Nanit says that you can use the camera without an "insights plan" subscription. However, during setup, the final step is to activate the camera by signing up for a plan. There is no option to act... Mehr ansehen

Do not buy this product

Do not buy this product. All the features are amazing, but it cannot reliable do the one thing it’s supposed to, which is reliably connect, stay connected and when you go back on the app, be able to connect. I have had numerous conversations about settings with Nanit, and I have a normal house and wifi router, yet this product is as reliable as a russian military logistics company.

WASTE OF MONEY
If I had read these reviews before I would have stayed away from this product. Because I experienced the same problems worst camera system ever. Never had it working properly always loosing connection got the camera changed again same problem. Decide to sell it on eBay thinking I might have bad connection thats causing problem. The product was returned because same problems happened.
I paid over £350 for the camera wasted my money bought another camera for £100 Motorola done the job perfect. So please don’t waste your money on nanit.

Amazing piece of technology.... when it works.... which is not often

Frustrating that the hardware and concept is excellent, but the software (which should be the easiest part in 2022..) is awful. A constant loop of closing/reopening/force-closing the app, pairing/repairing the camera, resetting router, spinning wheel of death in the app, buffering video, audio cutting out. Not reliable enough to work in the real world.

If it works (which isn't often)

If it works, (which isn't often) it's great.

Constantly struggling to find signal on android and apple app.

Pointless using with an echo show as it is forever buffering.

I've lost count of how many times I've had reset my router to try and get this thing to work.

Spend your money elsewhere.

Awful. Unsafe. Avoid!!

This product is awful. Yes, they have some great tech in the app and a great quality camera, but it fails at its basic function. The notifications are sporadic - sometimes I’m notified of sound and movement, other times I am not. The camera does not work on the Alexa show, at all! It might do for a few minutes and then it just says buffering on the screen - there is no warning to let you know it’s stopped working, it’s just silent so you are left assuming your baby is sound asleep until you notice it is buffering. So so unsafe it’s scary. And not at all reliable - so basically a useless product. It works better as background sound on your phone - more reliable - but drains your battery. Last night my baby cried for 2 hours without us knowing. The Alexa was buffering (of course) and my phone (which was playing the Nanit sound) had died despite being on charge. You can imagine how we felt when my partner woke to go to the bathroom and heard the crying (we are on a different floor so not easily heard without a monitor). Don’t waste your money!

I’m so upset w the customer service of…

I’m so upset w the customer service of this product. I wanted so badly to like this product. My nanny and I tested the red alert to make sure it would go off of the baby was not breathing for longer than :20 seconds. It went off 10 min later. I called customer service and was on hold for 38 minutes. The owlet has amazing customer service. Better product. It’s a shame especially at close to $400 price point this product does not have a team that supports it.

Avoid - Spend your money elsewhere.

I ordered a camera with a wall mount, by mistake when I should have ordered the floor stand. I contacted customer service who said they would send a courier to collect the wall stand & send out a floor stand instead. We were happy to pay the difference in price. It should be noted that it took several phone calls & chasing to get to this point.

A month later & nothing has happened. I have constantly chased this company to try and get the item collected & the correct one issued. Every time they claim they are going to do something, they don't do it (call backs, emails, any type of contact)

They are unresponsive to emails. They are unresponsive to their support ticket system. They are unresponsive to phone calls. I have all but given up on my £250+ camera purchase.

It is impossible to contact this company from the UK. If you call their number, you get through to a 'support' team in the USA. They will tell you "I will escalate this to the UK team". There isn't a UK team, as I later learned. The 'UK team' are senior people within their sales team. Who also, do absolutely nothing.

It is impossible to speak to the customer support team within normal UK working hours. I believe they are based in New York, so the earliest you'll get to speak to anyone, if you're lucky enough to get through, is sometime in the afternoon, UK time.

It is absolutely appalling that a camera system with a price tag like Nanit has, are unable to offer basic customer service to the UK market.

I am now in the process of opening a dispute with my credit card company to claim the money back as Nanit are unwilling to do anything or respond in ANY fashion.

If you are from the UK and you are reading this - I would strongly advise you from buying from this company. If you are unlucky enough to have a device fail 6 months in to your purchase, you might as well throw it in the bin given the level of customer service they offer their customers.

If you are from Nanit and you are reading this - you should withdraw from the UK market as it is clear to see from my experience, and others that you are not equipped in any measure to serve customers. You are taking money from people without the structure in place to support them.

Great when it works, which isn't often

This thing was awesome when we first set it up - good picture quality, alerts, insights

However, after a few weeks it would just stop working intermittently for the next few weeks which requires you to restart/reset all the time (which isn't easy with a sleeping baby). And now even after restarts/resets it doesn't work at all. Unfortunately customer support is horrendous - we've called them 3 times and after troubleshooting they claimed to send us a new one which never showed up. Now they do not answer any of our support emails, so we're stuck. So don't buy unless you're willing to risk wasting money!

Let down camera, feels like a scam of a company

We bought their camera for our first born at the Baby Show in London and we absolutely loved it when it first was set up. However £380 and 4 months later and it has completely stopped working and will not connect. The customer service is shocking which is actually a compliment as they don’t get back to you and when they do they fob you off with “it is your connection” or “you must have other cameras causing interference” which was all rubbish! I even brought the camera to my dads to test it on his network and exactly the same happened. It’s a shame as the idea is brilliant, but they are putting your baby’s safety in jeopardy as it disconnects within 30 seconds and won’t reconnect at all but it doesn’t even alert you that it has disconnected. I would go as far as saying this company is a scam from the pure lack of support once they have your money.

Camera I brought was faulty out the box, terrible customer service, can’t get hold of them got a response after 5 emails two weeks later asking if I still had the same problem. In this time the camera has completely stopped working doesn’t even turn on as one of the connecting power pins has fallen off! Sent a scathing email requesting a refund, after another 2 weeks I was sent a reply denying my requests and asking me to do some steps to fix it. I’ve had a month to try every single troubleshooting fix which I explained in the email. Biggest waste of money I have ever spent! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Low quality products

Low quality products, "customer service" just providing an endless loop of "fixes" instead of taking responsibility for their faulty products.
And continuous spam emails although I've asked them to remove me from their list many times.

Not a good experience at all.
