Customer service
Hi, Firstly I would just like to say that I am certainly not a Victor Meldrew 😂 & wouldn’t be writing this review as I have better things to do with my time, moving to Clanfield Hampshire recently with my lovely family,is turning out to be great, lovely people and all the local shops really nice, the only problem I have is the Co op convenience store, you forever waiting to be served, it’s a joke, most of the staff are reasonably happy & helpful, but there’s a couple of younger lads who work there , they are so unbelievably miserable, don’t talk no please or thank you, basically Absolutely no customer skills at all maybe they don’t want to work there anymore or something, I think Co op area manager needs to certainly visit the store a bit more often and use his expertise in ironing out some rather large issues, I really do think that the lovely people of Clanfield deserve better 😄
Co op.free will writing scam
I Thought when I wrote a will I would do it through a Charity....clicked online to a barnadoes children charity ... suddenly I'm on a co op so called will writing service who ask how much cash you have ...then a email telling you when you will receive a phone call....very organised and lots of levels for something thats supposed to be free ....month later you you get a phone call to make sure your gonna be Available that day for your pre booked phon call to write your will for free ....then you receive the actual phine call ....I told the very polite will writer on the end of the line that i lived on.a boat and so i didnt have a postal address ....he wasnt happy with response and initially said they needed an address to send the written will to . I told him I had an of a friend he could see it too ....no he said has to be where your living ....but i replied after I write this will I could change my address in years in the future ....he got annoyed and saud he had anotber appointment. I suspect this is not a free service ....it's a scam and they need an address to invoice bill you and then send the debt collectors around ....avoid this complay

Doing a Co-op online food order? Check this out first.
No stars merited. Approx. 2 months ago I became a member online of the Co-op as I liked that they do quick on the day orders to my area. Had a full order in my basket. They limit the amount you spend so I had approx. £68 in my basket just under the limit. I could not check out at all. I am 77 have never owned a mobile just a landline. I had my landline number on the order. This had been accepted AND NOT REJECTED. I phoned helpline as I was stuck in the order and was worried about my payment details showing and the call was answered by an African male voice. Told him my situation. He asked me some security questions. He told me I CANNOT DO AN ONLINE ORDER WITH CO-OP IF I HAVE A LANDLINE THEY ONLY ACCEPT ORDERS WITH MOBILE PHONE CONTACT NUMBER. I asked for his name and he said ADOUBOWALLE-maybe not exact-and then asked to speak to a manager as I could not believe it was true. He quickly hung up on me. I backtracked and deleted all my order but I was so scared and thought for weeks it was a scam although I saw the protective padlock on the site. I have checked and I am a member, they keep sending food offers the last one on 26/10/2024 for quick delivery. I emailed a complaint to tell them my experience. It was an unmonitored box. I telephoned today to let them know. A male answered and found my email complaint - imagine which goes to an unmonitored box so complaints can be seen after all when they want. He went and spoke to a manager and confirmed you need a mobile to get a food delivery from the co-op so the driver can phone you. Said it is just the way they work and something like cannot be fixed. Can you believe it? They were still able to take my £1 membership fee from my bank.

Streatham Hill has to be one of the most racist shops I have ever been to. The security will harass you from the moment you step in to the moment you leave. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Awful
Avoid their home delivery from their Archway store, North London. Delivered to the wrong address then refused to do a re delivery as it would unbalance their stocks!!!! Awful place... not going near them again....

My husband and I were at the coop shotts on Monday 23 September we ended up leaving because of the horrendous noise from the self checkouts they were so loud and all say different words at different times. My husband works with sound and he said the noise was far to loud We spoke to a lovely lady when we we left but my god please go back to the normal tills

Went into my local Co-op just now (Hucclecote Gloucester) & they appear to have stopped selling cabbage! They stopped selling fresh garlic a while back too. I couldn't find any bars of soap this morning either. Asked the polite lady at the checkout about both & got no rational explaination. (Not her fault, it's the so called 'Management'.
Sorry to say this but I will use Aldi from now on, just half a mile further away...
Been a lifelong user of the Co-op, spent many thousands there in my lifetime. My mothers first job was with the Finedon (Northants) Co-op in the 1940s & our family was brought up on their food, etc. even their Funeral Services, Insurance & Banking. (Our Co-op Divi number in the 50s was 1208, I remember it well)
Not any more, I've had enough at 80years of age. The Co-op has squandered all their long established goodwill, & it is sad to see.
Not existent Customer Service
COOP does not look into complaints against their staff instead they are swept under the carpet.
Disgusting customer service

Co-op Joel Street, Pinner
Co-op Joel Street, Pinner. I was served by a very childish horrible girl Katie. She is leaving in 2 weeks and feels she can treat people like rubbish. The Incident: There were 3 people serving behind the cigarette counter. I went to the server next to her. Katie decided he should stop serving and go on to the shop floor. I then went to Katie and she accused me of pushing in. This was not the case. I tried to explain and she started shouting at me. Then started pulling nasty aggressive faces at me and then refused to serve me. I waited for the Asian man to serve me, who was the only other person behind the counter serving next to her. The two shop assistants were frightened and terrified of her. When I stated I would complain she said ‘Do what the (expletive starting with ‘f’ ) you like’ - I am leaving in 2 weeks. I DONT CARE! This behavior was appalling! Surely the Co op cannot afford to lose customers.
The local co-op in Market Lavington…
The local co-op in Market Lavington keep jumping their prices from real £1.50 price for lets say for example Ginsters Pasties to £2.50. I have done youtube videos on my 60k youtube channel explaining why this is not nice and written to them complaining and they still do it. Whenever they do this people from the village go and shop in Devizes and save tens of pounds on their shop. Its up to you co-op stop abusing your customers like this or lose the custom. I have had to complain in the past they were closing the shop early but then they stopped doing this. The staff there are amazing by the way. The manager is brilliant but its not their fault as the prices are passed down to them from head office who make them reprice stuff daily.... yes daily. Its up to you head office. Listen or lose.

Co-op formby
Ordered food which never arrived after two hours I contacted store to be told the driver collecting food refused to bring it . Can anyone explain why ? and no communication from store that it was cancelled !!! ???
Update : contacted customer service to be told wrong use if language used by shop order not by driver he just refused it ?? and picked up another ticket I am none the wiser except it comes from Uber eats deliveries. I will not use co-op again they do not seem to have any control over orders plus head office do not seem to care !
The Co Op don't care
After a bad slip and fall at the Burry Port branch was assured the co op would contact me. They didn't. So I wrote to "Customer Care" explaining what could be done to make the store safer. After a long period they replied with a mostly irrelevant response that ignored the points and questions raised. They claim to be yma i helpu Porth Tywyn (Here to help Burry Port). They're not interested in what the public have to say at all!

The Lyntott co op in southwater is great. The make over is sad, not much change to be fair. The whinge about the Lady with short brown hair is unjust unless you know her. Anyway she is a Chelsea fan so just take the mick, I do. But she means well. The staff that have been here for a long time are fantastic and helpful. I won't any comment yet on the younger men that are serving here but they could do with a welcoming smile please.
