The entire experience that we had when using Go Real Travel for our travel around Croatia and Slovenia was good!! All the staff that we corresponded with via email were not only a delight to talk to but were super helpful, helping us in every step of the holiday be it queries on the places we were going to or purchasing of tickets and other logistical issues.

Although the team at Go Real Europe were always ever ready to help, we still did face some hiccups along the way but they were minor. For example in the itinerary provided there were some minor confusions found in the instructions to the purchasing of the Plitvice Lake tickets. We quickly learn from the hotel that we were staying that it did not matter which entrance tickets we bought because we could entire from any, but it is still important to purchase them before hand online.

My family and I also feel that in certain points of the itinerary could use a little reshuffling as we found ourselves, at times, lost with what to do. For example, when we were in Slovenia for a 4 day stop over, we felt like it was too long as Slovenia was a small place and had only a few sights to visit. Furthermore, we found out that when we arrived there on the 15th of August it was a public holiday in Slovenia and everything was closed, including museums and various tourist attractions.

Overall, Go Real Travel is still a good option when you want a free and easy travelling style but with a certain structure and guidance. They are definitely worth giving a try and we would definitely use them again especially for going to places in which we have no prior knowledge on!!

ps: do not let the hiccups deter you, they are just for feedback to the people at Go Real Travel so that they can improve their already excellent itinerary and help other travels have an even better time in Croatia and Slovenia

My wife Linda and myself planned a trip with Go Real Europe last year (before they became Go Real Travel) in October 2018. The trip was to Poland where we flew into Warsaw, and subsequently took a train to Krakow. It was a wonderful and meticulously crafted tour. Our guides were knowledgeable and prepared. The breakfasts at the hotels were exceptional, and they provided perfect Vegan- option food for us. Our emotional journey to Auschwitz was an exceptional experience.

Overall experience was ok. The accommodation, guided tours and private transfers were good and professional. The only dissatisfaction is the hotel in Zagreb which was not a good choice. It was situated in the outskirt, we had to take 6-8 stops via tram to reach the city center. Besides, there were no restaurants near the hotel and the cafe in the hotel itself closes at 1.30pm. The trains were also not a good choice of travel. They are slow and time consuming. The travelling from Zagreb to Budapest took 6 hours because the train stopped at almost every station. We later found out that a coach only takes 3.5 hours to reach! On top of that, the train stations are quite unfriendly. Most of them do not have a lift. We travelled in a group of four, with two elderly among us. We had four big luggage and four small luggage, so ended up my sister and I carrying the bags up and down the stairs which was extremely exhaustive and that part of it was indeed a mood killer.

Great experience with Go Real Travel
We used Go Real Travel (former Go Real Europe) for the first time to organize a trip to Prague, Vienna, and Dubrovnik. All aspects of our travel were flawless - the hotels were excellent and at the best location, all our transfers were at the station to meet us and pick ups from the hotels were on time. We were really impressed with the local guides who showed great knowledge as they showed us around their local city. Instructions on the use of public transport and how to navigate each city were provided in great detail which made navigation of self guided tours a breeze. We have no hesitation in recommending Go Real Travel.

Clay Copland did an excellent job preparing our itinerary for Berlin, Dresden, Prague, Vienna and Budapest. Transportation, tours and hotels were arranged for each city. Everything was well organized. Clay listened to our needs and planned accordingly. His selection of hotels and tours was perfect.

We traveled to Italy back in July 2019 (My husband and my two teenage daughters). I must say we had a great time. I contacted GoRealEurope to kind of help us with our trip. They did an OK job. They sent us a link with 126 pages full of information and things to do as well as directions and restaurants to go to and different things to do and see. That did not bother me because I had the time to read and do my own research on top of that.
I liked our travel agent, he was nice. It took him a couple of days to answer my questions, but when he finally answered he was very helpful. There were a few things that you need to be aware of, always do your "own research" because not everything is explain to you. For example: I didn't know you needed to reserve tickets to the Vatican museum, Colosseum and other important sites. I found out on my own by checking on YouTube videos.
Another thing that happened to us, was that our lovely travel agent who was so helpful and nice suddenly was fired and I got an email from GoRealEurope saying that we had a new travel agent in case we needed anything.
Well, this was very confusing since we paid for a "private tour" to take us inside the Colosseum, but sadly we never saw this private guide. When I asked, noone knew anything! We ended up in a "group" tour instead. The new travel agent had no idea what I was talking about....(sigh). Anyhow,We made the best of it, because we are a happy family and my kids had a good time no matter what. But I never got my money back from paying for a private tour.
When we went to the train station the driver drop us off at the entrance and took off. It was so confusing inside that place! Noone told us where to go or what to look for. We were on our own in there, Thank Goodness for the information booth! Give yourselves plenty of time!
We really walked everywhere and took a few taxis. Italy is a beautiful country, I would come back in a heart beat, but I will do this on my own next time. Blessings!!

The recommendations were sensational. Every detail as to train and transit arrangements were perfect. The tour guide that we used was really great, and the shuttle services to and from train and airport were on time and very nice. I had to call as we were delayed at customs, and the issue was handled right away. I can not recommend more enthusiastically.

We had an amazing trip to Italy! We did Venice, Florence, and Rome. We had walking tours and other fun things in each place, but our favorites were the day trip to San Gimignano (outside Florence) and the food tour in Rome—amazing!!

Recently returned from a 15 day honeymoon trip to Rome, Florence, Venice, Vienna, and Prague. The itinerary made by Go Real Travel was incredible. Danielle was nice to work with and was very responsive to any questions we had. Every day was planned out perfectly and included directions, facts, recommendations, etc. The hotels were all very pleasant and included continental breakfast which we quite enjoyed. The tour guides Go Real Travel set up with us were amazing. Each one was knowledgeable and extremely passionate about their respectable city. We had only two issues: a tour scheduled for a different time than what was in our itinerary, and a hotel booked for a night we were on an overnight train from Venice to Vienna. These things did not impact our trip drastically. One thing I would recommend is going over the itinerary with a fine tooth comb and making sure everything makes sense and seems reasonable.

I would definitely use Go Real Travel again!

Working with Clay and GoRealTravel was amazing! You definitely get an amazing experience for what you pay for. I really enjoyed having every detail worked out before hand, so we could arrive to our trip with zero stress and worries. Every travel guide we were set up with was fabulous...we enjoyed every second of our trip.

Go Real Europe and Clay Copeland were fantastic! Could not have asked for any better. I was skeptical at first because I had never heard of them but could not have asked for better. Everything was just as promised. Tickets were waiting on us upon our arrival at our hotel. All transfers arrived on time. Overnight train was a fun experience and our sleeping car was booked as we were told. Itinerary was detailed and guided us expertly through the city of Prague using walking and public transportation. All directions were clear and accurate. It could not have been a more pleasant experience. Thank you Go Real Europe.

Our experience was less than ideal. We had two parties coming in from separate locations and the driver was not told that there were people incoming from 2 different flights (arriving same time) at the airport, so he was a bit angry the entire ride to the hotel - starting our trip out with a bad taste. I will say the majority of the trip went well, hotel accommodations were okay for the most part (we requested 4 star minimum), guides were great and helpful. It seemed as each city the hotels got worse and worse though. On our last leg of the trip, we were put into a 2 star hotel, everything from the location to the rooms and the staff was completely unacceptable. I tried contacting our agent beforehand after reading some bad reviews and was told there would be an exorbitant fee to change hotels since they partner with only specific hotels. We were only there 2 nights so we decided to suck it up. The room was tiny and I mean so tiny that the lamp was on the floor because a table wouldn’t fit. Bed was hard and uncomfortable and room was dirty. On the day of checkout, the hotel employee was arguing with me about payment (again, the travel agency had already paid), he was rude and when I contacted the agent we worked with several times to discuss this incident and lack of background checking the hotels before sending people to stay there (hotel was a recent addition to their roster), the response was they contacted the hotel and received the same rude behavior and have since removed that hotel from their roster. I contacted the agent again and requested an explanation as to why there was not a better vetting process before sending customers/clients there. I also expected some kind of apology, reach out from management or even partial reimbursement. Nothing. Very disappointed that we had to be the “trial” to test out a horrible hotel that they no longer even deem acceptable. For that, we will not use their services again and cannot recommend them.

UPDATE: In response to my 2-star review, within several days, I was contacted by the CEO. He was very apologetic to what happened and in turn both parties were partially reimbursed for our stay at the inferior hotel (which was our major gripe). While it doesn't make up for the lack of being put into such a terrible hotel, especially when we paid an upfront premium to be placed into 4+ star hotels, I appreciate his efforts in reaching out and attempting to rectify the situation as much as he could in the aftermath. We had several emails back and forth and I appreciated him personally reaching out. I would also like to add that our travel agent, Brendan was great and provided many specific suggestions that we asked for (running paths, vegan restaurants, etc), I was just a little disappointed in how our complaints were handled until I finally wrote a review. Therefore, I am jumping my review up to a 4-star.

I was very happy I went with Go Real Europe. Our entire vacation was effortless. All of our guides were friendly and knowledgeable. All of the transportation between cities was perfect. We were picked up on time and it was great not having to worry about how we were going to get somewhere. All the hotels were great. Our hotel in Venice could have used updating, but the staff was so nice and the breakfast good, that I am willing to overlook how run down the rooms and bathrooms were. The itinerary provided was very detailed. Although we did not follow it exactly, it did give us a good source of information and we did, in fact, go to most of the places but not necessarily in the order provided. Any question that I had prior to our trip, was quickly answered and resolved on the "chat" feature on the site. I am very happy with all the service and highly recommend them.

It was an excellent experience. every thing went well as planned no surprises. The private tours (we took 3 in three different cities) was superb. They are knowledgeable, professionals, every one on time.
Plenty of bus and train tickets left. In Budapest we modified the plan and spent more time in Vaci Street and central market. We recommend this. Transport from and to transport stations was excellent and it is a good service. We will use you again next year and we recommended you to many friends. Thank you.

Just came back Prague, Vienna, and Budapest and used Go Real Europe to book hotels, most of the local transportation, and 4 guided tours. It wasn't entirely friction less as we did have a few minor issues, but the few bumps in the road we had got resolved timely. The hotels were great, we had no transportation worries, and the guides helped introduce each city with personal walking tours. It would probably be cheaper if we took care of all of these things ourselves, but not having to deal with all the little details helped make the vacation more relaxing. Their suggested itinerary is well done, and while we only followed maybe half of it, what we did use was helpful. It was a great vacation.

GRE has totally lost my trust, and this is even before my trip has begun. So I find myself in the horrible situation of having to go on the trip with GRE because I have made both the deposit and balance payments, while praying hard that there won't be any more nasty surprises.

There are 3 serious issues with their service:
1) Transparency
2) Honesty
3) Reliability

My friend and I have been planning for this trip since June, and I made the deposit for my itinerary on 2nd July to "seal in the hotel rates", as I was advised. So I made the deposit of $430 to the quote of 7K for 2 persons, and informed the travel consultant to cancel all rail tickets and guided tours for Western Europe as I had I had Eurail passes and only needed help for booking of hotels. I wanted to retain the suggested itinerary only for the Eastern Europe bit of my trip as I was exploring cities I had not been to previously. Fortunately, I downloaded the PDF version of the itinerary with the quotation price and the list of hotels I would be booked into for each of the cities, though not all of them were listed at that time.

I reconnected with GRE on 14th of July to to check if my hotel bookings have been confirmed, and I did not hear back from my travel consultant until 18th July when someone in operations sent me an email to make the balance payment by Jul 22nd for my trip coming up on 4th Aug. I did not want to make the balance payment because
1) the itinerary had NOT been revised to remove the rail tickets for the Western Europe leg, and
2) the travel consultant had not confirmed that all hotels were booked.

My travel consultant only managed to confirm all hotel bookings on 21st July, and that he had removed the rail tickets from my itinerary and quote. On 22nd July, another consultant sent an email to me, to inform me that if I did not make payment by 24th July now, that they would be cancelling my trip (no information what would happen to my deposit for 2 people - there was no such notification during the time of payment that my deposit would be forfeited if I didn't make my payment by the 22nd, and now the 24th). And she quoted me the revised quotation AFTER removing the rail tickets, which came up to $7,492! I wanted to know why my quote went up instead of down after removing the rail tickets, and she told me she would check with the original travel consultant who couldn’t be reached at the moment and urged me to make the balance payment first. I told her that the new quote was over my budget, and that I wouldn’t be going ahead with GRE at that price.

On 23rd Jul, I was sent an email that she had sat down with the original consultant, and had managed to bring my quotation down to $6,993. So I told her that it still did not make sense to me, that if I made a deposit to seal my price at 7K, why after removing rail tickets costing $400, that my cost is still at $6,993. Until this was sorted out, I was prepared to let my deposit go and just make my own hotel bookings and local tours. On 24th Jul, today, my “deadline”, she finally told me that they managed to sort it out. The system had accidentally booked 2 unlimited Swiss rail pass for in Switzerland instead of normal rail tickets, and that my new quote was now $6,664. That sounded reasonable, and as they sounded sincere, I was relieved that things were sorted out a week before my trip and that I would not have to make my own bookings and plans as I was clearing work to go for my holiday.

After I had happily made the balance payment for the trip, I went back to my itinerary to check the locations of my hotels so that I could figure out where the nearest u-bahns, metro stations, etc were, I realised to my horror that a number of my hotels had been downgraded by 1 star. The 4 and 5 star hotels that I had paid the deposit for on 4th July, had been replaced with 3 and 4 star hotels. And in my itinerary I had indicated that I would like a minimum of 4 star hotels to be booked. The feeling in the pit of my stomach cannot be described. Its the feeling where you know you have been skinned. You hope, and do not want to believe it to be true, but you know it. And my trip hasn’t even started yet.

So, I have gone back to them on this issue, but both travel consultants cannot be contacted because they have left for the day. I requested for the travel consultant who answered to relay my message that I expect the hotels I paid for to be reinstated at NO additional cost. Hopefully they get back to me tomorrow, now that I have made the balance payment and am stuck with them. Will keep you posted, but DO be careful and take note of the prices you were quoted on, and in checking any changes in your itinerary if there were changes made to your hotels and transfers!

Great trip to Prague, Austria, and Budapest! Go Real Europe had all hotel accommodations, travel vouchers, transportation pick up and drop off organized. I had some organized trips and explicit travel instructions for self guided trips! I told them the countries I wanted to see and what activities I like and they did the rest! Nice job!

We came across Go Real Europe a little by chance as I was looking for ideas for a European Holiday. The easy website navigation was an excellent staring point. Once we had an idea of our route and possible interests we were able to leave the rest to them. Paul came up with a draft itinerary and then we tweaked it a little as things came together. Later in the piece we were also easily able to amend some of the tours after we discovered that we would be meeting up with some friends in Vienna that could only be there one day. The adaptability and flexibility made this very easy.

The accommodation in each place we visited were all very well located with our only gripe being that some of them did not have air-conditioning. All the hotels provided breakfast. Even when our starts were early they provided us with something or a takeaway.

The transport arrangements were flawless. It is great to arrive in a location and know there is someone to pick you up from the airport, bus or train station and also to get you to those places on time.

The local tour guides were fantastic, Jana in Prague, Kate in Budapest, Angelica in Vienna, Helmut in Salzburg & Nicola in Český Krumlov were all excellent and able to give us local insights and adapt the walking tours to meet our needs. My personal favorite guide was Myles in Prague who took us on our beer tour!

The pre-arranged tours were suitable with only one minor hiccup in Český Krumlov but a few phone calls were made and this was quickly sorted out.

The self-guided walking tours and information packs, not to mention the tickets provided for all local transport were very useful.

The whole process was extremely well organized and Paul, our tour planner, could not have done a better job.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Go Real Europe to any of my friends.

We enjoyed our trip to Poland and Austria. The detailed instructions were a plus. There were a few mishaps but overall the vacation was excellent! The 2 hotels were each fabulous. The tours were very informative and personalized. Our favorite event was a day cruise along the Danube River. The boat, drinks, wait staff, etc. were great. The views were breathtaking! So glad I took chance on a company that I found on the internet. I checked the reviews and we were very happy with our trip.
