RESPONSE TO STOVESAREUS:
Thank you for your response, but your explanation is legally incorrect and misleading.You claim your collection partner charged you for a "wasted journey." This is entirely false. Your drivers did not make a dedicated journey for the old stove; they were already at my property to successfully deliver my new cooker and extractor hood, which I accepted. No independent journey occurred.Under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, retaining a full £60.00 fee—which covers the physical labor, transport, and recycling costs of a disposal service you never performed—constitutes an unlawful and disproportionate penalty charge. You cannot legally charge 100% of a service fee for a service that was completely unfulfilled, especially when no separate mileage or travel costs were incurred for the uplift.Consumer Advice Scotland (Case Ref: 00133559) has already reviewed this and confirmed your business is in statutory breach of both the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024. As you have refused to resolve this amicably, this matter rests with Trading Standards, and the Royal Bank of Scotland Specialist Disputes Team is currently processing the manual Visa Debit chargeback.

I ordered a new cooker and extractor hood from StovesAreUs, paying an additional £60 for an old appliance uplift/disposal service. The delivery drivers arrived and successfully delivered my new items. However, because my old stove was not yet disconnected, they left without taking it.The drivers were already at my property to drop off my new appliances, meaning StovesAreUs did not incur costs for a separate "wasted journey." Yet, they are stubbornly refusing to refund my £60, greedily keeping 100% of the money for a physical disposal and recycling service they completely failed to perform. They even falsely claimed to my bank that I "changed my mind" to avoid paying me back.
I have formally escalated this to Consumer Advice Scotland who have confirmed that StovesAreUs is in explicit breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 for keeping funds for unperformed services. This matter has now been officially referred to Trading Standards for a full investigation, and my bank is manually processing a Visa Debit chargeback.
Absolutely shocking behavior from a company pocketing money for work they didn't do. Avoid this retailer if you expect fair treatment or lawful business practices.

We're sorry to hear that you're disappointed with your experience.
The £60 charge relates to the failed collection attempt rather than the disposal itself. Our collection partner attended your property at the agreed time alongside the delivery of your new appliance, but unfortunately the existing cooker was still connected and therefore could not be legally or safely removed.
As outlined in the email sent to you before delivery, the appliance must be fully disconnected before collection. The email also explains that if the collection cannot be completed for this reason, a failed collection charge will apply, as we are charged by our collection partner for the wasted journey.
We appreciate that this is frustrating, but the charge reflects the cost incurred when our collection partner attends and is unable to complete the uplift due to the appliance not being ready for collection. For this reason, we are unable to offer a refund of the collection fee.

Delayed refund
I ordered a Kettler storage box from StovesAreUs. The price was great and the box looked nice and modern. Ordering was easy and delivery arrived on time. Unfortunately, the type of storage box we ordered had a lid with two separate sections which needed to be fixed together. This section of the box failed as the lid leaked when it rained and the cushions inside got partially wet. The box was not fit for purpose so we contacted StovesAreUs and asked for a refund. StovesAreUs had to contact Kettler about the problem with the box. We had to confirm to Kettler that the box had been put together as per manufacturer’s instructions which it had been. Unfortunately it took just over 7 weeks to resolve this matter and we are now refunded. Throughout all of this StovesAreUs communication via email was excellent. I kept the communication going with StovesAreUs as they were the ones communicating with Kettler as all I wanted was my money back. I don’t know why StovesAreUs couldn’t authorise the refund. I don’t really know why Kettler couldn’t make a quick decision on the refund as that particular storage box was not fit for purpose. I don’t know if I would order from StovesAreUs again as I would not want to experience this type of situation again.

Buying our new wood burner was an easy process. What makes this a 5 star customer experience for me is that things went wrong AND it was handled correctly and expertly. Delay due to stock issues, i was kept informed and called to arrange next day delivery as soon as it was back instock. When i was told it was out of stock we were given options.

Very versatile piece of kit.
Bought this bbq because I liked the idea of having 4 cooking options.
The first time using it was for a big bbq party and it was a huge success.
We smoked pork ribs and used the gas a charcoal sides for everything from chicken to burgers, sausages and kebabs.
It cooked everything to perfection, this is a great piece of kit that we will enjoy for many years to come I’m sure.
