So disappointing. I was genuinely surprised by the number of positive reviews, as our experience was very different.

We sought private care because the NHS had dismissed the possibility of my son's allergy as being too rare to test for. As he develops hives even from skin contact with the allergen, we wanted a confirmed diagnosis and specialist guidance.

Dr Costa initially advised us to ask our GP to arrange blood tests through the NHS, but we later discovered this was not possible. We therefore paid privately for the blood test through his clinic, which confirmed the allergy. However, the only follow-up we received was a brief email advising us to avoid the allergen and return to the NHS.
Despite emailing to request further guidance and a copy of the blood test results, I received no response.

The main reason we chose private care was to access specialist support, yet we repeatedly felt directed back to the NHS. While I understand that long-term management may involve the NHS, I expected more guidance, communication, and support following a confirmed diagnosis.

I also found the clinic lacked a child-friendly approach. During the appointment, Dr Costa did not interact with either of our children at all, which surprised me for a paediatric allergy specialist.

Overall, our consultation did not feel thorough, our follow-up emails went unanswered, and we were left feeling very much on our own to manage a newly confirmed allergy. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this service.

Dr Costa was wonderful. My daughter saw him regarding a persistent cough and he was so lovely, easy to speak to, and very understanding. He took the time to listen, reassured her, and gave clear, practical advice that really helped. We felt in very safe hands and would highly recommend him.

We have had an excellent experience with Dr Costa since our first consultation for our son’s allergy. His expertise is clear, and he takes the time to explain the most appropriate, evidence-based treatment options. We are extremely grateful for his ongoing care and would recommend him without hesitation.

From the moment I met Dr Costa, I knew we were in safe hands. Dr Costa gives my son an exceptional level of care. He is extremely warm and personable and immediately put my (neurodiverse) son at ease. Dr Costa's expertise is unparalleled. He reviewed my son's medical history meticulously, and offered immediate guidance to improve my son's existing medicine regime. Dr Costa took a lot of time to discuss every aspect of my son's allergies and health, at a high level, and answer our questions without being rushed. My son genuinely enjoys his appointments! I can't thank Dr Costa enough, he is transforming my son's life which has been severely blighted by grass and tree pollen allergy and previous ineffective attempts by doctors to treat this. Before seeing Dr Costa, my son's school attendance over the spring/summer terms was at 35% due to his real suffering. As a parent, I felt so helpless and terribly sad that my son would live that way forever. Now my son is being treated with sublingual immunotherapy by Dr Costa, he is genuinely looking forward to enjoying summers in the future! Dr Costa is a very professional consultant, he explained every step of my drug allergy testing throughly. He also went the extra mile by looking up information and ingredients into the medication. I was very pleased.
