The wine that I ordered is excellent and the service I received was excellent

We ordered a special Shiraz deal on a pre order in April and only later did it become apparent the wine would not be available until August. In mid August we enquired as to when we could expect it and were told that it would be delivered week commencing 17 August. At the end of that week the balance of the cost was taken from our credit card. The wine didn’t appear the next week so I enquired again and was told that the wine was “stuck” in the warehouse. On28th August I followed up and was told it would arrive the next day. It eventually arrived on the 2 September after further chasing. Not a good experience

Wine always arrives well packed and in good time and, of course, it's wonderfully drinkable.

Great service and more importantly great wine

I can't praise Averys enough. Their wine advisers are great and mine (Charlie) knows exactly what I like. This wine purchase was of a wine that Charlie recommended, which was also really sensibly priced. It tastes great and is far better than the supermarket offerings at the same price point. Add to that super fast delivery (on a bank holiday!) and you can understand why I highly recommend Averys!

I have been ordering from Avery's for a couple of years - wines have always been excellent, and I am occasionally disappointed if a particular range is no longer available. For the second time, I took advantage of the bundled Sauvignon Bland selection of 14 bottles. They arrived within a couple of days - fantastic service - and I was thrilled to discover I had 15 bottles! The new ones I have tried have all been excellent and I shall definitely continue to follow Avery's and their everchanging wine selection, unlike the supermarkets, which always seem to retain the same brands.

The wine ordering process was fine but once again was let down by the delivery process with the box just dumped in our porch and quick bang on our door. Because my wife and I are now well into our 80s and not able to lift heavy weights we have asked on a number of occasions when we order wine for the delivery firm to help lift the box into our home. Alas, although we called out to the delivery man and he looks in our direction he carried on to the van and sped away. Hence the lower rating!
