Lovely lodge in elevated and private position. Could do with all the decking to be replaced and painted. Settee needs replacing as very uncomfortable and ripped. Overall nice place, and clean inside.

Heartbroken and very needed break ruined.
I booked this through a rep on Facebook in November. I paid the deposit through an invoice sent to me and was told I'd need to pay the remainder by 17th Jan... I forgot about that date but enquired today as I'd heard nothing and no request for remainder of the booking. The rep checked and the booking has been cancelled!!! I phoned the company, she said she would pass me to her colleague and promptly hung up.
I called through again and they promised a call back before 5pm. I rang again at 4.55pm to find they had turned their phone off for the weekend. I doubt they'll even resolve this, so I'm leaving feedback now. They had their chance this afternoon.
I've been waiting for this break since the beginning of November. I've had a very tough year and it's the only thing that has been keeping me going. I will be claiming a chargeback on my credit card for the deposit as they are at fault. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL ONLY DISAPPOINT YOU.
I will remove this feedback if a satisfactory resolution is had.
AVOID AT ALL COST
We booked a New Year break in Scarborough but they asked us to change to Black Bull in Barmston as the lodge had been sold. We were told the lodge was like for like, it most definitely wasn't.
It was smaller, alot smaller.
It was dirty.
It had mould in the shower.
The radiators were rusty and filthy.
Hot tub jets didn't work properly, only a handful worked.
The decking had lots of holes and was very slippery.
No instructions on how to use digital cooker, washer or dishwasher.
Woke up on New years day to a river in main bedroom and twin bedroom, we had rain during the night so the lodge leaked. I pulled the double bed out to check behind and the sheet came of the bed revealing a very mouldy mattress topper which was covering the most disgusting stained mouldy mattress 🤮
We rang and complained, a guy came but didn't have a clue about the water just told us to mop it up with the towels in the lodge. He said he would bring us fresh towels. It was then we then decided to leave.
It's taken over 20 days to be refunded some money and they only gave us the 1 night we didn't stay. I wish I could upload photos so you could see for yourselves. I'm putting a review on Trip advisor with the photos.
A Relaxing Christmas Retreat
This Christmas, we decided to do something different and stay away for the first time—and it was a lovely experience overall!
The lodges were spacious and well-suited for our family and three dogs. The enclosed decking area was a fantastic feature, giving our dogs a safe space to roam freely while we relaxed. The hot tub was a definite highlight—it stayed hot throughout the week, even with frequent use by two adults and two teens. That said, it was slightly tilted, leading to a bit of water loss over time, but it didn’t impact our enjoyment.
The kitchen was well-equipped and had everything we needed to prepare a full Christmas dinner. While the cooker was a little tricky to figure out at first (it would sometimes turn off when the door was opened), we soon got the hang of it.
The on-site pub had a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with helpful staff and great amenities like a free pool table, darts, and a jukebox. However, the pub’s opening times were a bit inconsistent, which was a little disappointing. We didn’t try the dining area but appreciated the option to order food to the lodge if needed.
One downside was the lack of internet, which was frustrating. The lodges had smart TVs, but we had to hotspot them to stream Netflix and do the same for our teenagers’ devices. When we spoke to staff, they mentioned the server was down, but unfortunately, it stayed down for the entirety of our stay.
The location was a major bonus. A short walk or drive took us to a nearby beach where you can walk for miles—absolutely stunning. Due to a collapsed footpath, the beach was only accessible through another campsite, but this wasn’t too much of an inconvenience. We also enjoyed exploring nearby spots like Bridlington, Filey, North Landing (with its charming caves), and Fraisthorpe, all within a short drive.
Overall, we had a fantastic time. While the internet issues and a couple of minor quirks could be improved, the peaceful setting, dog-friendly facilities, and stunning surroundings made this a memorable Christmas getaway. We’d definitely consider returning!

AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! READ!

We stayed here and was absolutely devastated, the lodges are filthy and I mean like next level disgusting not been cleaned in years type of filth.
We arrived for our dog friendly lodge, not dog friendly fully open for your dogs to escape not as advertised.
Hottub, filthy too much water in it so just overflowed and flooded the already green rotting decking making it very slippery.
Site staff promise you a call back and someone is coming to resolve and you don’t hear back at all. That is if you are lucky enough to get through to them.
We booked for 2 nights paid something like £360 including £80 deposit.
We had to stay for the night in that lodge as we had travelled hours there with two car sick dogs and frankly was too exhausted to travel again.
Come the morning I’ve burst out in a rash over my chest and back could be bed bugs or just general poor hygiene of the linen/ entire building.
We got moved to a new lodge much nicer design evidently more expensive as there gesture to amend the issues faced.
Got to the other lodge curtains stained dirty damp smell, hot tub wasn’t wired correctly to the control panel so didn’t actual work to turn any of the jets on etc. then just showed an error code, hot from the hotub being filled by hot tap so literally just a bath outdoors, once again not a dog friendly cabin.
We left about 8pm on our 2nd day as the boiler didn’t work and we was stressed tired and now literally injured me in a rash and my partner with a cut to the bottom of his foot from a lose hard bit of plastic.
I would never recommend this site. I have seen some good reviews and honestly just question whether or not the employees write the reviews they seem the type.
There resolution was an £80 refund so we basically lived in filth and disrepair and lost money for it. Should be closed down.
Very helpful and considerate.

Stayed at White Horse farm cabins near Metheringham, Lincolnshire. The staff were absolutely fantastic, so so friendly and helpful. The cabin was fantastic, modern, clean and with absolutely everything you need. Will 100% go again.
Disappointing
We booked the luxe lodge which looked like an ultra modern lodge, which got cancelled 2 hours before check in. We were placed into another lodge and told it was bigger and just as modern - we didn’t gain anything from having a bigger lodge as there was only 2 of us. It wasn’t modern it was just say ‘in date’. There were stains on curtains and chairs, the sofa fabric was torn. Both nights the noise was ridiculous with another lodge shouting till after 2am so we barely slept, clearly the staff didn’t try to prevent this to make others’ stays better. No signal and no WiFi. Doors barely shut inside you had to slam them or force them open once they’d shut. The location was fab but my partner planned our engagement around this weekend so it’s a shame we got shoved in a half as nice/modern lodge with no sorry which dampened our last weekend off work for the year.

Thank you for a beautiful stay
Thank you for a beautiful stay. This stunning log cabin is situated in the most beautiful, peaceful and relaxing setting. The cabin is perfect, it has everything you need and then more. We went for a relaxing break and that's exactly what we had..even the dog had a brilliant time and the kids loved the hot tub...well we all did. I would definitely book again and highly recommend it. Thank you xx
Lodge 44 Applegrove
The lodge was on a lovely, conveniently located site. Unfortunately we weren’t informed that next to our lodge would be construction vehicles, machinery and a lodge used by the workers to build/install new lodges. This ruined the view and tranquility which we guess would have otherwise been offered on this site. We feel this should have been mentioned before we booked a lodge with a hot tub. Hence not very private.
The lodge itself is like a caravan style layout. The bedrooms are small, especially the one with 2 singles which has hardly any room to move between the beds and would only be suitable for children really. Our child said the mattress was uncomfortable due to springs. The double bed we found also very uncomfortable. When we arrived the shower control was taped up with silver electrical tape. No note and no mention in our welcome email. We didn’t think this would be safe to use without speaking to someone. It was the third day of our four night stay when a gentleman came around and told us previous guests had pulled the shower and sink unit off the walls. He had glued these back on and the tape was to hold it secure whilst it dried. Although he was lovely and chatted to us about the area and things to do and showed us how to work the hot tub, which was great; we did feel that not being let know what had happened with regards this till the third day of our stay was unacceptable. The lodge looked tired and could do with a deep clean. There were stains and hairs on the pillows (I actually went to buy some from the nearest supermarket) and the microwave had dried on food inside. I gave the kitchen and appliances/utensils a good clean prior to use. It’s a shame as the lodges were just not cleaned to a high enough standard to say we couldn’t check in till 3 so it was ready for us. We made the best of our stay, enjoyed the hot tub on an evening when the builders weren’t there and we were out most days exploring Whitby, Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay which were all in decent proximity to the site. The best thing about the lodges is most definitely the location!

I stayed here in April and although a lovely break, the lodge looked a bit tired and was missing glasses etc
Roll on July and the same lodge, cupboards bursting with all glasses etc you could need, new sofa new table, outdoor table was a welcome sight.
I was missing towels but within 10 mins of me enquiring I’d had 2 deliveries of extra towels. Beautiful location for a nice quiet break. I look forward to returning again
