1-Star Review: Deceptive Listings and Unacceptable Conditions
Title: A Cautionary Tale: Deception, Substandard Conditions, and Financial Dishonesty
I am writing this review to issue a stern warning to any prospective guests considering this establishment. My experience lasted less than fifteen minutes, yet it was sufficient to witness a complete lack of professional integrity and basic hospitality standards.
The Discrepancy in Accommodations
Prior to booking, I explicitly requested a room without stairs due to specific accessibility needs. I was assured this would be accommodated. However, upon arrival, it became immediately clear that the marketing materials are grossly deceptive. The photographs provided on the listing appear to be staged or manipulated to suggest ground-floor accessibility that simply does not exist.
Substandard and Unsanitary Environment
Despite only being on the premises for a few minutes, the physical state of the property was alarming:
Severe Dampness: The air was heavy with an overwhelming odor of mildew and stagnant moisture.
Structural Neglect: Visible water damage and mold were creeping up the walls, posing a legitimate health concern.
Faulty Utilities: Basic amenities were non-functional; the air conditioning unit failed to engage, and several light fixtures were burned out, leaving the space dim and unwelcoming.
Unethical Business Practices
When I politely informed the management that I could not stay due to the physical barriers (which they had lied about) and the poor state of the room, they refused to issue a refund. Their refusal to take responsibility for their own misinformation is, quite frankly, a theft of funds. They are completely inconsiderate of guest needs and lack the basic honesty required to run a business.
A Failure of Mediation
Furthermore, I am deeply disappointed in Expedia. Despite the clear breach of the service agreement and the blatant "bait-and-switch" tactics employed by the host, Expedia failed to provide a resolution or facilitate a refund. Their inability to protect consumers from fraudulent listings is a significant lapse in service
