Great facility but you still need to get you message out there!
The web site is great and easy to use, for setting up a project and for contributing to it - ie it was easy for people to make funding contributions. I guess what I hadn’t appreciated was how important it is to have an effective strategy for getting the message out to people who might want to contribute

When you crowdfund, typically only people that you know or friends of friends are likely to pledge. I'm sorry if you know this already, however people can sometimes be under the misconception that when they put a project on Crowdfunder, strangers will come and pledge lots of money on it. This unfortunately is not often the case in reality.
We recommend reaching out to friends, family, colleagues and other people in your close social circle to ask for support when launching your Crowdfunder. Then, once you have a good number of supporters behind the campaign, it's easier to spread the word and utilise social media.

Website is very easy to use, dashboard is good, engagement from crowdfunder team is very good.
Charging investors a fee, then charging fees again on payout was seen as a negative.

We're super happy to hear that you've found the platform easy to use and had the support you needed from our team.
We believe in fair pricing and full transparency on fees. Our standard platform fee for community shares such as your project is 3% + VAT on the first £300,000 raised and 2% + VAT on any amount raised over £300,000.
We do not charge supporters a fee on their donations/investment though. When making a payment, they do have the option to leave Crowdfunder a tip though. They can choose how much or how little, or if they want to tip at all.
The tip is used by Crowdfunder so that we can help more projects. We do not charge any platform fees for projects that are charitable causes, not for profit and personal fundraisers. We therefore rely on the generosity of those that can afford it, to tip the platform. It's through voluntary tips that we can break even and can cover our staff costs.
We hope to help you Crowdfund again in the future and if you need anything at all please don't hesitate to get in contact with us in the support team!

Half way there
We raised half of our target amount which will fund the first half of our leaflets for this year. Having never set up a fundraising account before, and not being a big fan of technology, it was relatively simple.
I have a better understanding of how this works now.

Payout shambles
Constant incorrect information from the chat bot & then a human re receiving my payout. Then a ‘bug’ in the system meaning my payout was delayed further despite being fully funded almost 1 month ago. Lack of urgency to expedite payment considering errors their side and me being £1k out of pocket as already had to fund myself

Fab service to help community projects
The template to construct a page to advertise the Crowdfunder is a great format and easy to use. The link with Sport England match funding is excellent. The rewards system is a great way to get local businesses involved. The support by email and over the phone was brilliant. Thank you for your help in achieving our resurfaced tennis courts!

We crowdfunded for our dog surgery I felt uncomfortable actually crowdfunding people kept telling me too and then someone set it up which was wonderful of them, it totally restored my faith in humanity as it was for my dog, it's all happened very quickly and managed to save him he's doing really well

Crowdfunder has allowed us to kick-start our appeal for funds to help save the Sussex Trug Industry from extinction. Sussex Trugs are known and loved all around the World and it is heartening that others share out passion.
