Garbage Customer Support

They rather loose the entire sale then refund $25 for shipping charges when they are taking over 2 weeks to get the products out. Well done Caroline.

Sounds need to be regulated more easily.

I have been with the Nanit for 1 month, and I am kind of happy with it, but I am writing this review to please ask the company to make easier to turn the volume of the white sound, birds, etc.

Please put + and - options so it can be regulated more easily, now it is difficult to turn it just a bit up or down. It can be very messy, please update this now.

ATROCIOUS customer service

The Nanit customer service is so pathetic and atrocious and clearly outsourced. I've been Calling back numerous times, on hold for at least 20+ minutes each time -- only to be told that they will "forward my issue to the tech team." Then you have to wait for them to email you back - they don't call you so impossible to actually get real-time tech help.

Buyers Beware: this is a $399 Live Camera!

I’ll start with the positives: The camera itself is fantastic quality and the app easy to use. When you have basic features like being able to view little clips and see how long baby has been sleeping for, it was worth the money for me.
I used to be a big supporter of this company and the products they sold. But now it seems without buying a subscription ($150-$400/year!!!), it is essentially a $399 live camera. We had access to the features in the beginning and it was fantastic. But then we were told we needed to buy a subscription. Absolutely pathetic to expect parents to pay this kind of money! Without a subscription it doesn’t even bother to tell you how long your baby has been sleeping for. It’s almost laughable. I will be recommending this to nobody. In fact I will be recommending people do not buy and instead buy a $50 monitor on Amazon that does the same thing Nanit does, without a subscription. Very disappointing!

Brought for the breathing band monitoring, and now they will only let you use that function if you pay them £100 extra A YEAR. Absolutely fuming at the audacity of this company.

THE WORST customer service ever. Do not buy

Ordered a Nanit baby monitor off a Babylist registry. People! Babylist! TAKE THEM OFF YOUR LISTS. It is two weeks later, and after spending hundreds of dollars, we have no idea where is the baby monitor. There is NO customer service -- you'll spend 40 minuites on hold waiting for a rep overseas each of whom tells you a different story. Email them and you'll be an obsequious response from people who have no idea what's going on. I've heard "the swivel base is out of stock" "the warehouse is dong inventory" "your unit is on its way [no tracking #] "the monitors are backordered." NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING AND THERE'S NO ACCOUNTABILITY. I'm afraid if we got the thing and had a problem, there would be no accountability then either. DON'T USE NANIT.

Terrible customer service

The nanit camera itself is good (although the insights are often wrong - e.g. saying he is asleep when he is sitting up!). The customer service however is HORRENDOUS. It is impossible to reach anyone by phone and I have had no response to multiple emails. Currently my nanit is not working at all. If you had asked me a week ago, I would have sayd 4/5 stars but once it stops working, it seems there is nothing you can do... Given the expense, and subscription model, I would expect better customer service.

Great Product, but no way to repair it

I bought my Nanit in 2019. It's a great product, but they simply do not offer a repairing service. When it works, it's great. But once you have any technical problem and it stops working, there's no way you can have it repaired.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's very expensive and if you have any problem (temperature/humidity innacuracy, voice doesn't go through, music doesn't play, the camera does not connect to any wi-fi anymore), yoy cannot have it repaired or changed.

It's a pity, really. I've tried different repairing options. I even sent it back to US, from where I bought it, and no company repairs it, including Nanit itself.

Do not purchase if you are outside of…

Do not purchase if you are outside of US, UK or Canada! As they will not support warranty claims as they don't send replacements to anyone outside of these countries. Ours was purchased through Amazon store by my mum as a baby shower gift. The travel stand has broken within the warranty period however they won't send a replacement to Australia. No where did it ever state while purchasing that warranty claims won't be honoured outside of the aforementioned countries. Imagine if the whole thing stopped working - would be over $450 down the drain. And that has happened to someone from within Australia reviewing on Amazon.

Camera is trash w/o monthly premium

This camera is decent but as soon as your free (1 year) subscription expires, you are almost forced to get the subscription if you want to use the camera. Our premium subscription expired and now the footage lags heavily and goes in and out all night. Which defeats the purpose. It keeps us up worrying that the camera lost connection. Wish we would have known and gone with a less expensive camera without a monthly premium.

Do not buy a Nanit. Ton of better options.

Decent camera but everything else is awful. Software is inaccurate (sleep and awake are way off when compared to real time video streams from another camera), non stop up sell notifications, totally unusable to track a night of sleep without additional monthly subscription to get “insights” and limited video history. Switched to a nest cam and would highly recommend. Nanit is new parent exploitation, do not buy this.

An absolute joke of a company. They charge a high premium for insights that are not correct. You can never get through to a human. I am so so angry at myself for buying this piece of garbage. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Do not buy this if you’re having twins

Do not buy this if you’re having twins. I don’t mind buying two separate cameras but then you have to pay for TWO separate memberships. I was shocked. The cameras are already so expensive, and I don’t mind paying for one membership to have more people be able to monitor the babies, but paying for two separate memberships is really disappointing.

Having had the nanit for 6 months now

Having had the nanit for 6 months now, I really couldn’t be without it. There are a few things that could improve it, like the app being a be it quicker, but it’s only when I’ve seen other monitors that I realise how spoilt I’ve been with the Nanit. I really love it. Worth the money!

Not made for UK guidelines - unsafe - pls don't buy

I have used this product for 15 months now and I'm so gutted that we wasted so much money on it. It is an extraordinarily expensive bit of kit so I would expect it to work perfectly. It does not work perfectly in the slightest. It certainly is not set up for the UK and the guidance you should follow set out by the NHS.

1. If you want to use the white noise feature on this device (which I did and we paid for this product so we didn't have to buy a separate machine) it will not detect any other noise. So if your using white noise and your baby cries it will not alert you to your baby crying.
2. Many of the safety features do not work if you have not got the nanit on the floor or wall mounted stands. When our daughter was new born we had her in a crib in our bedroom for the first 6 months as per the NHS guidelines. We had the wall mounted stand in her nursery. And used the travel stand in our room. Please be aware that none of the breathing tech works on the travel stand. So you have a glorified baby monitor that you paid 3times the price of everything else on the market for. I'm not sure how the breathing tech works on the wall mounted stand as we never got to use it as after 6 months your worries about SIDS dramatically reduces and our LO was now l too big for the swaddle and breathing bands
3. The connection on it is dodgy at best
4. The yearly subscription is a disgusting way to eek more money out of safety conscious parents. The only good features of the nanit require you to have the insights subscription and given the initial cost of the machine I think it's a joke to continue to charge people for the things that make this item more than a regular baby monitor.
5. You can only have 2 people connect to the nanit once the subscription runs out. Fortunately for us we don't often have anyone care for our LO. But when we do we have to go through the very arduous task of taking one of the parents access away and setting up a grandparent/aunt - when you're rushing to leave to go out for the evening you don't want to be messing about with the rigmarole of making sure that the babysitter can access the baby monitor!! When you have the first year of insights it's better as you can have a few people extra set up so you don't have to mess around when you have a babysitter as much but when that feature goes it's a real pain. The baby sitter has to register etc etc. It's not a quick process. I suggest for the ridiculous cost, nanit provide a screen so that anyone caring for the baby can view the baby and it is not just using a mobile phone/device.

I cannot express how much I urge you not to buy this product. It's the only thing I regret buying for my LO. Nanit's customer service is absolutely shocking - they simply don't care.

This product is unsafe if you are following UK guidelines.

Can't use it. Avoid, buy another brand

I was extremely keen on it and spent a sizeable amount of money on all the different options. Preordered the monitor 4 months before birth.
Now I can't use it because we had a baby with 2.66kg which is under the nanit capabilities.
Swadle for a baby this small that rolls in a recovery position also not an option (baby can roll on its stomach as an accident in the swadle)

I have even asked their support if there is anything I can do to use the monitor when I need it most. They came up empty.

I recommend to buy another brand as I did

Don't waste your money.. its a glorified over priced camera with and expensive yearly subscription

Once the yearly subscription runs out and you do not pay you have an over priced basic camera. My husband really wanted this camera and I didn't want to spent the moneys as it seemed very expensive, but we wanted to know what time our son was waking up as we use awake windows for nap and bed times. Some mornings he was waking up and just laying there or sitting up and wouldn't cry out for us. This lead to thinking he had just woke up and missing wake windows. So this was great for us. But after already spending so much after a year we are now back at the same issues.. how long has our son been awake as they have taken these insights away along with all our video memories :(

I was very worried about the picture quality as I could not see my sons belly moving up and down to see of he was still breathing like our last camera. But that's ok, they sell a band at an additional cost. I wish I saved our money and stuck with our old camera which was so much clearer. I certainly would never have purchased this had I of known the insights only lasted a year. You sound have thought they would atleast have kept your memories. Especially as you paid for this.
It wasn't ever the most accurate either. It would report insights that would be correct. Like our son was taken out of bed asleep, or the camera by frozen and shoe a photo of our son sleeping yet he be sitting up calling for us. Do yourself a favour do not waste yoir money
