Unaccepable error…

My Dacia Duster was classified incorrectly at the toll booth. We paid 19.50 instead of 11.60.I am appalled that this error happened on such a major road! I have never, ever, heard of overcharging on a toll road before. In this day and age, people don't even check their payments as they pay by phone...receipts and invoices are not provided. So, how many of these go unnoticed? They are refunding the difference ( I called but also had to send an email) but shame on you M6!

The length of time and the process to…

The length of time and the process to get a receipt from the system is pretty much awful saying it takes up to 48 hours this time I had to wait 4 working days previous times it’s been the same amount of days, they should go back to issuing the receipt at the time of paying and with the amount of money the company charges you I’m pretty sure they could afford to go back to it

Hi Ian. We're sorry to hear of your recent experience with receipts. Unfortunately it is difficult for us to return to providing receipts at the booths, as it does take some time for our system to calculate your trip price. The system was updated to allow us to only charge for the journey you make, rather than a flat price, which many deemed as being unfair.

If you would consider it, we would highly recommend our Lite account, which sends receipts to you automatically every trip. Hopefully this would mean you'd never have to ask for one again. We will take your feedback on board and look to keep improving our receipts portal in any case.

New M6 toll lite account made the process of paying even easier. No need to present a card, barrier lifts automatically with anpr. Not a regular customer, but enjoy the m6 toll experience on the odd occasion that we’re out that way👍

Hassle

Overcharged and despite getting an email to say how to reclaim it isn’t as simple as contacting someone! If there’s an issue using Applepay please give a warning so we get the choice to use it or not!!

Quick journey

Quick journey, efficient toll booths. Not the cheapest road to drive on, but knew the prices before we set off. Services looked ok on the way past, but so far we’ve not used them. One day!

I had cause to contact the customer to ensure that a payment had been taken successfully. The operator put my mind at rest and also followed up with an e-mail with a receipt. Quality customer service!!!!

Double charge explained

A very helpful reply to my “double charge” question which explained the “holding” charge made, which was in addition to the actual amount. As you said, the “holding” charge was removed without me having to do anything.

Terrible system with no one manning the booths. Not getting a receipt at point of purchase is a complete penny dodge and will never be acceptable.

Quick no quibble correction when the digital face plate failed was acceptable

Hi John. We're very sorry that we can't issue receipts at the booths, since we only charge you for the journey you make.

Each customer journey is charged by checking your entry and exit point so that we can charge less for shorter journeys. When you leave M6toll, our system can take a few hours to generate your toll journey and price, making it very difficult to present you with an instant receipt. However, your feedback will be noted and we thank you for sharing your thoughts -particularly if you received a quick response to your query.
