1. 12 month physical is rediculous. I visit the VA a minimum of every 6 months. Also, I renew 3rd class medical religeously. Technically, per FAA, don't need FAA medical. Can fly my aircaft with driver's license.

2. Flight review with insructor every 12 months is also
rediculous, especially since I am more qualified in my aircraft type then 90% of said instructors.

3. Seems like Avemco is going down the AOPA road, neither of which I may desire their services in the future.

When I need to call Avemco, I get, not just a live person, but also a live person who can actually answer my questions and solve my problem.

Avemco “walks the talk” in impressive ways! I originally switched to them because they were willing to insure me for flying my piston twin as an older pilot when my long-term carrier arbitrarily cancelled. They have continued to do so, even after passing benchmark birthdays which are no-go’s for other companies. I have found Paul Athey and other staff to be nothing short of phenomenon to work with. They are responsive and communicate freely, which is refreshingly unusual today. The ability to speak with those actually involved with underwriting is an unusually helpful privilege, impossible with others, but just in a day’s work for Avemco. I also appreciate the company’s efforts to promote flight safety to the entire community, not simply to Avemco customers. The webinars they offer are on topic, well done and extremely helpful. In particular, Kim Skipper’s thoughtful insight and commitment to safety reflects upper management’s attitude. I’m both grateful and proud to be an Avemco customer. On a 1 to 10 they get a 23!!!

Helpful kind people who are always ready to answer questions and assist. Fast customer service when calling to update policies, renew insurance etc. Everything is always taken care of swiftly and with no hassle.

I have known AVEMCO since 1979. It’s a world class insurance company that exercises integrity, honesty and impeccable customer/client services. A top class company indeed.

For the most part the experience was good. We suspended in-flight coverage in mid term of the annual policy cycle. Having previously paid the annual premium in full this gave us a credit for the next annual renewal. Unfortunately, the multiple renewal invoices we received did not reflect the credit. When calling Avemco (multiple times) to inquire even the staff had trouble finding the credit. It was mildly frustrating.
