Good as a review site but not sure when it comes to selling accommodation

I like checking reviews from others, and enjoy providing my own reviews to help me and others make choices for good times, and hopefully provide some useful information to share.

Trip Advisor is a great reference point when travelling. Comments are written by fellow travellers rather than a PR reflection

I check out this site prior to booking anywhere and the reviews have been close to the mark

Honestly, I’m disappointed. This is my 2nd account as I delayed my last account after reviewing for several years.
I did 2 reviews in Bali last October for 2 properties I stayed at, not like some people who don’t stay.
One review wasn’t great as I believe in telling the truth , the second review was a glowing review for another property we stayed at and I will stay again.
Well you published neither....... I believe it is because I respond to guest reviews for a Homestay some 3/4 kms away from where we stayed. Just because I reply to guests doesn’t mean own or stay at this property, I know the owner and staff very well and I help them out.

The disadvantage of trip advisor is, you don’t need to stay at a property or eat at a restaurant to do a review, any member of the public can write either an untrue negative or positive review.
You probably won’t publish this either as it tells the truth.

Ok what must be remembered is you view the opinions of people based on their perception and personal preferences- some only post is they have had a bad experience and others post because they have some vested interests in doing so. TripAdvisor gives you the ability to read through the posts and help you make your own plans based on the experience and photos of others.

I've used TripAdvisor for many years, for research into places in the UK, the US, Australia, Ireland and other European countries, Chile, Canada and Antarctica, mostly for accommodation, cruises and day trips and found it both trustworthy and reliable.

It is a not-to-be-without travel tool.

Reasonably good site but is limited to what people are prepared to rate. Also promotes heavily its own products.

I have been using TripAdvisor for about 10 years. We originally used it to look up several hotels in Bali before we took our first trip in 1999/ 2000. I did a Daily blog of our trip on Facebook and saw that Facebook and TripAdvisor where ‘ linked’ to each other.. TripAdvisor reviews could be shared to Facebook... so I did a couple of simple reviews about some places for family members information as they wanted to know. I loved doing this...and found I was very good at it. Now I use TripAdvisor to look up any restaurant, hotel or attractions we are interested in, as I know the reviews are truthful trustworthy genuine reviews with both the good and bad and not ‘paid for biased’ ones. I review just about every place we go to now.

TripAdvisor is a great app and I love having the chance to review some of our wonderful attractions and restaurants. There are just a few functionality issues that I find.

Information/deals/ world coverage/ease of use , first class

Like many people, I have opinions, likes and dislikes. I like to help people from many walks of life, to make informed decisions on what to to, where to go, what to eat...what’s available, what’s good or otherwise. TripAdvisor, for me, is the perfect medium for helping people, and businesses too, for that matter. If the business/event is good, I say so. If not, I’ll say that too...this gives the business a chance to fix the problem. If they don’t know, they can’t fix. On the other hand, if the business/event is good, then they need to know that too!
So...I’ve had only positive things to say about TripAdvisor because there aren’t any bad things.

Trip advisor is a great place to start when thinking of travel destinations around the world. Use it as a guide to decide your itinerary.

Very good tool to use in searching and finding what is ideal. easy to use with sound back up and follow up.

there is so much useful information that helps one decide where to travel what to see and do it smartly and save money - it is excellent that so many people the the time to offer their experiences - very few sites like it

Because I can always get the Info I want when travelling.

I automatically look at reviews on Trip advisor from people’s experiences whether it be a holiday destination or a tour etc when I’m going somewhere. Great help!!!

Excellent app, let’s you know what places are worth visiting, as well as reading other traveler’s information👍👍👍

Trip Adviser is an informative medium from which to glean helpful information wherever you are globaly...
I have found it to be very helpful in avoiding pitfalls that may have otherwise been unfortunately experienced...
