In the booking process I made a reservation online for a one-way rental (unknown to me, accidentally making an in-town reservation). At pick up I attempted to correct the mistake with the agent. When... Mehr ansehen

They need to honor their reservations.
Set up a reservation for a trailer to hall a vehicle, the total price was $88.55. The next day I go to pick up trailer and the total was $171.61. Double the price overnight. Ill never go back.
Rented a trailer to move some lumber…
Rented a trailer to move some lumber for my cottage was told that they would have some available a week earlier. Line up help time off work only to be talked to rudely by Lucy from regional office telling me the day before that they can not provide a trailer. Highly unprofessional, and unreliable.
Avoid if possible
Had a reservation for local pickup of a 6X12 trailer. UHaul called me the day before the pickup date to inform me that they didn't have any and I had to drive 1.5hrs to get what I'd reserved. No manager available at this time. Asked about a possible discount since I was wasting my time and fuel to drive 1.5hrs away and was told "sure! you can drop it off in Bismarck for a discount". That's yet again another 1.5hrs from where I'm at. Not very happy but as they are the ONLY place that rents trailers, what choice do I have but to drive a an extra 3hrs (1.5hrs to get the trailer, 1.5hrs to get back home) so I can move my stuff. I cannot remember a time I've not had some sort of issue with Uhaul. Between tires that were low on air, to wiring issues with their trailers, to swapping me out from what I wanted to something else....it's never ending. Please, someone start competing with Uhaul, rent some trailers!!! Wish Penske rented trailers, I'd pay a little extra to avoid Uhual.
Uhaul customer agents don’t keep their promises.
Uhaul customer agents don’t keep their promises. Wasted time and feel like I stressed out for no reason. Agents told me I’d receive a refund one day if I returned my trailer early for the unused day, then the next day they do mental gymnastics and completely change their stance. Very unhappy and I feel betrayed.

I have been a client for years now and through the god and bad, Uhaul was there! Thank you very much.

I couldn’t rent a truck because they need someone else phone.
It is impossible to talk to anyone on…
It is impossible to talk to anyone on customer service. FOREVER HOLD.
When I went to pick up my rental, I was told I had to call customer service for an outstanding issue (which they didnt know what it was). And I was not previously informed about. Otherwise they were not allowed to rent to me. HuH?? After being on forever hold and also trying to chat with a representative, they realized it was their mistake. Took an hour of angry waiting when I had appointments scheduled. No discount later until I asked. Then they charged me insurance when I declined it. I have rarely NOT had an issue with this company. Even the truck passenger mirror was loose and a major hazard when driving. I am going with their competetor from now on. UGHHH!
oh then today I just got something from their collections saying I owe. WHATEVER!!! They should have paid me for all the hassle. Im switching to a competitor.
Save your money with U-Haul
Save your money with U-Haul. Half the price!!!
Head em out!!
I needed to empty my Mothers condo in…
I needed to empty my Mothers condo in another state after her passing. I had used the U-Haul app and reserved a 15" box truck that I was to pick up after flying to my destination. During the week leading up to pick up I had reciever multiple offers from U-Haul to tow back one full trailer that U-Haul had been contracted to transport for a reduced fee behind my rented truck. After rejecting those offers my reserved truck was suddeenly not available less than 24 hours before my reservation. After scrambling and multiple calls back to U-Haul a truck was found 36 miles away.
Nothing was offered for compensation for the cancelation or cost of an Uber ride to pick up the truck other than the option to use a much larger truck that I did not need or would have been comfortable driving.
I rented a trailer from U-Haul
I rented a trailer from U-Haul, and was called the day before saying they didn’t have it at the location I needed it from. I was told I could pick it up at a place that was 75 miles away and I could pick it up a day early. So I picked up the trailer a day early and found I didn’t need the trailer after they had upgraded my truck from a 15 foot to a 26 foot. So I took the trailer back the next day. I had the trailer for one day and was charged $645. I received absolutely no refund from them whatsoever. I didn’t even use the thing I was told I didn’t get any money back because it was originally rented for six days. I paid over 1800 for the truck I rented. Very disappointed with this situation.
Got locked out of a truck
Got locked out of a truck, required roadside assistance [ opening the door] and were charged $200. Roadside assistance ETA was 30 minutes but it took 1+ hours.
The price wase unknown until the bill was received but a $100 cancelation fee was given, verbally, upon requesting the service .
Seems like price gouging
Great customer service and care
I don’t normally review but I wanted to say how great the customer service is with Cullens rentals in Cedar City. Great customer service!! They have a very clean and well organized lot. They made everything so simple. Very easy to do business with and I highly recommend Cullens rentals!!
Just the worst company
Just the worst company. I spend a lot with UHAUL each year and there is ALWAYS some sort of issue or problem. I recently did two of their U Boxes. When I made the reservation, it said 5-9 days delivery. It now has been 13 days and they keep pushing the delivery date back. If it goes past a month, they will charge me another month of storage, UNBELIEVABLE COMPANY. Why do they not have more competition???
Honestly, the worst customer experience I’ve had in a long time
Honestly, the worst customer experience I’ve had in a long time. Reserved 15’ truck 3/13: Reservation: 20567625 Location: 6249 Seminole Blvd. Called and confirmed both with agent, 03/29 at 9:31am. On 4/1, DAY OF RENTAL, Uhaul cancelled my reservation. When I called, they said that location does not rent trucks, and the next closest location only has one 10’ truck! They deflected everything onto "Corporate Call Center" and "The Phone App". While renting in person, I complained they needed to make things right, as my movers were being paid for waiting on me plus they would take twice as long for many trips in small truck. The only response from the sour-faced on-duty manager was “Well, you’re wasting more time talking.” The final insult was the dilapidated truck with driver's visor clip torn out, and it kept blocking my view of the road. The passenger door was smashed and would not close properly, so Door Ajar warning stayed on. The suspension was also shot, and made horrible clunking noises the whole time.
Best customer service EVER!!
We’ve used U-Haul twice now and couldn’t recommend this company enough!! They went above and beyond both times to ensure we were able to access what we needed at an unbeatable price! We had to change the dates and times multiple times for our first reservation and they not only worked with us, but kept our price locked in! They were more than $500 less than their competitors!! The second time, we ended up running behind schedule and they stayed after hours to make sure we could pick up our order. We will never be able to use another moving company again!
NIGHTMARE OF A MOVE WITH U-HAUL
U-Haul as a corporation contacted us prior to our move. We had reserved a 26’ truck for a 1 way move 2 hours away. We were asked by U-Haul if we would assist them with equipment re-distribution of a tow dolly by hauling it with us to our final drop off destination. We agreed to do so with the understanding that both the truck and tow dolly would be picked up in one location, Milledgeville, GA and both dropped off in one location, Statham, GA. In return for our assistance, our rental period was increased from 24 hour rental to 48 hour rental and an additional 100 miles were given for the trip.
The day before our scheduled pick up time, I received a text from U-Haul indicating that our truck and the tow dolly were scheduled to be picked up in 2 separate locations more than 30 minutes away from each other and our drop off of the truck and tow dolly were also scheduled for 2 separate locations 15 minutes away from each other. The text indicated that I could respond to the message if those arrangements did not work. I responded to the message immediately and received no response or follow up from U-Haul.
Frustrated but already overwhelmed with the 2 hour move, we decided to just deal with the 2 separate pick up and drop off locations rather than spend time we didn’t have on the phone fighting to get it corrected.
We picked up the truck and tow dolly at 2 separate locations on Thursday 3/12, loaded our home and drove the 2 hours to drop off the tow dolly on Friday 3/13. When we arrived at the drop off location for the tow dolly, the company came out and unhooked the trailer and gave us a receipt for the drop off. We then continued on to our new home to unload the truck and return it to the second location on Friday 3/13 even though our rental was booked through Saturday 3/14. Upon truck drop off, U-Haul attempted to charge us overage fees for additional miles and I got irate with them reminding them that the agreement was for one location for pick up of both items and one location for drop off of both items in exchange for 48 hours of rental time and an additional 100 miles and NONE of the agreement had been followed, requiring us to pick up and drop off in a grand total of 4 locations in 4 separate towns and that I was not paying additional miles as a result of their incompetence. A phone call to the corporate office eventually waived the fees.
On Sunday 3/15 I began receiving texts from U-Haul that we had not complied with the tow dolly drop off by the scheduled time. I replied to the text that the tow dolly has been dropped off at the designated location a day early on Friday 3/13. I was reassured that the location would be contacted on Monday morning 3/16 to clear up the computer discrepancy.
On Monday 3/16, I began receiving emails regarding unreturned equipment (the tow dolly) and that I needed to contact U-Haul to resolve and return the equipment. I angrily called the site that we had dropped the trailer off at on Friday 3/13 and expressed my frustrations that they had physically removed the tow dolly from the truck for us on Friday 3/13 and we were being harassed that it was not dropped off. The woman was friendly but stated that she didn’t leave their office on Friday and go to their lot to see what equipment was returned. I had to explain to her the unnecessary hassle this causes for customers when they go 3 days without updating their computer system. She checked the equipment in online and issued me a receipt showing no balance due.
I’ve moved cross country more than once and completed several fairly local moved in the past 20 years. I’ve always used U-Haul. NEVER AGAIN. This entire process made an already stressful time a NIGHTMARE by us simply agreeing to HELP YOU!!!
This review is not a reflection of the local pickup site for the tow dolly pick up in Gordon, GA or the truck drop off in Statham, GA. They were kind, friendly and helpful. This review is a reflection of the HORRIBLE customer service at both the corporate level and the tow dolly drop off location in Winder, GA.
Conveniently, U-Haul only sent me a review to complete for the pick up and drop off locations that we DIDN’T have an issue with. I’m assuming they were hoping we didn’t share this disaster.
Terrible Experience
Booked a truck for my moving weekend and less than 24 hours before pickup, they changed the location and time without asking. The new location was about 80 km farther, which was super inconvenient.
They offered a small discount and said they’d add extra km, but after returning the truck, I still got charged for an extra 50 km out of nowhere.
Ended up paying more than expected, plus extra gas and wasted time. Customer service wasn’t helpful and wouldn’t do anything without photos of the odometer (which they never told us to take).
Make sure you take pictures before and after, or you might get charged extra.
I rented a u-box to move my stuff over…
I rented a u-box to move my stuff over to a new town. Receiving it was fine, if not a little tedious to get all the payments in order. the problem is that they dropped a surprise $99 charge on me out of nowhere, and held the box until the day before the monthly charge kicked in, and won't pick it up until after, so that's ANOTHER $99 charge I have to deal with because of their incompetence.
I reserved a uhaul via phone call,went…
I reserved a uhaul via phone call, went to location to pick up the uhaul and it took over an hour and a half to get the key. I was charged 160.00 on my debit card to which was returned then charged 94 dollars. Was charged for a dolly but never recieved it. I was under the impression i was paying 10 dollars for dolly, 29.95 for the vehicle rental for 24hrs, and 1.09 per mile driven.. i drove 16miles. Brought the vehicle back with same amount of gas...early. and was charged 165. Well last i knew,...rounding up..30+10+18 does not equal 165. Uhaul is a huge bullshit ripoff. Dont rent a uhaul.
Uhaul insurance is a scam …
Rented a car dolly to tow my car from California to Arizona. I purchased a insurance policy thru uhaul for any damage to my vehicle caused by uhauls property. We'll the car dolly ripped the front bumper off my car while towing it. My vehicles was in great condition no damage at all prior to towing it. We'll to make a long story short. Uhauls insurance company found every reason they could not to cover the damage. They sell you insurance that they never have the intention to pay out when you need it. Uhaul and its insurance company are a fraud among many other choice words I have for them. There equipment caused thousands of dollars in damage to my previously undamaged car. Do not use uhaul and if you do don't waste your money on their insurance to protect your property. They will never pay. The damage to my car is so bad. We are seniors on social security and can't afford to fix this damag. DONT USE UHAUL. I BELIEVE WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO US IS A CRIMINAL ACT AND THEY SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
