offer is cheap steer well clear of them.
A front for nova-direct and call handler for all your claims. They don't care if you are stuck in middle of nowhere they will find some loophole to refuse your claim.
PEX Insure/Nova Direct.
I had breakdown cover, a drive belt pulley bearing seized and the drive belt tore up, snapped, and came off.
The car started overheating as the water pump was no longer working (or the alternator, power steering), the dash lights up and says pull over now!!. I phone up for a tow to a garage, they say as the car will start and "move backwards and forwards" I cannot claim, the car was totally dangerous and undrivable without risking blowing the engine! Not good enough they refused to help. Terrible why are the Police not interested in these fraudsters? NEVER go with these low lifes!!! -5 stars if I could
OMG! Stay WELL clear! ...
Worst experience of your life !
I bought a mobile phone for NICE Samsung phone on line for £1000.00 so I thought it would be a good idea to protect such an investment!
Boy did I think wrong!?
The phone was bought , and I thought protected .
13 months later ... I made a claim , for accidental damage , sent in pictures ect.
They asked for a LIST of evidence as if it was a murder investigation (?).
This was above and beyond a reasonable amount of information as a customer to provide an insurance company , who obviously expects you to give up! after reading the long but not exhauste list of evidence that's needed to be provided.
1. Proof of purchase from over a year ago ( like that's a thing(?)
2. Two quotations of repairs ( Writen by the shop owner on a letter , on their headed paper, they know how reluctant shop owners are to do this , they get asked for quotes daily) the quotes were around £250
, it was mearly a quarter of the damage of a phone. They all prefer to sign off on a card what their quotes are.
3. Proof you are on a the phone at the time , by a SPECIFICALLY WORDED LETTER on headed paper, in YOUR time to chase up , along with your real life priorities.
4. Proof you were using the phone at the time providing the network provider " EE" in my case, ( but won't except screen shoots (?) Because its harder to see a plain photo this way that can be quicker and easier from your phone right people? )
5.Proof that its broken with pictures , ( the pictures were alledged weren't good enough,
it was illeged taken in the day , it was hard to see a crack , on a screen , in the DAYTIME I was asked to take more.
5. Check mend report - which is an ADDITIONAL PURCHASE by the way as a report , you will have to make ON TOP of the years Insurance you already paid up for right (?) , rude (?) Coz that's normal(?)
6. Validate your phone (?) What this means is inside the first 2 weeks of a purchase from 13 months ago you needed to VALIDATE your phone is NOT damaged (?) BECAUSE that's what we do right guys 😏 buy, an ALREADY DAMAGED PHONE(!?)to use for a year . Who knows to do this (?), you buy Insurance , it's insured, should be job done its, Right? (?) Any other companies pass on previous information on from other companies , it's not my job to do their job (?).
7. Description of accident , this was not an exhaustive list... by any means .. but usually if you've insured your phone for ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE , you would imagine the description inclusive of your phone being accidentally damaged, what an intentionall time consuming, load of nonsense seemingly.
* I got accused of after 3 months being a little irritable (?) , shocker(?)
* I got accused by the complaints manager by not providing evidence at the start that I could of been intentionally bring fraudulent (?) I mean Wow??
* It's still not resolved after 3 months...
* They also tried to blame me for the prolonging saying something like " any delays were my fault " ... honestly steer clear, an absolutely disgusting customer service team.
Then had the audacity to offer £75!? A third of the actual cost, which is an absolute outrage! and they should be ashamed of themselves.. But obviously, they do not show any form of care ..
