Middleton Nurseries is a family-run business based in the small village of Middleton, we began as a retail garden centre before focusing solely on our nursery, allowing John to pursue his passion for growing and breeding plants. Since then, we’ve grown into a leading supplier of hardy perennials, specialising in salvias, which we sell online and at RHS shows across the country. In 2021, Middleton Nurseries became a third-generation business when John’s children, James and Annabel, joined the team. Today, we combine decades of horticultural expertise with a passion for quality, growing over 300 varieties of salvias. Rubbish plant labels and inferior plants.
Plant labels on different plants and the ones that came were in a bad condition and not mature enough to survive. Last year you were true professionals but you have lost "the game". I understand the difficulty with weather. Caveat Emptor is buyer beware. Train your staff instead of being a boring packing device. Got it! If you ever care about plants and people, do the right thing. Your plants were in very good condition last year, professionally packed and in good condition. I will not be recommending Middleton again. Train your own staff. My mistake to order from you this year. Other professionals are out there. This is your homework at this juncture.

We are extremely disappointed to read this review, particularly as you did not contact us directly to raise any of these concerns before posting them publicly.
As a small, independent family nursery that has been trading for over 50 years across three generations, we take great pride in the quality of our plants and the service we provide. If a customer experiences an issue, we are always happy to investigate and put things right where appropriate. However, we can only do this if we are made aware of the problem.
We welcome genuine feedback and are always willing to resolve any concerns, but we do not believe this review fairly reflects either the quality of our business or the experience of the vast majority of our customers.
Given the nature of this review, the abusive comments directed towards members of our family and our staff, and the fact that no attempt was made to resolve these concerns with us directly, we have made the decision that we will not be accepting any future orders from you. In over 50 years of trading, this is the first time we have ever had to take such a step, which reflects how seriously we view this matter. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive behaviour directed at our family members or our team.
We remain committed to providing excellent plants and customer service and encourage any customer with a concern to contact us directly so we have the opportunity to help.

I bought three 9cm pots of Philadelphus…
I bought three 9cm pots of Philadelphus Pearls of Perfume and they were all super healthy and ready to be transferred to the ground or bigger pots, which where they are now and they continue growing beautifully.

Fantastic range of plants of great quality. My order was incorrectly delivered by the courier to a different address which was not their fault. MIddleton resent the order and were great to deal with. Will definitely use them again .

Mostly happy
Ordering easy, delivery on schedule and plants mostly doing well. My only complaint is the way plants are "stapled" together very, very tightly, usually with four ties even for the smallest. Some stems never recover.

My 7 Salvias from Middleton Nurseries…
My 7 Salvias from Middleton Nurseries were the best plants I received this year - and I buy a lot of plants on line. Ordering process was easy. I was kept informed of progress (very helpful so I could prepare the ground, and in some cases pots ready for their arrival), updates on delivery and times were spot on and when the plants arrived they were beautifully packaged, not one leaf damaged. I will certainly be using this nursery again.
All my new salvias are now growing and flowering and look lovely.

Beautiful choice of Salvia plants
Ordered a selection of Salvia plants, all arrived well packed and in good condition and are thriving well despite the heat. Most are already flowering and the colours are lovely, there is such a huge choice of colours that I will likely buy more next year.
