Pretty much what it says on the tin. This is the way to crowdfund a UK project. Good tools, good service, good handholding when you need it, good info, the platform gives you what you need. And actually, it's all a bit easier and nicer than "good this, good that". So yep, it was better than good :)

Great experience
The videos and support were very helpful, as were the tutorial meetings. The process of setting up the page was straightforward and we had quick answers to our queries
More flexibility over target dates would be helpful as we had a specific date that ran passed the 12 week maximum

You charge far too much commission
You charge far too much commission. Having spoken to many members or supporters of our club, they have said they refuse to support our cause through crowdfunder as they believe the charges you cream off are despicable.

Crowdfunder do not charge any platform fees for projects that are charitable causes, not for profit and personal fundraisers. We therefore rely on the generosity of those that can afford it, to make a voluntary tip to the platform.
When making a pledge or donation, supporters have the option to leave Crowdfunder a tip. They can choose how much or how little to give, or if to tip at all by using the slider to adjust the percentage or by entering a 'custom amount'.
Any tips are used by Crowdfunder so that we can help more projects. It's through voluntary tips that we can break even and can cover our staff costs.

Very disappointed using Crowdfunder
Very disappointed using Crowdfunder . They charge donators a ‘voluntary’ 10% of donation and the charge for ‘transaction fees. ‘ from the money donated . Poor I would advise using other platform as this feels a bit wrong .

Good for charities due to match-funding
Match-funding made a huge difference to our campaign so for that reason alone I would have given 5 stars. The reason I gave 4 stars is because it was a bit confusing as to how the charity page related to the project page and there seemed to be a lot of duplication in the admin. The communications also give the impression that it will be easy to get answers to any questions you have but actually I couldn't find a way to just call someone with questions and it took a long time for anyone to respond to questions I submitted by the online contact form.

We would love it if we could manage to speak to everyone on the phone, however, with up to 200 projects added a day, we just cannot speak to everyone and only talk over the phone if absolutely necessary.
We are a small team and want to help as many people as possible in a day and email is the best way to do this. We aim to answer all queries within 1 working day, although during busy periods this can take a little longer.

Say that it's free, then charge supporters and also withdrawal at end. It would be better if they were honest upfront, people wouldn't mind so much.

I'm sorry that you didn't find the information about fees clear when setting up your Crowdfunder page. We have our full list of fees on our website and before you set your page live, your fee structure was displayed along with our Terms & Conditions for you to agree to.
We have waived our Crowdfunder Platform fees for charities, community and personal projects. You were charged 0% platform fee by Crowdfunder but please note the payment processor we use will still charge their fee which is typically 2.4% plus 20p per transaction (plus VAT).
When making a pledge or donation, supporters have the option to leave Crowdfunder a tip. They can choose how much or how little to give, or if they would like to tip at all.
The tip is used by Crowdfunder so that we can help more projects. As we do not charge any platform fees for projects that are charitable causes, not for profit and personal fundraisers, we therefore rely on the generosity of those that can afford it, to tip the platform. Looks the part, little disorgnaised
Looks the part, but terribly convoluted when you are a charity looking to use the platform. Registering took an age, and even when that was done, they misallocated you as a completely different entity, and welcomed you as a political party and not a charity.
If I am to trust them to keep dononations safe, and ensure those donations are allocated to the charity and not disappear elsewhere, then I need something a little more organised, and little more trustworthy.

Crowdfunder gave me the chance to have my beautiful little dog operated on and now her life is pain free .Vet fees are ridiculous and even with pet insurance (they wouldn’t pay) it was out of my reach
