Thank you for your review.
We’ve located your policy and can see that assistance was requested an hour and a half after the cover was purchased. As made clear prior to purchase, we’re unable to provide cover for vehicles that are already broken down or experiencing a fault at the time the policy is taken out.
For this reason, we were unable to assist under the terms of the policy and instead offered support on a private, chargeable basis.
During a subsequent call, abusive language was directed toward a member of our team, which resulted in the call being terminated. We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy towards abusive behaviour. In light of this, and the attempt to misuse our services, the policy was cancelled with immediate effect. A refund has been issued, minus the applicable cancellation fee.

My car had an alarm fault, computer said no
My car had an alarm fault, with the alarm randomly going on and off. Obviously this renders the car undriveable and I was not in a position to callout a mobile mechanic or visit a garage.
So I think "hey, I have motoring assistance cover, I'll call them out!" only to find out that no, they do not actually honour their name and find any which way to not provide the very service you have paid for.
Apparently alarm faults aren't covered by them, despite alarm faults being you know, an actual motoring issue that prevents safe driving even if the motor works and the wheels turn. Pathetic and extremely aggravating.
Don't expect Motoring Assistance to live up to the name. In fact they should rebrand with an asterisk: Motoring Assistance* (* in select circumstances only). Just a useless service.

Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to locate a policy based on the information provided in your review.
Please email us at support@motoringassistance.com with your policy number or vehicle registration, along with a brief summary of what happened, and we’ll be happy to investigate this for you.
To clarify, we provide emergency breakdown assistance for vehicles that have suffered a mechanical or electrical fault which prevents them from being driven. While we appreciate that an alarm fault can be disruptive and inconvenient, it does not in itself render a vehicle undriveable if the engine, steering and braking systems remain fully operational.
In situations like this, the appropriate course of action is to drive the vehicle to a garage or repair centre as soon as possible for inspection. This advice is consistent across many breakdown assistance providers.
We understand this may not be the outcome you would hope for, but our advice is provided in line with the scope of the breakdown cover in place.

Alex made the experience great. I cannot praise this young lady enough.
If the service is as good as Alex, it would have to be the UK's best breakdown service. Very good deal monthly, but an even better deal paying annually. Hope I don't need their service but I will certainly report back on here if do!
