Well made sheds, the lads that came to put it up were excellent, very approachable and certainly knew what they were doing had it up in no time, would definitely recommend.

Easy company to deal with. Great quality Shed. Ordered a second shed as the first was too nice to put my garden tools in :)

Just had our new "Garden Chalet" style shed delivered and fitted by MCD.

I don't normally leave reviews however I really think this is worth a few moments of my time. I'll try to keep it short.

Firstly we are very happy with the Quality, Communication and the Installation.

I'm sorry I didn't get the 2 fitters names but it was one of the men's birthdays and he stood in at the last minute, cancelling his day off. They drove down to the West Midlands in the freezing cold and arrived as advised before 8am.The shed was completed quickly, despite the wintery conditions. The area left tidy. These guys really are a credit to you.

The day before we had been phoned to say there was a lot of snow and couldn't guarantee the installation but they would try their best.

We visited the Barnsley showroom - Placed an order the next day (no sales pressure).
We were advised of lengthy delivery times (it's been a difficult year) but timescale was accurate.

MCD phoned as promised and agreed the installation date and time.

I can't praise MCD, the office staff and fitters highly enough.
Definitely 5 Stars.

Got our new shed today my husband spent a while looking at numerous shed suppliers honestly none of their shed and summer house were a patch on MCD Home& Garden .The roof is made out of steel and lined inside so are the wooden panels , it's fully treated got galvanised bolt X hinges , we are really happy with it it is the best quality nicest looking shed we have ever seen and we have looked everywhere , also the price was good .The men who fitted it and the staff were lovely.Thankyou MCD would give you 100 stars if we could

On time, on budget, perfect! Marvelous customer focused service, nothing is a problem for these people. Big thanks to Steve, Jacob and Joanne who have extraordinary powers to meet any challenge with a smile (you deserve those extra few days off this Christmas!)

I’ve left this review 2 months after the end of the fiasco with MCD to give me time to calm down and write an unemotional review. I ordered a bespoke Ruby summer house at a cost of £6,219 back at the start of July 2020, it was on a 14-16 week lead time. After chasing it finally got an install date 19 weeks after order, however the day before installation I got a call from sales in the morning to take the final balance and then in the afternoon to tell me they had damaged the UPVC doors on the way from the factory in Ireland to the UK. This is when the drama and tangled web of miscommunication and at times mistruths were told. Even though the fault was due to MCD’s hauliers, MCD protested it wasn’t their fault and they were being out as much as I was, but due to them not being able to talk to the UPVC factory, only emails due to language difficulties (so I was told), they couldn’t put any pressure on or escalate and I was told it could be a further 8-10 weeks. Communication was great for the first 72 hours and then just stopped unless I chased, as they weren’t able to provide any acceptable updates. Martin the MD would only communicate via email and took 10-14 days to answer every email I sent. The install was then re-booked for the 25th January and was assured all would go well as the head fitter was coming to do my job.

The summer house was installed, complete with UPVC windows and doors, internally cladding, insulation and electrics. The windows and doors were left filthy and I was told to wash the windows and doors down once the silicon had dried. I pointed out a number of white patches on the top and bottom of the door to be told they were just the protection film and they would come of on washing with warm soapy water. I asked if there was any damage i should be aware of and both fitters looked me in the eyes and said definitely not!!! I left it two days as instructed and then to my dismay found the issues. The film on the top and bottom of the doors were actually areas where the paint had been knocked off, which was obvious in hindsight, why was I fooled!?!? The two opening windows have significant deep scratches on the UPVC, the handles and hinges scratched through to the base metal. Lastly, one of the screws on the door handled had been chewed and left!

I was fuming, I spoke to sales and sent them the pictures, to be told that the fitters wouldn’t have known, which is nonsense, all of the film would have been damaged on the windows and doors. I then asked to talk to Martin the MD, who I had spoken to a number of times before, once 5 years ago when he fitted our first MCD shed, and then again a few times when i added a standard 6x4 shed to this order. However as soon as we had any issues he refused to communicate with me outside of emails. When I challenged sales as though why he wouldn’t talk to me they said “well you wouldn’t go into Asda and expect to talk to the CEO”. It took a further 5 months to get someone to come and install a new bracket on the top and bottom of the door and the fitter even confirmed himself that this would have been obvious as damage to the head fitter who left it! He hasn’t been told about the screw on the door, so didn’t have one and couldn’t fix it locally.

The end result meant that I was offered £200 refund to make up for the badly marked frames and handles due to their inability to fix the problem. I ended up negotiating £250 as they didn’t fix the screws as promised and as ever blamed it on someone else.

The quality of the timber product these guys provide is great, I really wouldn’t buy UPVC from them as it’s handled like timber and they have no route to fix when it goes wrong. The customer service here was non-existent and I have gone from being an absolute MCD advocate to someone who will never deal with them or recommend then again. We were told by sales that their business had tripled in COVID times and they couldn’t keep up, but there service and communication has disappeared. I understand that issues happen, but as you’ll see from above, the way you deal with it is key! I haven’t shared everything in my review as it’s far too long already, but so disappointed!

An excellent summerhouse, built to a high standard, and looking like it will last for years
. The fitters who assembled it were pleasant, hard-working, and did a thorough job. I would have no hesitation in giving MCD my business again.

Absolutely fantastic company from start to finish it's a 5 star service. So pleased with our new shed can't fault anything. The lads who fitted it were amazing too arrived in time and were so helpful.

Great service and great shed ..We got a custom made shed and was as promised and better..Would use them again and staff always help full (Aoife always on the ball and happy to help as were all the staff )

Fantastic customer service all round. Was very impressed with the team that built my shed (in soaring temperatures). Prompt and really helpful. Love the shed - can’t wait to get to work in it - the insulation and double glazing make all the difference.

I have just had a garden shed ( cottage) supplied and fitted today I had previously done my homework and noted all info from their web site I must say the quality of product and the standard of installation far exceeded my expectations further more the fitters Kyle and Conner were a delight and very professional The whole experience only took just over 2 hours

From order placement to delivery and installation the service offered has been first class….and a great product.

Our Cottage took a little longer than the estimated leadtime however we fully understand the current situation. Me and my wife and our friends are over the moon with it. Certainly worth the extra wait. Thanks MCD for fabulous service and amazing product.

I was on the lookout for a shed that had to fit a specific size (11 x 7) for the garden following a re-design of the patio and MCD provide a bespoke size option. Quality is first class - thicker wood throughout, metal roof and options such as double doors and windows. Fitters were first class despite having to assemble it in the rain.

I am very pleased with my small shed. MCD were helpful through the whole process,from contacting me immediately after I’d made the order to check everything was correct, to the delivery which was on time and easy for me.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new shed.

We love our new Ruby summer house.

Last week we had a Ruby summer house delivered and installed and we are so impressed with the quality. We have already recommended mcd to a friend who has ordered one for themselves.

We ordered our Corner Summerhouse based on the photographs online. The photos are still there showing that both of the vertical fascia for each side of the doors and sit snugly underneath the pent roof. Which gives an symmetrical aesthetic look to the front of the summerhouse. The left hand fascia has been fitted at an angle where it is jutting out from the pent roof. I queried this and a fitter was sent to make it right. However all he did was take a bit of the fascia off and reposition it slightly, but it still juts out and looks odd. All MCD will say is that they have altered the design slightly and that in line with condition 5.7 of their terms and conditions they can make changes. They say that their showroom and other web pages show the summer house as ours is built. This is not the look we expected. We were not advised of any changes prior to the build. In fact if you ordered it today on MCDs website the picture is still misleading. Certain things were not right with the build. The Georgian window inserts were badly fitted and one strut was split and another fell on my head. The angle moulding was not fitted on one window and fell off. A couple of splits in the fixed window frames caused by nails. Because the weather was so bad when in was built we decided not to complain and my husband put in right and paid out of his own pocket to make it right. Be aware that the Georgian inserts are on the inside so have to be removed for staining to match the colour of the summer house.
