Wouldn’t really recommend

Wouldn’t really recommend. The process was extremely slow and they take ages to respond via email. It took about a month to sort out and most of that was due to slow responses. I got asked for soo many things and i provided all of them but i still didnt get paid out in full for an item i lost due to me buying it from eBay and the original seller not being able to provide proof of purchase! (which is ridiculous considering the item was bought 4 years ago and that shouldn’t even be an obligation.
That cost me around £1500 which i will now have to replace myself.

Taking Too Long

Had to send the duplicate information and additional information that could have been requested in the first instance such as ID etc...
Plus the replacement equipment sent out was the wrong one, insures fault, had to be returned first before correct equipment was released, still waiting for the correct item to be sent, I have to say this is a joke1! Submitted initial claim 10 days ago!

This company needs struck off.
The behaviour of staff across all four companies they utilise for travel insurance is appalling.
Their systems don’t save.
They can book appointments.
Can’t forward a network.
Give incorrect legal advice pertaining to financial products.

Took it straight to FCA - complete negligence and failure in DOC

Extremely difficult claims process

My claim with Taurus is still ongoing after almost a month of back and fourth after my device was stolen, I took out a travel insurance for a long trip which was very expensive.

However when my phone was stolen, they are requesting proof that I have my box when i have repeatedly said I am not in the country and one does not typically travel with their phone box.

In addition, I have not had my phone for half my holiday which is very inconvenient and I have spent many hours collating information which is almost impossible to get at times when in another country.

I do not recommend for travel insurance.

Unfortunately I am insured through this…

Unfortunately I am insured through this sham of a company through a work related package. If I had a choice, we would go elsewhere.

Having never had to use or claim for gadget faults before, I thought this would be straight forward. I enquired about the issues I faced and was told in no uncertain terms that this would be covered and would I like to arrange a repair through them, or take the item to Apple and be reimbursed later. I chose the latter.

I then submitted the documentation, only then to be told it was not covered and tough, please accept their apologies.

I complained and was offered an apology - great thanks. I continued to complain and was offered a measly £50.00. A far cry from the costs I incurred.

I am aware of claim policies, however it seems this company have staff employed that don't know what they are - in which case how are customers meant to know.

This review is not about obtaining more money, or even having the claim accepted, however advice to be wary of using them. Happy to take monthly fees, however when it comes to basic communication and the claim process they aren't good enough.

New phone received

New phone received! Took gadget insurance out through Tesco travel insurance. Phone stolen on holiday and I submitted my claim on the 13th of May, new device received today 28th May. Excellent communication throughout, thank you Taurus 🤗

I would strongly recommend looking…

I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for travel insurance for gadgets. The fine print in their policy basically makes their cover pointless and geniuses claims appear are rejected!!!

The worst company ever

The worst company ever! please don’t insure your devices with these. They had my macbook and money for 1 month and a half! and then told me they couldn’t fix it. scam and an absolute joke

I like left a trust pilot review for this company a couple of weeks ago which they replied on here they would contact me directly they will have not (disappointed)also as I said before I paid them around 450 pounds in insurance cover plus 125 pounds in excess for a phone which is reconditioned and they would have paid around the 250 mark this is a terrible service they offer you please avoid and put the cash away if you don’t lose/damage phone quids in profit if you do .you would still be in profit

Claim is stuck in stasis

Claim is stuck in stasis for an indefinite period. I am without a primary mobile device and their claims team have refused to progress my claim, despite my repeated requests for an update.

EDIT: Despite Taurus' response to my review, they have made no effort to contact me. Still waiting on a response and have had to report them to the Ombudsman

Extremely disappointing experience with…

Extremely disappointing experience with Taurus Insurance Services regarding a mobile phone insurance claim.

My iPhone was lost/stolen while dining at a restaurant. I reported the matter promptly, provided extensive evidence and uploaded more than 20 supporting documents, including proof of ownership, blacklisting confirmation, iCloud details, proof of usage and purchase documentation.

Despite this, the claims process became increasingly obstructive, with repeated rounds of questioning that appeared designed to avoid paying the claim rather than fairly assess it. Questions progressed far beyond what would reasonably be required for a straightforward claim, including asking who I was dining with and how many times I stepped outside during the evening.

The claim was ultimately rejected on the basis that the phone was allegedly “out of my sight,” despite me never stating this at any stage. In fact, the restaurant was fully glazed and I remained within visual proximity of the table throughout. The decision letter appears to misrepresent the facts provided in order to fit a policy exclusion.

The handling of this claim has felt unfair, disproportionate and inconsistent with FCA principles around Treating Customers Fairly. Rather than assessing the claim objectively, the process has felt focused on finding reasons to decline liability.

I have now escalated the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service and am considering further legal action.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering mobile phone insurance to review the policy wording and claims handling approach carefully before proceeding.

Poor service

Refused to pay out on only 2 gadgets that were stored on a boat in storage beneath our feet as they ‘could have been damaged by staff’. They were flooded with water therefore making it irrelevant who handled the items. Apparently it would have been less risky to have our electrical items not locked away in storage and instead out on the open deck of a boat that was being battered with waves. Staff rude and unhelpful. This was after paying for premium cover so I dread to think how your claims are viewed under the basic coverage.
