Appalling Customer Service! Avoid!

Never experienced such poor customer service! Rude, opinionated responses, blaming me as a customer when item description inadequate and does not include all facts of the product. Never pick up the phone, and have now not responded to my last three emails. It's been months of trying to get them to take responsibility/response/refund or just some compensation, but you just get ignored. Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing as all reviews seem to be the same, money grabbing company that don't take responsibility for their products or value their customers. I shall not be returning to use Cherry Lane Garden Centre!

Updated Nov 22 - contacted customer services again as suggested below. Still remains the worse customer service I've ever experienced! Do not value their customers and would rather gain a negative review to showcase how awful they are rather than provide any customer support. I've now given up trying seeing they won't reply to emails! Really would avoid at all costs! Terrible!

Almost always overcharged. Strange you are never undercharged!

I have been overcharged 4 out of the last 5 occasions. Today alone I was overcharged twice at their Lowestoft store. The first time was when buying our compost and top soil. We have two bags of each. The cashier charged me for 5 bags. The second time was being charged £6.99 for a £4.99 pair loppers. The first cashier was pleasant enough and apologised for her error. The second one responded rudely when I expressed my irritation at being overcharged again.
It is only a few weeks since our bill had 3 errors and it took them nearly 15 minutes to sort it out.
This has happened to us previously and I discovered the errors when I got home. It is not worth driving back for a few pound.
I spoke to a manager who was apologetic enough, but I would urge everyone to check their receipts carefully before leaving the store. In particular multi savers will often not go through and goods will go through at a higher price than the ticket price. Add that to careless scanning you can end up being charged a lot more. Our previous bill was over £12 out.
It is rarely a pleasure to shop here.

Very poor Customer Service

Visited Langford garden centre hoping to buy some garden furniture. Staff very vague about delivery charges so decided to order online hoping to get 10% discount by downloading app. Had problems with ordering through app so tried calling Customer Service & finally gave up after 45 mins on hold. Unable to find phone number for Head Office. Luckily then read Trustpilot reviews 78% bad(1 star) which has made me think this isn’t a Company I want to spend over £400 with so will probably look elsewhere.

Ordered a 100cm Yucca indoor online on…

Ordered a 100cm Yucca indoor online on Cherry Lane website unfortunately I was told there was upto 10-14 delivery delay so asked to cancel then to be told the next day it had shipped 🤦🏻‍♀️ right when I had ordered another one from another supplier. It arrived the next day with my other one that I bought both were in great condition but couldn’t keep them both so I kept the larger one and gave the smaller one to a family member!

Overall great value and great communication with the online staff could not fault them it was just poor comms with there supplier advising wrong information but ThankQ 👍🏻

Definitely more Positives than Negatives!

Big fan of our local Cherry Lane garden centre. Great products but the staff are the best thing about it, really lovely people! I also recently used their online shop. Delivery charges are a bit high, and it takes a while to get through to their customer service via phone if you need to. But once I did, I have to say that the service provided by Dan was excellent.

No staff hygiene in the cafe

We’ve always enjoyed a visit to Barnett Hill with the range of goods on offer in the store and cafe. Today we visited looking forward to coffee and cake. The young fair haired lad who was taking the orders was messing with his nose, wiping it onto his hand and then he used his apron as a tissue. Well this put us right off! Left the cafe and went to Webb’s instead.

Ordered the Croft Ergo 6 seater set

Ordered the Croft Ergo 6 seater set - The picture shows a parasol and seat cushions - Description shows parasol is sold separate. When I enquired it turns out they do not stock that particular parasol at all, so there is no chance of getting 1 to match this particular colour.

When the set arrived it had no cushions, again pictured on the advert. When I went back to the website it turned out they have 2 descriptions for the same product.

The delivery driver was sent out alone with a van full of solid wood goods, clearly meant for 2 people to be lifting - I had to help unload the van as I felt sorry for him.

Ridiculous. I'd never ever use these again.

Felt obligated to write a review…

Felt obligated to write a review considering how many bad reviews they have on this site. Delivery was fast and straight forward. was able to track the small items which were delivered the next day. The larger item (3m pergola) was delivered within the time frame stated so no need to chase etc. I was a bit worried when I first ordered (after reading the reviews that is). However there was no need to be as the delivery was fast and straight forward and the product were great. Thank you Cherry Lane, keep it up. will be ordering a lot more often and will also recommend to friends and family. #PeaceNLuv

Staff attitude

Just returned from my local Cherry Lane, they had over charged me on a plant purchase, the till assistant requested a senior member of the team who then came over and accused me of being rude to her staff. The only person being rude was her. She advised the price was correct (no prices anywhere to be seen at the price charged) only signs advising 2Ltr pots for £4.99.

Would not give a refund only a credit note to spend in store. As I will not be returning to Cherry Lane GC again I dontated the credit note to a friend.

Can’t really fault them

Can’t really fault them. Amazing prices, great products. Had a bit of an issue but Zara from customer services absolutely nailed it. Couldn’t try harder to ensue I was satisfied. Buy from this place. Incredible.

Really disappointed in the attitude and…

Really disappointed in the attitude and customer service
I bought many bags of compost to plant up mainly my bedding plants and some other plants that needed repotting.
Compost was labelled 'organic' but whilst digging away in it I came across various plastic pieces including tablet blister pack, plaster, various broken crockery and broken glass, lots of very large sticks and white mould.
Very poor response to my complaint and request to know what they would be doing and what the manufacturer would be doing. No response to my question about how this can be labelled as organic. This must be from household green bins so how on earth can they know what substances such ad weedkiller is used by householders and how can they monitor what goes in their organic compost ???

RECENT TAKEOVER…

Visited the newly taken over Cherry Lane Garden Centre just outside Gainsborough yesterday. Truly wish I hadn’t as the experience was horrendous in all depts. The outside plants were literally half dead as they ckearky hadn’t been watered in ages and many of the display stands had massive weeds growing up through them. The quality of the items in cafe looked stale & uninviting and my coffee which I purchased was so weak it was like drinking hot milk only. At the till there was only 1 staff member who was clearly not in any hurry despite there being a massive queue. There were no staff anywhere on hand to answer any queries and I watched several people just walk out in disgust. Until you took this Garden Centre over it was worthwhile visiting it, now, I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy and will not be returning anytime soon

Dont bother with Customer Services !

Purchased an outdoor rug for 29.99 from Pulham Market. When unwrapped we found it was faulty. As the nearest shop is a 25 mile round trip I contacted 'Customer Services'online. The word customer service is a complete joke. I was informed they couldnt help and I had to return it to the shop. Obviously not worthwhile with the distance, time and price of fuel. Who would recompense me for that? Also I knew it was the last one of that size so I wouldnt even have a rug at the end of it! Will not be using them again

I ordered a plant from here and on Web…

I ordered a plant from here and on Web site it said 7-9 days before delivery and I would be sent an email when dispatched from supplier.I had to email cherry Lane as I hadn't received an email and it was getting to a point I just felt there was something wrong,they got in touch with the supplier that rang me and said I ordered plant on 27th May and it was delivered at my neighbours on 1st June well I was annoyed with supplier as I was in on this date and I asked which neighbour and where was card that would have told me this ,to which I was asked do I want another plant or refund, I went with refund but was told I had to get back in touch with cherry Lane which I did by email and was immediately refunded.Thankyou cherry Lane for your help in this matter that was dealt with quickly it would have been 5stars if the supplier had delivered.

Damaged item

Shocking! Damaged garden planter arrived, which was of poor quality even if perfect. A replacement part was to be sent, but the courier couldn't confirm my address even though they delivered the defective planter to same one. Cannot get a refund until the defective item is returned, but I have to arrange the courier and they don't pick up the phone. 6 weeks of trying to get a refund I've gone through credit card chargeback route now. Would avoid this retailer.

Terrible service

Terrible service, I could less than 1 star I would. Ordered pergola waited 2 weeks,no delivery, called so many times I loss count both me and my partner! Try emailing, Facebook and instagram to get response that was a waste of time too. They were going to send a replacement order then didn't because I responded after 5pm,there was always an excuse to why they didn't respond, eventually got refund when I said I would open small claims against them, I recommend using Garden store direct Instead, they seem to know how to run a company

In relation to the fritton centre

In relation to the fritton centre, near gt Yarmouth…..
Go elsewhere, my elderly grandmother recently bought some bedding plants,when getting them home they where worse for wear, she didn’t realise at the time that they hadn’t been watered properly, none of them survived.
This garden centre sells over priced poor quality plants!
Go elsewhere!
