Very disappointed in this company- how…

Well first of all Justin was not the person that spoke to me or had any contact with me what so ever. He never returned my e-mail. And not I am not satisfied- I understand depreciation of a vehicle and let me tell you this one sat in the garage every day- was not out in the weather, was hardly driven at all for 5 months due to a surgery and Covid so put very few miles on it compared to normal usage. So there is no way an addition of less than 4000 miles took a vehicle from $35,000 to $17,000 no matter what you say. It is still in the very same shape now that it was when I received it so other than a good cleaning and going over it- is ready for any other person to purchase it! I feel you are doing an excellent job selling to people that you can take advantage of but doing nothing to help afterwards! And lets not forget months trying to get any answer from anyone there- and that was AFTER Covid and opening back up!
Very disappointed in this company- how can I vehicle go from a price of $35,000 to only worth $17,000 a year later- with only 3,000 miles added on to it. That doesn't say to much for the quality of your work to lose value like that. We desperately needed this vehicle and I believe that was and continues to be taken advantage of. I no longer need this van as my husband passed away but now at least I won't be upset to lose his van as I can't lose that kind of money that is still owed on this vehicle. Trying to figure out why vehicles older than mine on your website are selling for such a higher price while mine is worth so much less.

I learned about Freedom Motors online and was able to work with Kevin Barnes. When I called Kevin he was willing to come from Michigan to Iowa so that I could see the conversion and try it out before we bought a vehicle to convert.

Kevin went above and beyond and we really appreciate it!

Updated review, still not any better…

After posting the review below, I was asked to call them. I talked to the sales manager about the issues with “new” tires, and brakes. He asked if $1800 would cover it, and if so, would I take down my review. I agreed and removed my review from their Facebook page, then did not hear from them for a couple weeks as I waited for a check to arrive. I finally got in touch with the manager again and was told they would not send me the money because the vehicle passed all their inspections. The tires were not replaced with new tires, they were 3 year old tires, again at least 2 had rope plugs in them, causing the slow leaks. The brake pads had not been replaced because they consider 4mm of pad remaining as good. 3mm-4mm is when they should be getting replaced, according to Napa and other reputable sources. I also needed to purchase new Rotors for the rear wheels, which also “passed” their inspection. These minimal passing inspections are quite concerning when you are transporting a wheelchair bound loved one.

I was going to re-post this review on their Facebook page, but they blocked me from posting to their page after I agreed to remove the negative review. This is a pretty poor business practice after 1st agreeing to cover my expenses for the Tires & Brakes, then changing their mind when I removed the review immediately.

I like the vehicle, but the sales experience was less than stellar. The website does not list the type of conversion the van is, picked one out online after going to the factory to look at a few. The salesman was kind enough to meet us there on a Saturday to check them out. Got a good quote, only to find out it was not a full, but a half conversion, we looked at a full conversion. Picked out a different vehicle. Their website is terrible about accurate vehicle information!

Salesman told me new tires and brakes would be put on the van during their ”extensive” inspection by their mechanic. I am now finding out 4 months later that I will need new front and rear brakes and new tires as well. The tires are not new and most have plugs in them from previous damage, and the tread is much lower on 2 of them.

I was not told the vehicle would only come with a valet key, without a remote. Found that out after signing the papers and the single key was handed to me. Had to pay a dealer for a keyless remote, 2nd key, + programming.

A day after picking it up, the check engine light came on, it needed a new charcoal filter because it appeared to have been damaged during the conversion. Fortunately, Freedom took care of that repair.

Communication was slow with responses to questions as well. Overall a frustrating experience, but the vehicle is nice. I should not have taken the salesman’s word on things and had a 3rd party inspect things, it was all about telling me what I wanted to hear. Though I don’t know if that would have made a difference as it would have been inspected before the mechanic inspected it, and would probably still have ended up with the brakes and tires not being replaced. The salesman said the tires were dusty/dirty looking from sitting in the warehouse, but still told me they were new tires. And the brake drums weren’t clean looking because they did not need replaced, but told me the pads were replaced, they were not.

Conversion Mini van 2013 Chrysler Town & Country w/EZ Lock

Freedom motors is awesome! Mai McDonald was there to answer any of my questions day or night. ("Where's my van?"-- It's on the way! "Why is there an alarm going off?" Push the EZ Lock button.) I truly have to say he went above and beyond to find me the right van that would work for me. I am an owner of a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country conversion and I am an independent driver again! My husband and I purchased a 2017 Dodge Caravan with side entry for his wheelchair. It was the best purchase we ever made. We did our research on the purchase of a wheelchair ready vehicle. Freedom Motors was the best company we found. They delivered the vehicle to our front door in pristine condition. We just used our van this morning for the first time. It was easier to use than we expected. Our experience with Freedom Motors was excellent. Our salesman Erik was extremely helpful and professional. I will recommend this company to anyone who needs a handicap vehicle.

I have come to the conclusion that if…

I have come to the conclusion that if you are in need of a modified vehicle, stay away from these guys. The staff is nothing more than a bunch of ill-prepared used car salesmen, with minimal knowledge of the needs of the people they profess to serve. I was sold a vehicle that is, in retrospect, unable to meet my needs (I am a tetraplegic), despite the salesman's best attempts to convince me otherwise. I was ripped off.
Contrary to company policy, no measurements were ever taken. I fell for the assurances of the salesman. My bad. The real problem has been trying to resolve the issues. This is where the "used car salesmen" shine. I am trying to get a different vehicle that is approximately the same price but with a slightly larger layout. It has become a numbers game, having nothing to do with meeting the needs of the handicapped consumer.
I will be chatting this situation up in (all) the various spinal cord injury forums, in more detail. In the meantime, stay away from Freedom Motors.

Grace, Class, and Professionalism

We spent several weeks researching handicap accessible vans from local and online sources. We received a call from Justin who listened to our needs and presented vehicle and restraint/tie-down system options. He leveraged his expertise to help us factor in other considerations. He researched and appropriated resources to find a van to meet our needs. He never leveraged high-pressure salesmanship but was foremostly concerned with finding a safe, low-mileage, and affordable vehicle for us. We did purchase a van from a local dealership and have no regrets. When I reached out to Justin to inform him, he was gracious and seemed genuinely happy we found what we needed. Justin's time and expertise was helpful to us and he deserves the recognition and props for going the extra mile.

We bought a Chevy Silverado 1500…

We bought a Chevy Silverado 1500 conversion and it has been the biggest mistake ever. It went through quality control twice and still I have to keep fixing stuff. They glue the magnets on everything to work with the sensors and they keep falling off leaving us stuck wherever we are till I can get it fixed. It leaks air really bad cause the door doesn't seal right. The salesman tweaked the front fender before I left their parking lot with it, the fender needs to be replaced but all they did was realign it so there's a big gap and it sticks out a 1/4". I had spent a night there just so they could fix the door so it wouldn't hit the fender. Then after driving 9 hours home it didn't work and I had to take it 2 hours to the closest repair shop. I'm very dissatisfied with the truck and how ive been treated by them about it. This is my first negative comment I've made but I felt I needed to warn ours about these issues. I think we have to pay so much extra for these vehicles so we can enjoy life with our situations and we should get a high quality product in exchange.

10+ Stars! From beginning to end my experience with Freedom Motors c/o Dominic was great! Of course I had tons of questions, not ever having purchased a vehicle unseen was a bit nerve wracking to say the least however Dominic was very patient with me and my "repeated" questions. Thanks to technology and patient individuals such as Dominic we were able to communicate via telephone/text throughout the entire process. This has been by far the biggest investment I have ever made and Dominic was amazing at making me feel at ease with the whole process. I highly recommend Dominic/Freedom Motors to anyone in need of a wheelchair accessible vehicle! We love our 2016 Kia Sorento! It has been completely life changing and we couldn't be happier!

Be ware of the honesty of sales personnel

I Purchased a used Toyota sienna had asked the salesman to walk it and confirm that it was as clean as it looked on the photos and that the inside was OK. He got back to me and said that it was extremely clean in very good shape with no problems at all. When I got the van I had to sign off for quite a number of items that were damaged so that the delivery company wouldn’t get charged. There was rust on both sides that did not show on the pictures and was not told me by the salesman, inside the wiring for the attorney Chair is terribly frayed and will need to be replaced, I Called the salesman and ask him why he hadn’t told me about these things, he said well I never really was able to walk it because it was parked so closely between two other vans I couldn’t get to it so I just assumed it was OK. He had lied to me about his walk around. Also customer service is extremely poor as I asked him to have a manager called me and no one dead and I use their text link on the Website and did a chat with a chat link on the website and was told that someone would contact me, now after three weeks I still haven’t been contacted, poorest customer service of any I have ever experienced bar none.

I am very disturbed because the van we waited 8 weeks for was not what we received. When I spoke with Justine Laurette the sales manager he did not listen, he tried "sell me". We ordered 2 jump seats on a long channel ramp. We got bench seat across the second row making the van unusable. At no time did anyone express concern for the mistake. I was expected to fix the problem myself. When I order a customized vehicle I don't want to make changes. The administration was poor and unreliable.

I'm a new customer of Freedom Motors

I'm a new customer of Freedom Motors, I was going through a hard time because I had just wrecked my brand new truck. I just went to the bank last week to make my fourth payment and the wreck happened later that week. An old friend of my wife happened to call her out of the blue and My wife Laura told her what had happened. She directed us to Freedom Motors and that’s when I met James, he worked with me and put me in a beautiful 1915 pickup and him and Scott helped me more than I could ever ask for. They are truly kind and caring people and that’s hard to find in car dealers.
