Pretty much a scam. Don’t bother

Following a very successful year of collaboration, we were happy to renew our partnership with VenueScanner. Jess, Kate, Megan, Ciara and their team consistently sends a strong flow of quality enquiries, resulting in several high-value bookings across our venues. Our account manager, George, ensures the bookings team fully understands Lumiere’s spaces and the types of events best suited to each. Communication is always excellent, making them a reliable and valued event partner.

terrible business for the venue

we have had no bookings that we were told we would get when we spoke to them back in July. we paid two hundrend pound monthly for what was to get eight hundren pounds back a month but have bnot had any business at all and we want to cancel now

The subscription was a waste of time and money

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with Venuescanners. We subscribed to this platform expecting at the very least some return on our investment. Instead, we got irrelevant enquiries, then when asked for help, we were given vague advice, and a service that felt more like a cash grab than a value-driven subscription.

The account sales team made big promises, but in practice, it simply doesn’t deliver. We kept waiting for bookings but they that never came. It felt like paying a monthly fee for better business we could get through another supplier.

VenueScanner Guarantee = Empty Promise – 8 Months, Zero Bookings

Paid VenueScanner £286.80/month since May 2024 x 8 months, zero bookings - despite being promised by their rep, Finn, that our Professional Plan came with a guarantee to refund our annual cost if we didn’t get bookings (call recording available). When we requested a full refund, Tilly Mason (Director) refused and denied the agreement, no refund at all.

The “account manager” service is just slow replies and generic, scripted marketing tips you could find on ChatGPT. Poor handling of a small Hackney business like us, no real support, and you’re competing with thousands of other venues for the same enquiries.

Save your money and promote your business yourself online/ - we do not recommend VenueScanner!

We joined VenueScanner in May 2024 on the assurance from their representative, Finn, that with the Professional Plan we would have a guarantee in our contract—if we didn’t receive confirmed bookings covering at least our annual subscription cost, we would get that cost back. This was a key reason we signed up.

Since then, we have paid £286.80 per month for 8 months, received zero bookings, and when we checked to confirm the guarantee, we were told by Tilly Mason (Director) that no refund would be possible and that their “booking guarantee” was not as stated on the onboarding call. After requesting a refund for the 8 months, they have refused to refund or even acknowledge the agreement made during that call (call recording available).

The “account manager” they promote as someone who will guide you in marketing your venue has been equally disappointing. You have to chase them repeatedly just to get a call, and when they eventually respond—often days later—it’s with generic, scripted marketing tips that anyone could find in seconds on ChatGPT.

Poor handling of a small business like ours based in Hackney—especially as a new client—has been extremely disappointing. Save yourself the money, promote your business online yourself, and avoid paying for a platform already flooded with thousands of other venues competing for the same bookings.

We feel completely misled—VenueScanner has not delivered on the guarantee that was the sole reason for joining, and has failed to take ownership or honour what was promised.

We do not recommend VenueScanner to any business looking for genuine bookings.

As your subscription fees are reinvested into marketing efforts to help generate enquiries, we’re unfortunately unable to offer refunds. As outlined in your contract, the booking guarantee is not a refund of the annual subscription but rather an extension of your subscription free of charge until you reach your ROI provided certain criteria are met.

Since you requested to end your annual contract early (which we accommodated), we were unable to apply the booking guarantee in this instance.

1st class from start to finish

the experience was 1st class from start to finish, I cannot recommend this service enough. It is also free for the client to use to be put in touch with some amazing spaces.

Thanks to the lovely Megan Gammage we have secured a spot for our Christmas Party - so well organised and the perfect spot for the firm!!
