My solicitor and her assistant were both very supportive during a difficult time in my life. They were both very professional but also empathetic and sensitive to my needs. I was helped to make sensible financial decisions during a hugely emotional time. I wasn’t allowed to capitulate when I so easily could have done. Whilst the process was protracted and costly the end result was acceptable due to the hard work of my solicitor. Costs were comparable to other local solicitors.

I’m writing this, not through personal experience but for my son.
After losing his father quite suddenly in 2023, my son chose to use Wards to deal with his father’s estate, as they were supposedly experts in probate. Bearing in mind, there was no will and paperwork/financial matters were all over the place but nevertheless Wards took the work on and it is only just very recently that this matter has just been settled, after 27 months!!
The way my son has been dealt with is unbelievable, emails not being answered, phone calls not being returned, paperwork being sat in someone’s out tray for a couple of months before being forwarded for a signature etc, the list goes on, all just quite unprofessional.
The state of my son’s mental health was fragile to say the least but this experience made it 10 times worse. Not only the stress and worry that it caused but he has not been able to grieve the loss of his father properly because he’s had this to deal with. I’m furious!!
So in short, in you want a quick, smooth, stress free experience don’t use Wards!!
