I am unimpressed by the recent reduction in distribution rate for Premium Bonds. Sends the wrong message to investors. The fixed term Savings Bond rates are also not very competitive.

NIGHTMARE
Trying to buy more bonds has been an absolute nightmare and unsuccessful. Your do it through the bank thing which you have is RUBBISH. I presume when I bought my first ones in April I just used my bank card and it all went well. IF IT ISN'T BROKEN DON'T FIX IT. So then I tried bank transfer instead and after putting the details in my app it said that, that item ( NS&I ) does not exist at which point I gave up without any more bonds. This site is quite easy to use
This site is quite easy to use. I feel my money is safe here and I can easily check how much I have in my account. It is straightforward to put money into and out of the account. Money taken out is in my account in about 5 days.
Nothing good to say
It's impossible to say anything good about NS&I premium bonds. Bureaucracy, delays, chatbots, delays, letter-writing, delays, multiple-level security checks endlessly repeated, more delays, delays, delays, and extra bureaucracy at every turn, just for good measure.
After 16 years of regular savings by my parents on behalf of my children, the children are now required to manage their own accounts. They (with our support) have spent HOURS on the phone trying to verify identity and address. They wish to withdraw the savings and have spent HOURS more on the phone going through security protocols over and over and over again to eventually receive confirmation that the funds would be paid out within the next 5 working days (why so long?). Just when we thought it was all finally over, we received a call saying the transaction could not be processed due to "unusual activity" on the account. Another extensive round of unanswered phonecalls, and my child is no closer to receiving his money.
As if this is not frustrating enough, the complaints procedure is the same: impossible to reach a human being, phones on endless hold, more verification, more security, more delays, need to talk to a different department, and so the merry-go-round begins again.
Almost faultless
Like any good website, you hardly notice you are there, there's nothing to remember and therefore it went well. But using the app, rather than on the desktop, I find I cannot get into the details of premium bonds and previous wins. This seems to be only available from the desktop.
Disgusting
Disgusting, held my money that I literally just deposited until after the next draw ( Premium bonds) which I wasn't eligible for anyway because the money must be held for a full calendar month.

Diminishing returns and poor service
After months of diminishing returns I decided to withdraw some money to invest it in an ISA before the end of the tax year. However it took so long for the process to take place, bearing in mind we live in an age of virtually instant bank transfers, that I missed the deadline. Not impressed. Also not impressed with the diminishing returns here - I would make much more money elsewhere and it would be guaranteed. However I probably wouldn’t have mentioned it if I hadn’t have been hounded for a review.
