The lodge was great. Had everything you needed. Could do with little tlc on blinds and shower. The hot tub would be better on patio to far away from lodge.
But will return in a different lodge. W ex stayed next to lake last time. That’s where we would stay next time again. Lovely couple that manage the place. Couldn’t do enough fog you. Thank you Toni

Was not put in the log cabin that I had received pictures of as was handed over when we arrived that the log cabin boiler was out of service, the new log cabin we stopped in was nothing like the one we was expecting to stop in. We would have appreciated a phone call prior to let us know instead of putting us in one we didn’t want to be in. We wanted the ‘log cabin’ feeling.
There was no Wi-Fi and signal on the Tv was very poor, this being an issue as on an evening or rainy days we could not watch a movie. It only had normal free view channels. With luxury you would expect to be able to access Netflix’s .
There was nothing luxury about the log cabin. I definitely think you could pick somewhere else and get a lot more for your money.
Hot tubs wasn’t as hot as you would expect them to be so would have to get out and out the lid on which would take a couple of hours to warm back up.

The weekend stay was lovely.
Would like to see a gazebo/covering over the hot tub when it rains so you can still get in and enjoy it.

Reservation was easily made. Lodge was spotless. Lovely location. Staff on site were attentive and welcoming.

Absolutely beautiful place. Really chilled and peaceful. The host made my lodge nice as it wasy birthday weekend. All round great stay can't wait to go back.

Definitely wasn't clean before we arrived

As soon as we arrived the staff was helpful and friendly, it wasn’t easy to find the location but once there was beautiful. Gary who was running the site definitely made our stay, he was welcoming and always happy to help. The lodge itself was lovely with the decked area and hot tub. If you want to get away with no distractions that is your place, it’s got a canal on the edge and a good 20 mins away from a local village. We will most definitely be back.

Unsuitable for disabled people and very remote. 5 miles down a single track lane to reach civilisation and even further to find a shop or restaurant. Probable very nice in summer sitting by the river or going nice walks. The wrong choice for elderly people.

Avoid had horrendous experience, tried numerous times to make a complaint just to be told we would get a call back off of management which we never did. My wife booked through Staycation breaks a hot tub lodge for us & the kids for my 40th birthday, we stayed at the White Horse in Lincolnshire. On the first day we complained to the site manager that our lodge wouldn’t lock to be told he would come by later to check & fix any issues just to find out that instead that evening he got drunk at the on site pub & went to bed leaving us with a cabin that we couldn’t lock overnight. Because of this we went back home on the first night with our possessions. We came back on the second day hoping for the issue to be resolved so that we could enjoy the rest of our stay & instead found that no one had bothered to fix the locks & that the lodge had a mice infestation. On further checking we found a load of mice faeces under the kickboard’s & under the bed of one of the rooms. We confirmed this with the site manager & handed back the keys & checked out immediately as we where informed that there was no other lodges available & everything was fully booked up. The site manger gave us his name & told us we had to log a complaint with the booking agent’s in order to get a refund. I have logged the complaint 4-5 times now, each time to be told I would receive a call back from management to resolve the issue & until today still haven’t received a call back. I recommend people avoid this company as once they have your money they no longer care. My next steps will be to seek legal advice as this whole experience not only ruined our holiday but also my 40th birthday aswell as upsetting the kids & my wife greatly.

Lodge was beautiful,clean and cosy. Beds were super comfy and the hot tub was great. Well maintained,clean and very inviting. Site was clean and tidy but there was nothing else on site-just lodges with hot tubs.10 mins drive from Scarborough or Filey. We would definatley come back

Lodge was beautiful inside and out. Spa tub perfect for two. Area great for walking in to Scarborough via cliff tops really loved our weekend.

It was disgusting and dirty, took us two hours to clean it when we arrived. Every pot, pan and cutlery had to be washed. They were camp beds not proper beds. The socket was hanging off the wall, the hot tub had not been treated at all. The CO2 alarms were not working resulting in my grandsons oxygen machine alarming due to a presence of gas which then had to be turned off and used the portable one. When reported we were told, well I aren’t coming out tonight. Would never recommend to anyone and will be asking for some compensation. Luckily the weather was good so we didn’t have to spend too much time in it. Forgot to add that the fridge was disgusting and the freezer was full of dog hairs.

Black bull is a lively quiet site very relaxing lovely staff on site and a nice cosy feel. Thankyou for our time here we will be back

It was extremely clean and modern and had everything that we needed.
The grounds were immaculate and looked beautiful!
The hot tub was fab and a really good size. Loved that it was sunk into the decked area too.

Stayed at Applegrove Country Park. Fab location for getting around. Lovely spacious 3 bedroom accommodation. Had everything you would need. My husband and I had the en-suite. There was a lovely hot tub outside too.
Two minor things - the windows on the outside needed a clean and there was nowhere to recycle. The bins were for everything.

I would not recommend staying here, the pub next door closed when they felt like it and wasn’t Erving food, the hot tub was not private and people could see us in it as they walked past. we also had problem with guests in the lodge next door playing loud music and shouting at midnight still but there was no security on site, so we went home

Very disappointed in the overall standard of accommodation, considering the prices and facilities (or lack of them!)
