ICS Renewables 

They fitted my system in 2023 I paid upfront and truly trusted these guys as I was honest about everything yet they fitted it outside not wee we decided we ended up with 2x 3 .3 kWh batteries instead of the power wall 6 5kwh unit so I complained got no were they said 2arw better if one goes down you still got the second to fall back on ummm but those 2units are a lot cheaper really she said I didn't know that well I did I check everything as they promised to fit my system February 2023i paid £2000 on the 6th February 2023 they said if you want quick install you need to pay in full for next Monday install so £8800 in the 7th February 23 worst mistake of my life come Monday no vans nothing so on the blower. As I'm very fast at becoming aggressive due to medication and mental health issues so I say it how it is which upsets some people but these guys could sell sand to the Arabs so apologies they will be there Wednesday no show Friday no show promise you Tuesday no show so on the blower could you refund my money as I've decided to use a company closer to me so if anything goes wrong I can be there on there doorstep to ask why as you have feed me full of shit promise sorrys don't cut it love give me the money back asap I'm withdrawing from the contract but sir we have purchased your install equipment I said sadly there not at my home fitted love 3 weeks of lies then funny enough old van with electrician arrived no id no uniform I said yes he said I'm here to fit the electric for your solar setup up ok so I said what about the panels he said don't know mate I'm the sparky I fit all the items that need certificates to run they fit the wires and panels so this is week 4 we gave inverter but arguing about the batteries they offer me £500 back due to the units being cheaper so glade I did. Ask as they wouldn't have said anything or offered me anything so we had a other roughly 3/4 months of they will be there in the end I did the same again due to you lack of installation workers I suggest after this length of of time I'm wanting no more lies remove your units and full refund asapfunny as a scaffold van appeared on my drive this was Friday lunch time then another van appeared at. 2.30 pm2 young lads were doing the bosses a favour installing this lot today á were out on the lash in tuxford tonight he was on the roof fitters in few hours he struggled getting the right reading test for his photo proof of install he said it's not a very bright eve as overcast dark creeping in ok he was Finnished just as the scaffolders finished so we didn't understand the system much untill my frienddad was a solar farm engineer come round said there was something wrong as only one strings working on full power he said maybe shadding so he said monitor you production mate as it seems a little low to me so I asked I phoned up said what he said they said we I stalk hundreds of these systems strange enough this loss if power would come go they sent out 1 in 2024 who said Lise connection which made it work for 2 weeks blazing sunshine 909 watts joke really so on the blower told her would come out check vasicky said to me solar never does what it says it will do mate as to many factors to. Reduce the power but in going to monitor your system online ok as there is something which I cannot pin point my yettgis was 2025 which was the last time they responded but never got it fixed so I spoke to legal team who said try sending a them a full engineers report on your system so I paid £150 to have maintenance on my solar system to be told if you want it fixing as you've got icu fault down. To faulty wiring or faulty connections and any solar fitter should have spotted that if they did test on your system as the feed should be the same amps so requires scaffold tjeremovetest panels then the wiring replace all wires and refit your panels bird guards add maintainance plañ so your covered ten years uou will be good then .I posted the report and legally binding letter to them for response within 2 weeks as of the 21) February)2026 still awaiting response we are pursueing legal action as well as contacting hies a there insurance backed scheme 3 years of total nightmare as we chased complained but they just don't care I noticed half there reviews were from office staff who worked in the office talk about fixed reviews I'm guessing their bankrupt by now as since November I've not been able to get hold of any one or emails so beware buyers these are thieves

Our neighbours had solar panels installed by this company a few years ago and rated them highly . We live not far from Retford and like to support local companies. I and my wife have tried unsuccessfully to contact their office, no-one ever picks up ! We have even rang the main reception at the center and it seems no-one is ever in the office , which I find very strange . We are so glad we have found this site and have found out it’s been taken over by new owners and that they are not longer accredited. Looking at the directories on Companies house I can see they have set up another company called ICS Scaffolding, Seeing the reviews and scores on this site we have decided to go elsewhere, and I would recommend everyone else does the same.

Do not use this company, we have paid in full and our system does not work, they have promised repeatedly to resolve it and haven’t. I have tried to go through the accredited bodies such as MCS and HEIS and both have now said that ICS is no longer accredited/listed.

Just had 2 more batteries fitted to my system which they fitted they were fantastic so clean and helped me set up on the app took time to go through it with me I can’t thank them enough really great company

We had solar installed by this company in October 2024, after starting the install on the wrong roof it was eventually installed. An error occurred 3 months later and Will attended to see what the problem was, fully assuring us he would get it resolved. He requested scaffolding to be put up also to prepare for the remaining panels to be installed. The scaffolding was put up on 10th February 2025.

Despite daily and weekly calls the solar still hasn’t been fixed and the new panels are not installed. We paid a significant amount of money and have had no benefit whatsoever. Our whole system doesn’t work, the scaffolding has been in place for 8 months, the roof still needs repair and if Will or Mark do answer the phone they promise to call back and never do. Their subcontractor was really helpful and had the batteries repaired under warranty over the summer for us however now no longer works for them as he hasn’t been paid so he can’t help either. They just need to come and reconnect the batteries, fix the roof and install 6 more panels. It’s no more than 1 day of work but we have missed a whole year of summer energy and export whilst our system has depreciated whilst not working. They are also no longer registered with the HEIS, a consumer protection organisation covering renewable energy installation.

Please Will/Mark come and reinstall the batteries, get the system working and we can move forward. Much appreciated!

Had solars installed nearly two years ago and thought I had a good job done. Wrong started getting water coming in at top if stairs. They sent a roofer out and I thought all was well. Wrong again. Water is coming in again,couldnt get hold of ics not answering so called another local roofer. Horror , three solar panels have to come off as the installer cracked my tiles and wrapped felting around and said nothing. The felting has now perished hence the water leaks. Shame on you I now have to pay to have the repair done which should never have happened in the first place.

Mr Willam do not respond as to complete his job for my solare energy for register, with the company and transfer with the company i am.

Brilliant job done, left place clean and tidy and left all working well.

What a pleasure to have the lads come and sort out my battery’s was so polite and the work was so clean and tidy made sure everything was working fine and made sure I could get in touch with them anytime if any problems. Great experience would highly recommend them

On 11/02/2025, you agreed to the following work: 8 solar panels to be installed with an inverter and battery.
We agreed this work would be completed by 15/02/2025 at a cost of £7600 originally, £7400 after deduction you suggested..
However, I have had the following problems:
I got quoted 8 solar panels, then only 5 got installed. The installer rushed the job and told me someone would be out to fit the other 3, then he left them on my driveway and drove off. He didn’t explain to me how the inverter/battery worked, so I don’t know about the settings and what’s right for me. Got a call from co-owner Will explaining the job was complete and I was happy with the service. When I said I was expecting someone to come out to fit the others, he told me that the installer had explained about the optimisers and I was happy it was complete… this was not the case in the slightest, I had no idea about optimisers. Will explained this is not how his company runs and that it was a contractor, but he would send someone out to rectify this and ensure the optimisers get put on. This never happened, after multiple failed attempts of trying to organise this, we were left waiting at home for someone to turn up. When we messaged or called, we were fobbed off with excuse after excuse about being stuck on jobs etc or the weather (weather was fine where I was, sunny). 

I didn’t want the installers coming back without me being present as they had already lied to Will about the optimisers and what’s to stop them doing it again? 
I had turned down quite a lot of overtime to meet these people most days, so I was missing out on good money. 17/03/25, my partner also took a days annual leave to wait for someone to turn up, but nobody did and we never got any texts or calls stating we were being stood up again. I got in touch with Will and he replied “ Hi mate Matt will be with you Wednesday for definite”, but Matt still didn’t turn up. I had messaged early afternoon (14:25) asking if he was still turning up, but no answer. 
I called the number on the website, got a busy tone, so I tried multiple times trying to get through with the same outcome. The one time it gave me an option for a voicemail, I left one asking for a call back because I was being messed about. 
At the time, I didn’t know it was diverted to Mark’s personal number as it was showing as an office number, my apologies Mark as I understand you were going through something. Not sure why it wouldn’t have been diverted to someone who wasn’t in that situation or could possible take calls. 
After a slightly heated (Will) conversation where Will just kept talking over me of going off subject, I agreed to let Will come out with someone whilst I wasn’t at home… this still hasn’t happened. During that previous phone call, Will kept saying about the £200 savings and how it was a good will gesture, I did say I’d rather pay the £200 and know it’s all sorted. The good will gesture is only a good will gesture when carried out, so far it’s an empty promise to a customer who’s stuck with a £7400 rooftop decoration. 
24/03/25, I messaged asking if he would like me to leave the solar panels out for him as they’re in a locked and alarmed garage, so he could take them if they’re not being installed on my house. I don’t want to be left with them as I have no way of getting rid of them and he can use them on another job. 
No answer, so I messaged on 30/03/25 to which Will replied “call you tomorrow”, he never did. 
11/04/25, I messaged stating I had sent an email and would like someone to get back to me on it, he text back “call you back Monday mate”, he never did. 
14/04/25, I messaged asking for an update, no reply. 25/04/25, messaged asking if anyone is going to reply to me, no reply. 

I have sent emails asking for updates / this job to be complete 18/02/25, 07/04/25, 18/04/25 & 22/04/25, but nobody has taken the time to get back to me. 

When I had explained to Will previously that I am not seeing any savings and my electric bill has just gone up, he told me (on loud speaker in front of witnesses) that it wouldn’t be saving me money yet because it’s not summer and the sun hasn’t been shining. On the ICS website it states “solar panels generate energy from daylight, no just direct sunlight or heat. This means your panels will generate electricity all year round whether clear or cloudy conditions”, this contradicts what Will the co-owner was telling me. 
On the ICS website it states “start saving money in as little as 7 days”, I am now 69 days in and not a single saving! 

I had mentioned in my emails that I need the MCS certificate and DNO notification to set things up with Octopus energy, but ICS still won’t provide it, the MCS certificate should have been with me within 10 working days of the panels being installed.



I had no problem with the installation of my panels two years ago but since then the customer service has been non existent. I have been trying to contact them for 5 weeks but they don't answer the phone and don't respond to messages or reply to emails.

I recently had a solar installation done by these guys and it is perfect. I was unsure at first whether to have it done as I was sceptical on how it would benefit me. I called the office to enquire and they talked me through everything and what to expect. What I liked was they sent a surveyor to me who looked at my energy bill to determine what I needed. The surveyor then built the system in front of me on his laptop so I could see the price as he went along. I agreed on the system and went ahead with the installation. The date of the installation was flexible to me and went without any issues and I'm looking forward to the savings now the sun is coming out.
Everyone I spoke to was very helpful answering the questions I had.
I would recommend ICS Renewables to people looking into solar.

We've just had solar panels and battery installed by ICS and it couldn't have gone better.
Communication was excellent, friendly but not overly so and clearly very knowledgeable!

I have contacted the office on several occasions and not had any response or call backs I am disappointed with the service as I have needed assistance with the system and they won’t answer calls

They were knowledgable and very patient with may parents install.
My mum and dad are seeing some good savings from having solar fitted.

had a call out of the blue from these guys. was a bit unsure to begin with but after speaking through it all i realised solar panels was a no brainer for my home.

I had a fantastic experience with ICS Renewables from the initial consultation to the final installation. Their team was professional and knowledgeable - Especially Lauren who was incredibly helpful while dealing with all my queries.

I only wish that they had contacted me sooner!

Amazing products and team

I chose ICS renewables to install my solar and heat pump. I had been thinking about doing improvements but didn’t know where to start I am glad I listened to the team about my options. The savings I am seeing are amazing managed to pay for a holiday for me and my kids after 6 months of savings.

I did have a few questions after install and still to do this date Lauren is on hand if I need her.

Would recommend to anyone who will listen.

Recently had a heat pump fitted. Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Had a call from them, and booked a quote. Got a call the next day from Lauren the appointments manager. She was absolutely brilliant and answered all the questions I had. Would highly recommend.
