I flooded my 1 year old breietling watch in dubia on holiday.once in uk I went to my local shop in Southampton to get it sorted.i was told a service was£500 so sent it away as didn't want it rusting internally.couple of weeks later and my watch was back.no charge due as my watch was under

Customer excellence at its best

Amazing service from both Edinburgh and London City (Cheapside) branches. Lydia convinced me to purchase my new timepiece & took such great care making sure I had the right info to make an informed decision. Then Gareth really looked after me at Cheapside store when I needed to get link removed. Friendly personable and professional - the perfect combination. The service I received was simply…

The service I received was simply excellent from Helen today at the Cambridge boutique. I was never rushed, was taken through a range of watches I was interested in and was made to feel special. I was given a detailed instructional walk through of the chosen Breitling and it was fully adjusted to fit perfectly. The whole experience was what I’d hoped and made my purchase even more special. I would not hesitate to return for my next watch (probably for my wife next time). Highly recommend.

Professional and enjoyable experience

The service was excellent, Danielle (Sowden) kept us up to date with emails, and options. Danielle was never pushy, and left us to make our choice or not in our own time. When we found the watch we wanted we arranged to pick up with Danielle, and was offered drinks, and snacks whilst we finalised the deal. Very nice experience. Thank you

Mappin & Webb, Glasgow store

In January 2025, I first met Wendy Harper when I went into the Glasgow store to purchase an eternity ring. I have already submitted a review on this purchase. On 1 February 2025, my husband was wishing to treat me to a piece of jewellery for our forthcoming wedding anniversary. At every stage, Wendy was in contact with me as I gave her advance notice of pieces that I liked. During our store visit on 1 February, Wendy was available to meet with us at our allocated time and the time spent going through the different pieces of jewellery was perfect, relaxed and Wendy’s professionalism and friendliness was exemplary and she is an absolute credit to Mappin & Webb. I couldn’t decide between 3 pieces of jewellery of which I was treated by my husband who bought all 3 but there was absolute no pressure to buy, merely Wendy allowing us time to work through the pieces. Such is my experience, I will be a regular visitor, even to just pop in and say hello, maybe get my jewellery cleaned but more importantly, meet with Wendy who can show me new arrivals and have a catch up. Wendy is an asset to the company and I wish her every success with other clients and hope her experience and knowledge is recognised by M&W. Thank you again to Wendy for making my shopping experience absolutely perfect.

Terrible customer service, management not interested in supporting us we are valuable and long serving customers of this company,

For my wedding anniversary my husband bought me the messika twin trilogy ring from Mappin & Webb. The three floating diamond ring is beautiful I loved it, sadly while wearing the ring I was hanging up my clothes the ring got caught on a coat hanger and one of the arms holding one of the diamonds bent out of shape. I was on holiday at the time, we contacted Mappin & Webb who gave us a quote to repair it so on our return they sent it back to Messika. My ring was away for repair for over 6 months.
We had to constantly chase Mappin & Webb up asking why the repair was taking so long. My husband paid £7800 for the ring and we felt the customer service from Mappin & Webb was zero, they were not interested.
After complaining about our experience we requested a new ring or a refund, which after lots of back and forwards they agreed.
To my shock I was then given a repaired ring and not a brand new one,
After getting the ring inspected by an independent jeweller who confirmed it had been repaired we took the ring back to the store to explain what we had been told. Then they accused me of wearing the ring and damaging it myself.
We have been customers of Mappin and Webb GlenEagles for over 10 years and have spent a lot of money with them.
This experience was with Mappin & Webb Glasgow.
The manager and their Team have treated us very poorly and we are left with no choice but to take this matter further.

I have now done my own research into Messika the company and their on line reviews are horrendous, I have now no confidence or trust in Mappin & Webb and am shocked that they continue to offer Messika products.

I believe you the honest hard working customer need to know this information. I am a very honest person and have never in my life had any bad dealings with a company like this. I love to support the high street and all uk businesses, this experience has left me scarred.

My father died very suddenly and kindly gifted me his much loved vintage Rolex. Rolex advised me Mappin & Webb help with a part exchange for a ladies Rolex. I had therefore expected first rate service. What I actually found was somewhat dismissive, arrogant and wholly lacking, Customer Service.

The Rolex 'expert'. After flaffing with Dad's watch, he went away and upon return, his whole demeanour changed.

He knew the age of the watch prior to the appointment. So one would expect, an expert, to have known immediately the age would indicate the use of tritium for watch face illumination. I also suddenly realised Mr Struthers assumed I only wanted to sell for cash!

Mr Struthers was highly critical of another watchseller company in Bluewater who offered part exchange. Mr Struthers indicated likely a valuation which will reduce.

It was a very depressing and distressing experience. I hope Mr Struthers understands one day. How he made me feel.

I was promised a valuation within 15 minutes. 24 hours later nothing. I know the company has the correct email details as I've had two appointment confirmations.

When I rang to follow up today, a colleague Margaret seemed genuine? She advised Graham was out of the office today; she had spoken to him, he was now sending the email valuation (a whole day later). No surprise, nothing arrived. I tried to call Margaret back. Now she wasn't available. Why the charade? If they don't want the watch, why not just say.

I have discovered Rolex changing tritium is absolutely a big deal - they dont and will not service. So this is the likely reason for Mr Struthers change in demeanour. I do not recommend M&W. Reviewing other feedback on here, I am enlightened that I am not the only one to have regretfully experienced patronising 'service' and, in my view, bizzare staff behaviours.

EDIT not long after this was published I was sent a sale valuation but no part exchange quote...

Shocking Customer Service

Please think very carefully before spending your hard earned money with Mappin and Webb. I have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds over many years with this company and until recently i have never had to return a faulty item so i was shocked when i actually had a problem with an expensive ring i had purchased for my wife at the launch night for the opening of the renovated Glasgow Showroom. Since then i have had an absolute nightmare with them, the worst customer service i have experienced in my life and i will not spend another penny with this company, and that will go for every single person i know as i will be passing on the information from my experience to anyone who will listen, i am that angry and unhappy. if they will treat a long term loyal customer like this then god help anyone making a single purchase. Claim to be a high end Jeweler but do not behave as such.

It’s not all about the watch although it is a beautiful piece but it’s all about the experience

The people make it.

We sent my wife's watch in for servicing to Mappin and Webb. A couple of issues resulted from this, but the team in York did everything they could to smooth out the problem. Obviously client driven, they understand what it means to provide first class service. Not only that, our little fluffy dog, Winnie, has become the official showroom pooch, to the point where she was gifted by the team with a beautiful diamond encrusted harness, which they were quick to point out was made of real diamonds!!! We would argue otherwise, but a wonderful gesture nevertheless. Keep doing what you do, you are a credit your company.

Ordered a set of pearl/diamond ear…

Ordered a set of pearl/diamond ear rings on next day in store order. I went to collect the next day as instructed to be told no deliveries had arrived, then returned the next day to be told again that it had been dispatched to the store but no one could locate it in the chain. They took my mobile number and said they would keep me updated but are yet to call.

I will return tomorrow but this is by far the worst jewellery experience of my life. £1250 for a set of ear studs is not a small purchase and the entire experience is an utter shambles.

Fabulous service at Southampton’s Mappin&Webb outlet.

I would highly recommend Mappin and Webb in Southampton. I was served by a professional Szczepan yesterday who was pleasant and very attuned to the jewellery that interested me and took great care in helping me to select a ring from the extensive collection at this branch. I went into Mappin & Webb to ask a…

I went into Mappin & Webb to ask a question about a perfectly working omega sea master planet ocean professional. I was advised to have it serviced at a cost of over £600 for it to have stopped working on the stopwatch and return. Not the best for diving. Not the best for a £600 service that’s has effectively stopped working inside 18 months. Obviously, not very impressed. Who does the work? Are they omega? Or a technical watch repair chap who works across all brands? Not very good.

EDINBURGH STORE - Flawless service akin to that of a…

Flawless service akin to that of a bygone era.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Edinburgh branch of Mappin and Webb while on a weekend away in the city celebrating a milestone birthday.
With only a couple of hours to go before boarding the train home I thought I would chance a visit to the store in a bid to see if they had any pre-owned Breitlings in store.

To add some context I had been looking seriously for a Breitling for the past year in preparation for the birthday. However the quest had been somewhat tinged with poor experiences, with many stores trying to push other watches or playing down the significance of the cost and making unnecessary inferences about pre-owned watches.

I had even visited a Breitling boutique only a few weeks before in another city closer to home where the staff member was extremely pushy and then failed to call me back that afternoon as promised, only call later in the week to advise me the model I was after was now out of stock.

With the above in mind I was somewhat sceptical entering Mappin and Webb expecting an experience like the aforementioned ones however I was so wrong and pleasantly surprised all at the same time.

As I entered the store I was immediately greeted by a sea of smiles from the staff, the whole atmosphere felt relaxed and the store was immaculate. As I entered further I was greeted by a member of staff who was to surpass all of my expectations.

That member of staff was Paul, I asked Paul if they had any pre-owned Breitlings at which point his face lit up with what can only be described as genuine excitement. Paul without hesitation led the way to the new pre-owned boutique upstairs where myself and my wife were treated what I can only describe as a retail experience like no other.

Within moments we were sat down in comfort with complimentary drinks and a tray of watches to look through, I recounted to Paul the experiences I had had in trying to locate a watch to which he simply replied well feel free to look at all of the watches here, try them all on if you’d like and don’t feel you have to buy a single one, you can simply enjoy having a drink and trying some watches on, there really is no obligation.

Paul clearly has a knowledge and enthusiasm for watches that I imagine is hard to surpass and this was further compounded when he had without prompting picked the very watch I was after from the tray as the first to try on.

Needless to say I ended up purchasing the watch and am exceptionally happy with it.
Paul’s whole persona was that of professionalism and genuine enthusiasm, it made the whole experience an enjoyment, he is a credit to the business.

The after service was also on point with Paul sending a follow up email checking everything was going well with the watch and offering assistance at anytime in the future should it be needed.
I would without hesitation recommended the store to others.

Poor Rolex retailer

Have been a customer of mapping and Webb for years and also Rolex Glasgow there other retailer.
I have around 5/6 in my collection and have been dealing with Rolex gleneagles for a number of years.
Unfortunately since the last manager left that’s where it all goes side ways.
I have now been on the list for 5 years a simple Pepsi….
Not been offered a watch you actually want on your list! I did ask to see a gold day-date last year but at £55k was not worth it as market crashed on this watch. And could have picked one up for £40k…
But ended up buying a gold sub….£35k instead.
Anyway I am absolutely done with mappin and Webb and watches of Switzerland….

I have been in this store this year alone 19 times popping in and out all since last November not want watch offered in 2 years obviously don’t want the custom…

This store is not one bit interested in clients they have had for years.

Shame as love the Rolex brand! But find it amazing how one retailer can change your outlook on things….

I won’t be back in this store! Shocking service and I have left this for a year to see juts how we get on!! Not been offered anything!!

Would not expect anything from customer services, all my collection will be up for sale this week….
