Terrible. Wish i had read more reviews before trusting this company. We bought a swing wall lamp 6 months ago and this was our splurge item for the room. Upon installing it we noticed the design was... Mehr ansehen

Dodgy offshore company masquerading
MisterLamp Auckland appears to be a dodgy offshore company masquerading as a local store.
Scammers
Ordered 2 lamps the same, 2 different ones arrived, they wouldn’t sort the problem or honour money back guarantee, customer service driven by AI- not NZ based at all, no response from Auckland phone number.
Will never order from them again. SCAMMERS
5 months and still waiting for response…
5 months and still waiting for response to where are my lights
$3000 spent - no product
Scammers - DO NOT BUY FROM THEM
Scammers! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
Requested SDOC and confirmation of local goods prior to purchase. Once purchased, the SDOC was refused and the product came from China. 30 day money back guarantee is scam and also refusing to provide a refund. Product is non compliant in NZ. Have offered 25% refund and we complete the light thats ready for the trash heap or a refund minus shipping costs with the product being returned at my risk.
Not based in Auckland, beware
After receiving confusing comms from them I checked this site and realised they are dishonest about their location and their products. The lights finally arrived and were what was pictured but there was no SDOC for them so they are illegal to install in NZ. After tedious toing and froing they have agreed to a refund - still working on this. PayPal are involved. They insist they are based in Auckland but they communicate in the middle of the night and are not aware of NZ regs so I do not believe them on this.
Beware.
Beware.
This site is a dishonest sham. Do not trade and waste your precious money with them.
They profess ‘ money back guarantee’ this is correct if you follow their returns policy, anything to china comes with an exorbitant charge for you!
I did not receive what I had ordered, which was advertised on the ‘Mister Lamp’ Auckland site, their advertising is deceptive.
BEWARE.
Unhappy customer 🤬
We spent $1700 on new lights for our…
We spent $1700 on new lights for our renovation. Like other buyers, we received cheap looking lights with no sDOC so our electrician refused to install them.
I spent another $200 returning them to china and they gave me the wrong return address so they get returned to me in new zealand. So angry and frustrated by these scam artists.
Misleading Website Not in Auckland - Rubbish
I bought a pendant light that arrived faulty. Despite providing photos, a video, and a certified electrician’s report, Misterlamp refused a refund unless I paid to return it to China—a clear breach of NZ consumer law.
They claim to be NZ-certified but provide no compliance documentation, and they pretend to be NZ-based with an Auckland number, while everything ships from China. Customer service is just an AI bot, they don’t return calls, and after weeks of stalling, they stopped replying. Avoid this company.
DO NOT BUY - ILLEGAL ELECTRICAL GOODS
Wish I had read the reviews first. Lights supplied with no SDoc, illegal to fit here in NZ despite repeated requests and assurances that would be provided. This company should not be allowed to legally trade, they are providing unfit, illegal goods. I'm pursuing with Sofia the AI bot but so far the responses are going round in circles.
Scammer Company
Ordered a number of lights from this scam company. Whilst the lights arrived most were of poor quality and lacking the SDOC certification required to install to code. Received one NZ$500 light that was so badly packed and damaged (and of extremely poor quality) and tried to request a refund. Was offered 15% of the purchase price and told to send back to a nominated address in China at my cost and to ensure goods packed safely. Complete joke and these guys should be run out of town. Do not fall for the slick website.
100% scam, avoid!
Got sucked into ordering some pendants off their slick looking website. The lights actually did arrive but had no certification (despite the website claiming they’re certified) and not legal to use in NZ.
Furthermore, despite ordering 3x identical lights they were different to one another!
As others have said, the email contact is an AI agent. If you try to claim a refund they evade your questions and instead try to offer you a discount and ask you to ship to China.
Do not buy from this company
Do not buy from this company. I ordered hanging pendants for my new kitchen. After much delay they arrived with missing parts. I have not had any success in getting Mister Lamp Auckland to replace them, as I now realise I have been emailing back and forth with an AI bot and not a real person. I have bought another similar light off trade me for a third of the price.
Same as every other reviewer
Same as every other reviewer. I got sucked in thinking I was supporting local and purchasing from an Auckland based shop. I realised things were suss once I started getting bombarded with emailed about shipping being delayed. I’ve lodged a dispute. It arrived, the lamp I ordered…. The lamp itself is fine. The rest is made of CARDBOARD. Dealing with Sofia the bot. I don’t have social media but the Auckland contact number etc made me think it was an actual shop.
Complete scammers and dirt bags
Complete scammers and dirt bags. I have been emailing Sofia an AI bot about the failure to deliver the second outdoor light, only received one. Cost $100. I can see the same product on Trade Tested (very reputable company) for $23 each.
Mister Lamp is a complete rip off - They shouldn't have merchant status with Visa or Mastercard. I feel they are culpable too when you look at all these appalling reviews and the lengths some people have gone to to seek redress.
DO NOT BUY anything from this…
DO NOT BUY anything from this fraudulent company.
Their products are cheap shit made in China.
To get a refund they say you must return the product. The cost of return was quoted as $350.
I paid 590$ NZ for a piece of rubbish made in a back street factory in China. The plugs don't meet NZ standards and the piece of rubbish lamp was scratched ! The website sucks you into believing the outlet is in Auckland with glossy photos and claiming price reductions. What a scam. I have notified card dispute team at my bank.
I feel so ashamed I fell for such a lie. Sofia the AI communicator has an answer for everything... lies.
The sooner this company goes under the better.
Do not buy from this company!!!
Do not buy from this company!!!
Unable and unwilling to supply an SDOC, so the lights are not legal in NZ despite their assurances that they are…
Fraudulent trading by Misterlamp.
I bought two light fittings which it turns out are not certified to be installed safely in New Zealand. The hassle of returning these to China was not realistic so I lost $200. These people are fraudulent and do not buy products from them.
This should not even be one star but I…
This should not even be one star but I can't leave feedback without a star.
PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BE SUCKED IN TO BUYING FROM MISTER LAMP LIKE I WAS!!🥵
I emailed them before purchasing & asked if their lights were NZ certified & they replied YES.
So I purchased what I thought was 6 beautiful exterior lights for over $1000 & when they finally arrived my electrician has refused to install them as they are not nz certified.
When I complained to mister lamp Sofia replied offering a 20% partial refund which is a waste of time when the lights are no use to me.
Anyway after getting no where I agreed to thr refund as it is better than nothing but now they will not respond & I have never received any refund.
They should be shut down asap!!!!
Terrible
Terrible. I was lead to believe this company had a store in Auckland. It does not. They drop ship from china and they cannot provide any documentation that is legal for lighting in NZ standards. I tried to cancel my order immediately after sadly realising I’d been scammed. They simply would not cancel. And Sophia their AI responder just kept on repeating the same response. We did receive our order from china but we cannot use the lights here in NZ. Gutted.
Chinese cheap quality, NOT a NZ company
I totally agree with all the other reviews. Don't buy there, cheapest quality you can find. Plus you have to send the returns to CHINA. This is NOT a NZ company.
