Whilst the orders I placed were despatched and delivered correctly, I contacted them afterwards by e-mail and they completely ignored my message. Disappointing!!!
However, the company has now responded excellently (albeit late), hence my improved rating of them :)

Amazing service. So great to find somewhere that sells the product (Flor de Cana Nicaraguan rum) which my son-in-law was delighted with. But also delivered to place of work which is so convenient. Delivered speedily too! I have used the service twice and will definately use again. Many thanks for wonderful service.

I have no complaints and wish to do further business with them. The only thing was the delivery took longer than promised, however, the delivery address was in Amsterdam, but still. Gladly, it was worth the wait and am looking forward to the next delivery.

Fast delivery great service friendly staff

I ordered a magnum of premium vodka from The Drinks Shop on a Tuesday for delivery the following Friday as a present which was to be given on the Saturday. My confirmation on Tuesday stated that the item was in stock and guaranteed delivery on the Friday. On Thursday evening at 5pm I received a telephone call informing me that the item was in fact out of stock and would not be delivered. An alternative was offered and declined by me. This is the worst kind of internet nonsense - misrepresenting availability and then leaving it to the last minute to say as much. Needless to say I wont be ordering from this vendor again.

The product arrived quite quickly and came carefully packaged

I placed an order for delivery on 28 Jan 15 in late December 14. As it did not turn up I phoned to enquire why this was so. I was informed that orders for 'out of area' deliveries WILL NEVER ARRIVE ON TIME as they take 2 days for delivery and the company only despatches orders 24 hours in advance of the required time! Thank you for ruining my party and not actually caring. Needless to say they didn't warn of this in their acknowledgement e-mail and still charge the required delivery fee. In 2015 you think they would have a proper agreement in place with delivery companies to meet the customer's required deadline.Hugely disappointed.

First and last time I would use this company.
Placed an order on 15/01/15 and chose a specified date for delivery which was 22/01/15, as only day off that week and items were needed for Birthday present on 23rd. Waited in all day but no delivery.
Phoned them this morning and was told that they left a voicemail on 21st stating that one of the items was out of stock? When I placed the initial order, item was in stock, why did it take them 6 days to realise this? And to top it off upon checking my voicemail guess what? No voicemail, so they either misdialled or just didn't bother, either way unacceptable, as I'm now in an awkward situation with regards to the present.
The agent I spoke with was apologetic, but I ended up requesting a full refund and won't be using them again.

Everything arrived quickly and well wrapped for protection

I was desperate to find some honey rum to give as gifts this Christmas, and, as usual, I'd forgotten how hard it was to obtain. TheDrinkShop amazed me, they had it in stock, and they had a great variety, my delivery arrived on time, well packaged and contained the correct items. Thank you, TheDrinkShop, you made my Christmas simple ☺

Ordered 2 bottles of rum 23rd December, used drink shop instead of my preferred provider as they were able to deliver next for a premium. Next day delivery did not happen due to demise of city link. Despite repeated attempts could not get response from drink shop. Traced my parcel to a scottish depot and travelled 70+ miles to collect. Sent another email to drink shop 30/12/14 which resulted in a nice voice mail next day confirming a re delivery of my order in next few days. Sent email response 31/12/14 as no answer to phone(again) at drinkshop. Explained I had collected my order in person at further cost & inconvenience to myself asked to be contacted regarding this & to confirm what I was to do with the re delivery I was going to receive. It is now the 8/01/15 & I have heard nothing, no call not even a reply to my email, but the replacement order has not arrived so I can only assume has been cancelled after my email was received.
I do not hold drinkshop responsible for the demise of city link but their total lack of communication with my self has been appalling. I will simply never use them again.

Updated on 14/01/15 - received a call from Drink Shop customer service on 12/01/15 due to this review so they do pay attention to poor feedback. Channelle(same person who left the nice voicemail originally) was very nice and has an excellent manner when dealing with unhappy customers so credit deserved there. I was informed that the replacement order had been dispatched by their new courier Yodel who had lost it somewhere in the distribution network, Channelle acknowledged this was not a good start for them as the new courier, apologised for the poor service till now and offered to refund my original postage costs and send a complimentary bottle of wine as an apology for the inconvenience. Received a delivery notification from yodel yesterday that a delivery was due same day. Used the yodel tracking service which showed parcel was out for delivery but no other detail regarding time slot etc. by coincidence I was also waiting for a delivery from DPD courier which I was also able to track, and this is the big difference, I could live track my parcel, see where the van was, a predicted delivery time, number of drops driver had before mine. The difference was night and day. So my advice to drink shop would be this, you stock a great selection of products, process and package orders efficiently, have excellent staff like Channelle in customer services so why on earth use couriers with such poor reputations as city link had then replace them with Yodel(the company who had to shut their depot at Xmas because they were in melt down) a quick google search will tell you everything you need regarding Yodel. I would happily pay a few pounds more for delivery if the service was to the high standards of DPD

I live at the other end of the country and it can be expensive buying and sending gifts to family, not to mention stressful, wondering if it will arrive in one piece. TheDrinkShop removes that worry, can get it delivered on a specific day and always provides a fabulous service to get a wee bottle of something to loved ones for a celebratory drink even when you're not there in person to share it. Happy customer :)

Arrived before christmas (on time) and all as ordered. As had ordered a couple of items the box had been crudely modified to fit all in. But worked fine and nothing was damaged so no harm done (only reason for it not being 5 stars!).

There's very little in this world much better than getting home after a hard days work and finding a well packaged and promptly delivered bottle of something nice in my designated safe place. That's what you get with the Drink Shop. They're like a Santa Claus that delivers only quality booze, and does it year round, and they don't care if you've been good or bad, which is good, because some of the things I have purchased from them have a side effect of excessive nudity.

Easy to use website, drink delivered exactly when they said.

I was looking for a specific spirit so my wife and I could have some porn star martinis at home. Tried many retail outlets but eventually turned to the internet and located it very easily on Thedrinkshop.com.

Good price, fast service but I am going to sue them for the pain of my hangover!!

New what I wanted to order and after searching a number of wine merchants the only one in the UK with stock was the Drinkshop! Order was placed with ease and for no additional postage charges was able to get a Christmas Eve delivery slot! Delivered on time, safe and sound! Now just waiting for the right time for it to be opened and enjoyed with my partner!
