My Freesat dish stopped working and I booked a job for the next day with Aerial care on their website. I received an aknowledgement text from a company called Home Digital Services. At first, I thought Aerial care were a local company, but I became suspicious when I get the text message from a different company. So I looked at reviews on Trustpilot, and I became alarmed at the many negative reviews. I sent a message via Aerial Care website saying that I wished to cancel the job. I received an email saying I needed to log into my account, then look at "my bookings", and cancel the appointment. I do not have an account with the company. I did a chat on the website and requested that the booking be cancelled. I received a reply saying that it would be cancelled straight away. I wait a few minutes, then asked for confirmation that the job had been cancelled. I received this confirmation. I took screen shots of the chat and saved them. The next day, the day of the booking, an engineer from EDS showed up and I told him I had cancelled the job and had proof of cancellation. He said okay, he'd let the company know. That was 47 minutes ago, and his van is still parked at near my drive. Ah, it is now leaving about 50 mins after arrival. I hope this is the last I hear from aerial care/HDS

My mum is 88, partially sighted, housebound, and extremely frail. When her TV signal failed, a relative who lives nearby found a company online that seemed suitable and arranged a visit. I live far away, so I couldn’t be there myself.
The company was scheduled to come on Tuesday 2nd September but didn’t arrive until Friday 5th. They installed a new aerial and charged my mum £486—this was supposedly after applying a discount for her being an OAP. They left the old aerial in her garden, and when she asked if it could be removed (as she’s physically unable to do so), the engineer said he couldn’t help.
Unfortunately, the TV signal issues persisted after the installation—picture loss and pixelation continued. I contacted the company, and they said someone would come on Tuesday 9th September, or sooner if possible. No one contacted me, but someone did turn up unannounced at 8:30am on Monday 8th. He adjusted something behind the TV and left. The problem remained unchanged.
I followed up again and was told someone would call me back, but no one ever did.
Overall, this experience has been deeply frustrating. The service was unreliable, communication poor, and the issue remains unresolved despite a significant payment. I’m particularly concerned about how vulnerable customers—like my mum—are treated. I would urge others to be cautious and seek out companies with a proven track record of transparency and reliability. I would not recommend this company and advise anyone to totally avoid them.

Absolute cowboys. Booked a repair, said they would be there between 12 - 3, rang from a 0330 number automated voice to say they weren' t coming. I rang them, woman i spoke to couldn't have cared less.
They need closing down.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. NOT LOCAL. DOUBLE THE PRICE OF ANYONE ELSE. ONCE YOU DEAL WITH THEM THEY USE AN AUTOMATED SYSTEM THAT DOESNT WORK. AVAID AT ALL COST.

I'm not sure if I pressed voice guide on my tv but the voice has been very, annoying and I could not stop it. On attempting I must have done something and the tv would not work. Aerial Doctor came within a couple of hours and within 5 minutes Jez from Aerial Doctor had worked his magic and normality resumed. Well done Jez, much appreciated. I highly recommend this company.

Do not use this firm. They are not local as stated. They advise there’s no call out charge, but we were hit with an £138 charge and the issue was not resolved. You cannot call to complain or request a visit as it’s an automated service. They log your number. We tried another phone and got straight through.

This company would improve if it closed down. The people who do the fitting are pleasant enough if not very efficient. The came to us because certain channels were pixilating. The recommended a new ariel and pole firstly at a totally exorbitant price and then after I refused, they beat themselves down to a price I accepted, they did the job and when they left we still had a little pixilation but they cured the other 6 channels by totally removing them!!! I asked them to come next day to put this right and was told by the engineer the installation was wrong and that we'd need a longer pole and an amplifier. The con man in the office then asked for another £100 to put their poor work right. I refused to pay for something which was their responsibility to fix. Trading standards next I'm afraid

How could this company improve? They could turn up on the day appointment was made, and not keep postponing till the next day or the next.

Do not trust these people, my elderly mother has just been charged £113 plus vat for a few feet of coax cable and to tune a television with tunes itself after you press the menu button a few time.

Booked appointment for Friday, only to get a recorded message saying they would come Saturday. Then Saturday the recorded message said Monday. Then Monday the recorded message said Tuesday.
What a waste of time. I would not trust them to do any work for me after this shabby deception of 'same day appointment'

Booked an appointment on-line. Nobody turned up at allocated time-spent 45 minutes trying to get through to them. When I finally managed I was told they couldn’t come out as they were fully booked. Why allow you to book online for specific time slots if they are not available?? AVOID and use a reputable LOCAL company

I pre booked my appointment on line for Monday 22nd of April for a time slot of 8am to 1pm ,I waited in ,no phone call nothing ,at 1.45 pm I got a automated call saying they could not come today , and they would come on Tuesday, don't bother this company is extremely unreliable

If you are thinking of using this company think again,they overcharge pensioners it is a total rip off these people prey on vunerable,the prices can not be justified less than 10 minuites work cos my 84 year old father £145 plus 20% vat total cost £174,disgusting company with several names and claim to be local.Need to be shut down.

Absolutly disgusting come out to secure my fathers ariel as it come loose,he wasnt here 10 minuites,he put 2 screws in to secure it and charged my father £174,i really am disgusted,he is 83 years old, have they no shame at all, Well next trading standads and rogue traders because rest assured i will not rest untill this company rectify this as they have way over charged.They will tell you it is a set price once they come to your property but will not tell you this over the phone apparantly they have to assess the work .how he could do that before he went up the ladder is beyond me. They are not a local company as they say they are a franchise using another name

This company purport to be local by using a paid for local phone number. They are not local. Diagnosed an LNB fault with sat dish, charged £180 discounted to £162 for age. Later found LNB cost is £15 from Screwfix, so adding in 20 mins labour it seems they charge around a rate of £441/hr. Complained, offered a £50 discount which I refused. My Credit Card Co refunded £100 so net cost £62 which is reasonable. Do not use these people, their charges are outrageous, they pressurise you whilst on site to go ahead. Avoid or suffer the rip off costs.

Excelllent service from this company. Phoned one day and they installed an aerial the very next day. All very professional and pleasant to deal with.

Avoid. They appear like a local business; they're not. Engineer turned up late in a rental van, surveyed work required for an additional aerial socket, then 'the office' rung with a quote whilst engineer still there saying he could do the work immediately.£180 for an additional socket....told them no thanks and did the work ourselves

An engineer called to inspect and give me a quote. There was a call out charge of £15, which would be taken off the final bill if I went ahead with the work.
The engineer gave me a verbal quote and I explained I would require that in writing. This was only provided when I phoned several days later to ask for my £15 to be returned. There are plenty of other providers who will come out and estimate without any cost

Wish I'd checked these out before getting in contact.
They sent a young lad that could barely grunt a few words. He then said "I can't do it as it's very icy".
Didn't seem to know what he was doing anyway and asked me what would I do?
The boss rang and gave a ridiculous price, then offered discount. Said the lad could do it today! After I said no, he discounted more so I put the phone down.
What a shambles.

This company has just taken advantage of my elderly mother and charged her an utterly ridiculous amount for work on her aerial. Will be notifying trading standards.
