Ordered stairlift paid over £1775 never heard anything

Ordered stairlift paid over £1775 in deposit over phone, money came out straight away, but a week later still no email to say I have paid, no phone calls to arrange appointment. Cancelled my contract now waiting on refund. Paid by credit card so if not refunded on time will contact bank.
Very disappointed, sales man was good but let down after. We have all phone calls recorded as well.
13/10 25, called customer service as told to, no call back, no help, no response, no refund.
Please save yourself from the hassle of dealing with this company. 3 emails now sent still no reply.

Darren came to assess for a stairlift…

Darren came to assess for a stairlift that we needed. From the outset Darren was warm friendly and very helpful. Darren gave me all the information and support and discussed safety issues and put my mind at ease helping me come to an informed decision. I was very happy with employing the company to fit my stairlift and they are coming in a few days what a relief!

Simon Hazael was excellent and thorough

Simon Hazael was efficient, friendly and very knowledgable. He didn't overwhelm us with technology but covered the things we needed to know and answered all our questions. He also didn't oversell the things Mum didn't need. We were very happy to make a decision to go ahead with My Mobility UK. Very professional and Tall!

Utterly jarring and awful experience…

Utterly jarring and awful experience with a consultant from this company. He was incredibly rude to my mum and incredibly patronising. If this is who they are sending out to homes, I’d advise avoiding them at all costs.

stay clear of this company after our experiance

I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding the stairlift we purchased from you on 29th July for my parents. We urgently needed this due to my father breaking his hip and being in hospital at the time, and while I appreciated the speed of installation, the product since then has been unacceptable.
Issues with the Stairlift
• The stairlift broke down on the very same day it was installed.
• I contacted your office, and while customer services were helpful and engineers attended promptly, the machine continued to develop faults throughout the first week which continued and is still faulty to this day 08/09/25
• On one occasion, it broke down with my mother stuck halfway up, and on another, the chair swivel broke at the top, leaving my father unable to get off safely.
• Multiple faults followed, including the remote controls repeatedly failing. Motor Being Replaced, Chair Being replaced, Foot rest being replaced, Remotes still broken today
• The stairlift itself also appeared very old and not fit for purpose, despite being sold as reconditioned.
• Throughout this, I dealt with your engineer, Paddy, and later with Mitch. Both were initially understanding of my parents’ vulnerable situation. Mitch assured me that if the issues could not be resolved, the stairlift would be collected, and a refund or replacement provided.
• Paddy went on holiday for a week, and during this time the stairlift seemed to work. However, on his return, he texted asking for the balance of payment. This was the first correspondence I had received about payment, and due to my mother being admitted to hospital that weekend, I was unable to respond immediately.
• When I did reply, I explained the delay and again highlighted the problems with the remotes. I also made it clear that my parents had lost confidence in the machine and wanted it removed.

This is where the situation escalated:
• Despite Mitch agreeing to personally assess the situation next week, Paddy turned up unannounced at my parents’ property.
• My father told him he should not be there, but he insisted he had a “legal duty” to attend when a fault was reported.
• When I spoke to him on the phone, he became angry , saying he “didn’t give a damn”, that he was “out of pocket”, and that he would be removing the stairlift regardless of what Mitch had said.
• I had to tell him to leave immediately or I would call the police, due to the distress this caused and the vulnerability of my parents. Thankfully, he left after this.
• I called Mitch again on the 04/09/25 but have had no answer, reason I have now written this review as my email has been ignored
I have kept screenshots of his correspondence, which I have already shared with Mitch, as evidence of how I and my parents have been treated.

Given the repeated faults, the risk and distress caused to my parents, and Paddy’s wholly unprofessional behaviour, we have lost all confidence in both the product and your company.
We therefore request the following:
1. A full refund of the deposit paid.
2. The stairlift to be collected, but only once we have arranged for a replacement from another provider (to avoid leaving my parents without essential access to their bedroom and bathroom).
I am extremely disappointed that a situation which began with good customer service has deteriorated in this way. My parents have been more than patient, and I regret not acting sooner on their wish to reject the stairlift from day one. Still heard nothing from anyone about my complaint 08/09/25

Excellent service

Made the initial enquiry about a stairlift on Saturday evening, less than a week later it's fitted. Excellent service with every step. Tim who i spoke to initially was very helpful, Julie that came to visit for our appointment was lovely, she explained everything and was very knowledgeable. Then finally Jack that fitted the stair lift did an excellent job. Would definitely recommend My Mobility

ABSOLUTELY AVOID

If there was 'no stars' I would press that. Two sides to every story, we know, but suffice to say STEER CLEAR of this company. It is the good engineers who have any successful reviews for 'My Mobility UK's' name. The after sales is abysmal and they tell lies.
Fact. I remain very disappointed, though after much wrangling got my money back. Never again.

My Google review was replied to by this ‘company’ as follows (before I copy this on to here I wish to point out that at NO POINT have I said the stairlift was installed incorrectly or faulty, I had the most excellent engineer, Brian). I was simply miss-sold the stairlift for the width of the stairs and my disability and frame. Lots of ‘phone calls and emails ignored at the outset. Then they set ‘Mitch’ on the case - this is where lies come into play. “Gone the extra mile”? No! Read on….

At no point was the stairlift installed incorrectly or faulty and when we established it couldnt meet your specific individual needs we agreed a full refund and removal of the lift which did take longer than anticipated to organise due to engineer availability for which we have apologised for and do so again now.

How a salesrep visit should be

Trevor Kirkpatrick was the rep who came to my mothers house to measure up for a stairlift. Very knowledgeable and clear with all his information.
We were happy to go ahead with his offer and the fitting was set for just over 2 weeks later.
