Honestly, this has been one of the worst companies I’ve ever dealt with.
I called on 13 September to cancel my insurance as it was due for renewal and I was changing vehicles. The renewal quote I received was far higher than other insurers, so I decided to cancel. During that call, I was clearly told that if I cancelled before the next payment date, I would receive a refund of £77 and that there would be no cancellation fee. Naturally, I was happy with that outcome.
However, after the cancellation, I received a bill for over £40. When I called to question it, I was told it was a cancellation fee — even though I had specifically confirmed there wouldn’t be one. I was then told my call recordings would be reviewed and that someone would get back to me within two days. No one ever did.
After waiting a few more days, I called again and was told I now needed to provide proof of sale for my car. I explained that my policy had already been cancelled before the next month’s payment, so this shouldn’t be necessary. Still, I contacted the DVLA and obtained proof, but they refused to accept it. When I tried to question why this was even needed, the call was abruptly ended.
Every time I’ve tried to get clarification, my calls are either disconnected or I’m given conflicting information. I was later told my refund would be processed within a few days — first on 1 October, then on 8 October I was told it had been processed on 2 October and would arrive within 5–7 working days. As of 15 October, I’ve still received nothing.
Now I’ve been told there is no refund because I cancelled my direct debit, which makes absolutely no sense since insurance is paid in advance. When I questioned this, the agent insisted it’s paid in arrears and hung up before I could finish speaking. I’ve since tried several times to speak to a manager and lodge a formal complaint, but my calls keep being disconnected — and now it seems they’ve stopped answering altogether.
Thank goodness I never had to make a claim with them — based on how they’ve handled this, I have zero confidence they’d manage it properly.

Got insurance from this company back in May 2025 and without a fone call or email to warn me in advance they going to cancel my insurance. When I rang the complaint department staff was so rude closed my case after a few weeks rang back to reopen my complaint and told me they are going to send me an email to reopen my case still waiting and no email a very untrustworthy company I strongly advise stay away from dodgy company like this one. Also they say one thing as soon as you put the fone down they do the opposite and put you in such a position where you get insurance next time the premium goes threw the roof

Having myself had insurance through Geoffrey it was the turn of my wife who took up an annual policy on her car. Paid by card in full at the time of purchase.
At the renewal stage she received a letter by post from Geoffrey saying they were sorry but could not provide a quote on the make and model of her car this time around. Letter arrived on 29th august 2025. Renewal date was 26th September 2025.
Of course my wife found another insurer and duly insured her vehicle.
On the 26th of September Geoffrey took close to 400 pounds straight out of our account based on the card they held on file. We rang immediately on the 26th September at which point Geoffrey took another close on 400 pound from an older card they held on file. The customer services apologised unreservedly and said please allow 3-5 days to be refunded. The second card potential payment we managed to get the bank to stop the payment so instead of potentially 800 pounds drawn out it was 400. Still a considerable sum when we had already paid out for new insurance through another company.
8 days later we are still waiting to be refunded and chasing today 4th October we are told it could be up to another 7 days. Clearly we are not happy and will be thinking twice about any future debit card payment where companies can draw down from your bank on a card held even if that card is no longer in use. Barclays did step in on the redundant card and managed to prevent a second grab of cash but we are still outstanding the renewal amount even though Geoffrey told us they couldn’t offer insurance on the vehicle.
