Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Referral was very efficient. We were at the out of hours surgery within 15 mins of the initial call.Waiting was minimal considering there were a number of pets ahead of us.the vet was very good at calming both us & our dog.Treatment options were clearly explained & we were at the heart of the decision.Would recommend.Only reason for 4 not 5 stars was fact they uploaded wrong pet record to our vet when we had a follow up appointment.

Can't fault the care friendliness and help. But all the Vets fees plus vat £385.22p are way too much, and all the medication cost was just £7.52p total bill £392.72p 😥

We waited 2.5hrs in the waiting room for a start. I thought the whole idea of there being an emergency situation meant that your pet would be seen as such. I witnessed desperate, tearful people holding sick pets outside pressing the buzzer and the receptionist was away from the desk and people having to get up from the waiting area to allow them access. We were eventually seen by a not so friendly vet. She don’t really greet us. She examined our pet and suggested two options. One would have included imaging and a stay over, bloods etc. The latter was an injection and meds. We opted for the latter. Our bill was almost £500 for a two and a half hour wait and approx 8 minutes with a vet. We’ve since discovered that the surgery charged us 4 x the amount we could have bought th exact same medication via Amazon!
I gave 3 stars simply because my beloved pet has now recovered. Every other aspect of visiting the emergency vet stinks! It’s a complete rip off and they know you are at their mercy and will pay anything to make things better for your beloved pet. I shudder to think how much our first option may have cost us. Would have probably needed to remortgage!

Contacted vets now in Milton Keynes when my dog ingested rat poison. Staff were extremely helpful and polite and acted rapidly to treat my pet. Vet we saw was absolutely amazing. Not only did she act quickly to treat my dog but also kept me fully informed throughout our time there. Cannot praise staff highly enough! Also very helpful in dealing with insurance which took a lot of stress from me, this being the first time I’ve needed to make a claim.

The vet was clearly very experienced and I felt reassured that my cat was in good hands. I do think that emergency veterinary bills in general are far too high. But I was very happy with the outcome and my cat made a full recovery.

The staff at Vets Now Milton Keynes were very helpful and friendly, the vet saw our cat Kiki straight away a pedigree Bengal cat 12 years old. She was very thorough with Kiki and instructed us what to do with her the following days. She also gave Kiki an anti inflammatory injection plus she also gave us some anti inflammatory medication to give Kiki for 5 days. We found Vets Now very helpful and willing, great vets.

Had to take my Leonberger at midnight due to concerns of GDV. The vet listened to my concerns and told me exactly what they can do to help. He stayed overnight and the whole staff were very kind to both myself and my boy. Luckily he was absolutely fine but having him stay overnight helped ease my concerns.

Emergency out of hours vets, VetsNow, were able to see our unwell dog promptly.
Zoe, the vet who looked after our dog, listened to our explanation of what happened/symptoms, and she was thorough in examining/treating our dog.

Very very bad experience, specialy with one female doctor who didn't introduce herself. She was rude, bossy and was pushing me to put sleep my dog Carlos. She said: "he has no red blood cells at all", " in his heart the atriums work only, ventricles does not work at all, there are no valves".
She said: " he has intestines failure too, 'apparently' she saw some mucus coming out from him ... which was absolutely not possible, because before I came he made normal poo in the garden.
She said : " your dog is not making wee, he is having kidney failure "
She almost made me to agree to kill my boy.
They said: "when you take him outside of the box with oxygen, he will die ".
Actually when I took him outside of the building on the fresh air, to say " goodbye" he didn't went worse at all. I put him on the grass and he immediately made a lot of wee.
I decided to take my dog back home.
My dog was so stressed when I got him back from them ....
She provided for me and my boy traumatic experience.
In the morning Tuesday I went with my dog to our vet and he is having medications and slowly is doing better. Of course he is old boy but he definitely is able to have comfortable life. He has very appetite.
They gave me bill for £1250 for that traumatic service. I paid already £800 ....
I could write much more about this bad experience.

We barely saw the vet and she didn’t seem to care. One injection to make the dog sick then nearly an hour with no help or support even when we went looking for help.
Some charcoal to give him which they seemed to find funny how messy it would be. Then an admin fee of £35 for handling the £552.00 claim. No idea how you justify any of these costs.

My dog received quick help, very nice and professional service from doctors and nurses
