Wheelchair Taxi came 1hr and 45min LATE
We booked a wheelchair taxi in advance, for 5:30pm for a 15min journey.
Got a phone call around 5:10 to say taxi was a bit delayed but wasn’t too worried.
Phoned at 6pm to check and was told no wheelchair taxis taking our booking!!!
So apparently booking a wheelchair taxi in advance means nothing, the drivers can just reject when they come on duty.
Many many tearful and frustrated phone calls later a taxi came at 7:15.
This company doesn’t care that a delayed taxi affected meeting carers off roster and someone being treated with dignity and not feeling like a burden.
AVOID for dignity sake.

No receipt, overcharge, 26 minute delay
Three weeks ago, i booked a collection for 02:00, for a Tuesday night 6.3km rural journey.
At 01:54 the Lynk driver rang, giving me just 6 minutes notice, to say he would be 20 minutes late. At 02:23 i received a text from the driver informing me 'YOUR TAXI IS ON THE WAY' - but this is a misleading practice, because when we walked upstairs from the venue just 3 minutes later, the driver was arriving outside at 02:26. This practice probably leads to 'waiting time overcharges', as passengers would surely think that the taxi was only leaving a base or some other remote location? That standard text should say 'YOUR TAXI HAS ARRIVED !!
Taxi reached destination at 02:35, after a 6.3km 9 minute journey, with zero traffic and zero delay.
This SHOULD have been charged at Premium Rate/Tariff A. The TFI estimator online said the fare range should be €15.00-20.00 at Premium Rate/Tariff A - but i was charged an extra €10 +?, because incredibly, the driver charged €29.00 ?
No receipt offered or given, and no reason given for the overcharge.
I rang Lynk immediately when they re-opened, but their courteous customer service girl dragged out the matter regarding compensation,refund, and [no] apology.
Lynk told me that the driver explained the overcharge as a waiting charge, by telling them that he was waiting somewhere for 20+ minutes - that is a lie !!
I provided Lynk with the full accurate timeline info, but I can't understand why Lynk could not see the difference between right and wrong from the outset, and act without delay, regarding compensation for delay, no receipt and overcharge ? !
Lots more to tell, but no more time to waste.
I reported the whole matter to the NTA.
** update - NTA have just been told by the driver that they 'contacted the customer [me] by phone .. THROUGH THE APP, and then twice by text .. THROUGH THE APP [..... BUT ... I don't have any taxi app !!! [i never have] ? ☺️... so someone is [still] lying .... the mystery deepens ....
