Customer service? no, just salespeople
I went on the website to explore fault codes as I had an L2 showing which indicated “ignition lockout”. By doing a reset, the boiler ignited after a delay, but with a loud bang. Quite scary. After being told by the customer service chatbot that I would be put through to a customer adviser and waiting in the queue for 10 minutes, the adviser just turns out to be unable or unwilling to offer advice and can only offer service contracts. There was no advice and no concern for the fact that I am 67 years old, have no heating or hot water, but worst of all, there was no safety advice forthcoming about whether I should turn the boiler off in case it explodes.

My boiler is 3 years old and already it has broken down. No hot water or heating. Getting through to Customer service is absolutely dreadful: half an hour in phone queue and then cut off. Eventually got through but they cannot send an engineer for 4 days, even with a vulnerable person in my home. They won't permit me to use my own installer under the warranty, who was able to come out straight away.
Be warned - you will have the same problems if you buy an Ideal boiler.

This was the 3rd year that Duncan Sorrell has given my my boiler a full service to my complete satisfaction.
I always insist on a Ideal engineer as previously had subcontractors who did not carry out full service as in my contract.

Engineer visit for minor repair
The engineer arrived at the time pre-arranged.
He confirmed the fault and replaced the connection pipework. He had to turn off the water supply for the time he was here.
All in 15 minutes!
I was impressed.
