After waiting on hold for over an hour I was transferred and that was another hour on hold. And after wasting my entire morning they suggested I call my insurance company and my phone provider and have them change their billing dates. Customer service with pcfinancial is the worst.
Very Poor Customer Service
I recently applied for a PC Financial Mastercard and was thrilled I was approved. I received a email advising I had been approved, a second email stating that the card had been sent and two emails advising me to activate the card. I have not received the card and it has been 2 weeks since I received confirmation I was approved. That aside, I also have a PC financial money account. I have not used this account for a few years and assumed it was closed due to inactivity, I lost the card or it was damaged, I can’t recall the exact details. At the time, I went online and ordered a new one. It never came. I recall that I tried to contact PC financial by phone but lost my patience trying to get through to a real person. Fast forward to the present. I got an email in March saying they were sending a new debit card and to confirm my address by accessing my online banking. I tried multiple times but have forgotten my username and cannot retrieve my username without a card number. So here’s where it gets frustrating, I phoned to get this sorted out two days ago - easily spent an hour on the phone between being on hold, navigating the automated system and then finally taking to a representative who then forwarded me to the risk management department. I waited on hold to talk to the risk managment person, explained my situation, he took a bunch of information and then said he would call me right back. I did not receive a call, This may be my fault as I was in my car and though I was not driving did have the do not disturb when driving feature activated. I disabled it and then waited 40 minutes but received no call. I tried calling back the next day and when I finally got through to the representative and explained what happened she was very rude in saying that the risk management person did call but I didn’t answer. After answering numerous questions (I had previously answered on my last calls) I was reconnected me to the risk management department again. I began explaining what I needed only to be cut off before I got through my first sentence. They hung up or I was disconnected. So rather than phoning again, I followed up with an email. 24 hours later it has not been returned. So I have no Mastercard after 2 weeks and 2 phone calls later have no resolve regarding my online account access. Today, I received another email stating that a new debit card been mailed and to make sure activate it. I don’t know if there is a mistake on my address because during all of this I was never once asked to confirm my address. I shop frequently at No Frills and superstore and would like to use the PC financial products but honestly I have never encountered a company that it is so difficult to resolve a problem. PC Financial needs to improve their customer service as it is pretty poor.
Update: I called again and spent over an hour on the phone getting transferred to different representatives. I ended up talking to someone in the fraud ??department who was able to restore access to my online account. My address was incomplete so he was able to update it and advised that a new MC and bank card would be sent out and arrive in 7-10 days. The credit card arrived in 7 days, I have not yet received the bank card but hoping it is on its way as well. It took a bit of patience to get things sorted but the last rep I spoke to was very helpful.

My online access to my account is locked. I don't know why it got locked in the first place? I've done the same thing for years.
When calling customer service, there are no real people working there anymore?? Did they get rid of that service? If I could unlock my account online I would but all the chatbot says, if you have tried 3x then customer service will be unable to help you for 2 hours!! Try 3+months of trying to get through!!

Had surgery about a year ago
Had surgery about a year ago, ran off of funds and just started getting better about a month ago, trying to get back to work! Had a couple of thousand on the card and phoned and told them the situation and asked if they could put a hold on a payment until Mid May as I had no income left! I had a high credit score and now it's dropped to nothing as they just keep adding interest and have also reported it to the credit bureau.
Lousy greedy bunch of low life worms, "worms have a use" they bait hooks for fish! PC just robs and does nothing but take.

Really a very bad financial institution. Looks like they don't have enough assets or something. Very tight on money. Paid off their credit card fully over $15000 & next day they reduce limit by $8000. Who does that?? Not that I'll need to use it right away but it shows how unthankful they are for my business. It's just annoying & I won't go to them ever for any bigger business ever. I've had other cards actually raised my limits on payment but these guys culture is ignorant. & then i get emails from their CEO telling how they support my business & keep grocery prices low. Liars!! We should boycott their companies like loblaws etc.

Called on 10-Apr-2025 @ ~10:00, took a long time from the auto-assistant to a 'real person'. Told the person what the issue I'm having, she need to ask someone else to help, put me on-hold after a LONG WHILE I got disconnected!! Called back and go through the same routine again; This person no help at all with the issue I'm having, after a long while I had to end the call and said 'thank-you'! at this point it is around 11:25.

I've been their costumer (before they sold it to CIBC) for many years and was satisfied till now. If you have business or you have to handle larger sums this is not the bank for you. Ridiculously low day/month limits even for transferring money from spending acc. to savings acc. I complained many times and got only automated email "We received your complain..." a did nothing.
This morning I wanted to pay my Income and property Taxes and couldn't do it "over the the daily/monthly limits". Explain that C.R.A or Municipality?! This year would take me two months to pay Taxes with their limits. Highly unprofessional.
Please note, day of experience is approximate, it's being ongoing for some time.
Moving my money to REAL Bank.
Update: I just finished conversation with supervisor and he couldn't do anything about that. THEY ARE THE (MIGHTY) ONE to limit how much you pay Taxes and your bills. Now I feel like a mouse in a trap.
PC Financial problems
Today my PC account was not receiving e-transfers,… I was receiving a transfer to cover a business expense and was unable to cover the cost as the money budgeted was sitting in cyberspace. I DID NOT receive notice that maintenance was going on and when I tried to call PC Financial the virtual assistant was unable to help connect me to a human which created even more frustration. This has cost a delay in opening my business and my level of frustration is off the charts as there was no way to contact a human to speak with. If I could rate them below one star I would. I do not recommend this bank as the issue with receiving e-transfers with auto deposit set up has happened previously. They seem incapable of correcting this problem. I gave them a chance to resolve the issue once before but when my money is deposited within a few days I am finished with these people. No service fees is not worth a weeks worth of lost wages and I don’t expect anyone to contact me so I’ll leave my review instead and move on from PC Financial as soon as my money finds its way to my account.

This is a follow-up from a one star review I gave on Mar 10.
I'm learning where their blindspots are and giving them a chance...seeing if I can work WITH them. They do, afterall, still have the best current interest rates going.
So IF YOU'RE PAYING your bills, automatically: make sure you deposit your funds into your non-saving / chequing account 24 hours in advance. Their system can't handle same day transfers and payments.
ALSO if you transfer funds in from another bank don't be surprised when, after the initial hold is released, everything disappears, deposit trail wise. You WON'T see your funds in the account you sent them to NOR will will see any 'on hold' message. Kinda scarey. BUT, they've apparently got a blind spot in their system that occurs on the day the funds are released and ready to be deposited. For most, or all of that day, you won't see your funds anywhere, nor do they give you any message that the funds are 'pending.' It's a yech experience, but the funds do come though after 10:00 pm. or so that night.

Ridiculous service , took 2 hrs to pick up a call and even show no courtesy, and special they trap on interest charges, I just paid my full amount of bill but they charge me with additional interest charge on next billing cycle and said it’s carry forward charge which is insane, if it is carry forward charges then it should shown in bill every month I have not paid full amount , and the person was saying there are two types of charges, so if there are two type of charges then they must shown on bill, total frustrating ruined my day with them . Horrible ! It takes FIVE BISINESS DAYS to transfer money between linked account and PC Money account. I assumed I cancelled this request but it was not cancelled and they overdrawn my Simplii account and I had to pay NSF fee $45. Also they show now zero balance at my PC Financial acct although it had positive balance there before. I am on the phone for almost an hour waiting now. Stay away from this idiotic so called banking !

If I could give 0 stars I would. Never and I mean never use this bank. They will hold your own money hostage and make all your payments bounce and you will end up having to borrow money because they will deny you access to your own bank and money. This should be illegal and I'm not sure how they haven't been sued already because what they do here is criminal. They said they wouldn't give me access back to my bank unless they could call me on my phone number link to my account which I got a new phone and wouldn't be possible but they said sorry they can't help. I went out of my way to get that number back from Bell so they could call me on it but then they would make up another excuse for something else so they couldn't unlock my account. This has to be even worse then the Mafia dealing with these people. One lady even hung up on me when she said I can't get MY money back from MY bank. Do yourselfs the biggest favor and never ever ever ever get this bank, it says free but it's a prison sentence when you sign up.
