Why?
As the cupboard doors will be delivered damaged, a cupboard will be missing and will have to be reordered, and the fitter (from SLP / Stanza) will fit it so badly that most of the kitchen needs replacing!
Below is the list of issues with my kitchen, which I have sent to the aftercare team three times, and are still unsure of the issues outstanding.
• Wall units have not been fitted flush with the wall which has resulted in them fitted on an angle. The pelmet/cornice highlights this. This can also be seen as the two side wall cabinets there is an angle gap either side of the extractor, these should be flush.
• The extractor door and oven plinth have not been fitted symmetrically with different gaps with the fan bottom itself on show.
• The pelmet/cornice are not correctly fitted and should be equal along the unit normally flush with the doors or a 5mm equal overhang.
• The end wall units have no filling top and bottom therefore leave an ugly gap underneath and top. The bottom wall units cornices have visible screw holes in them.
• Damage to the underside corner wall unit and a bracket that should not be there as the units again should be flush to the walls by scribing the back ends of the carcase to follow the contour of the wall, but I think mostly poorly fitted.
• Nearly all vertical and horizontal handles are not straight, double doors the handles are not equal apart on each side.
• The worktop joint edge has not been cut well or jointed well resulting in a ragged edge and a lip. This is not satisfactory for cleaning. The underneath joint section the cutting swarth has not been addressed.
• The long section of the worktop along the window/sink area the gap from the worktop to the wall is too big of a gap - tiles will not make up the difference. This is probably due the unit edges not been scribed to follow the contour of the wall to allow the units to be flush and plumb.
• The sink has been poorly fitted with one of the carcases butchered to have a clip fitted, I cut my finger on the laminate cut edge!
• I was also a bit shocked when the plumber cored a hole through the wall after the units had been fitted, he has solvent welded up the waist resulting in the access back panel cannot come off to access the isolation valves, no holes have been drilled to access the isolation valves. Plus, I believe the waist pipe has not been sealed resulting in a draft, but more importantly the old waste pipe the other sink unit has been fitted without sealing up the old wall hole.
• The dishwasher has no aluminium seal under the worktop/unit edge. The dishwasher is poorly fitted and not flush with the adjacent units.
• I was also shocked to see the kitchen fitter place one of the units front and back legs on some melamine strip as a new floorboard had not been fitted from electricians work yet the new section of floorboard was next to the unit to insert. Next day my dad asked the fitter to remove the unit, and he fitted the new section of floorboard in front of the kitchen fitter.
• The doors have not been levelled / balanced, doors units damaged scratches, there was loads of rubbish left under the units behind the bottom kick board. The joint on the kick board is not the best.
• When I turn the tap on the waist water goes down the outside wall over the hopper as there is no 45 fitting on to direct into hopper, holes in the wall, etc,
Overall, the whole kitchen has not been fitted to a standard I think Wickes would like to put their name to.
Two months on from the kitchen being ‘fitted’, the kitchen is not yet functional due to being incomplete, and there is no sign of the issues being put right… The after-care team had the nerve to question why my kitchen wasn’t functional, and they won’t send anyone out to see the kitchen in person.
I have had enough and have requested by deposit back and for the kitchen to be removed under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, as they’ve had enough time to put the issues right. Then, I will get a kitchen from elsewhere and find a professional kitchen fitter to fit my kitchen.

The design consultant Sam Liu was very professional, he designed our new kitchen for us perfectly, we went for one of the bespoke range kitchen units and the look of them looks great, we are very much looking forward to having our new kitchen fitted, Customer service was exceptional

Joke of a company .
And wickes advertise on the radio saying get a new kitchen or bathroom fitted , try 8 months and still counting. I wouldn't buy a tin of paint off them now, shambolic from top to bottom.
And now i know similar thing has happened to two other families i no so it's just not a one off, rip off.
Good thing is am not paying a penny to them so there will have to take me to court and explain how useless there are , cheats, liars and definitely useless, so be warned please don't buy off wickes, buy from elsewhere

Had to get some bags of sand & cement for a job tomorrow, but got a bad back.
Brian saw us struggling & offered to help lift the bags onto the trolley for us. We asked if he was finished, but he was on a break. He also took the trolley off us in the car park & unloaded the bags into the boot. Really appreciated the help & Brian was very professional. Great to see someone who cares about providing good customer service as these days it’s a rarity. Thank you Brian.

I’ve moved house recently and it has been massively stressful but I must commend Abbey for the work she has done as our designer.
