Music is about community and exists and prospers within communities. It is nice that you provide a service that advances the potential expansion of music-peoples' understanding of one another and our ability to find each other faster. The fees are a bit much, especially considering how little money is ultimately coming to the professionals and artists collaborating here.

Improve your search, why when I need to look for a Dudu player for example I can't just type Duduk in the search, the sounds like is useless and most of the times I go to other websites just for that reason. everything else is amazing, but I have been flagging this up for the past few years since I start using the website before it was sold to spotify and bought again.

Firstly, it isn't particularly easy for people to find you on here. I haven't had a whole lot of work, maybe 2/3 projects in 18 months. There's no option to upload videos of your work, which I find bizarre. Of course you can add audio, but this is limited unless you pay for a premium account, even though they already take a cut of your payments on a standard free account.
When you do get a request, you have to quote the person straight away, outlining what you will deliver, without the option to ask more about the project in further detail. So if you get a request that you would like to know more about before quoting, you can't message the person back without giving them a price. I usually put a guide price in order to message the client, but then it usually turns out they want more than what they originally asked, then you update the price based on this and they aren't happy with it so you kinda end up wasting everyones time.

Another very annoying part is how payments are handled. The only way you can be payed is via PayPal. And only in USD. So if you're in the UK or Europe, or anywhere other than the US, you don't have any options for exchange rates. For example, I took on a project to record vocals, priced at $300, immediately you lose 10% of this. 7% fee to Soundbetter and 3% transaction fee??
So now it's already down to $270. Then it's paid to PayPal, but is immediately exchanged to the currency of your country, which means you get PayPal's terrible exchange rate, and pay another fee to PayPal for the exchange. This lowers how much you earn again.

There should be more payment options, especially when you have international users. Allowing people to be paid via Revolut or something would be much better, then everyone can be paid in USD and choose to exchange to their own currency on a better rate and when is best for them. Not just a one size fits all PayPal transfer.

Great site dedicated to music, high level from buyers to sellers.

Sound Better is great and I've had nothing but positive experiences, but one thing that would make it better is if we could write out our own messages when having to decline a job instead of the artist just receiving a generic decline message from SoundBetter. I feel bad having to decline an offer and would rather make it more personal than having a random message sent.

I am so grateful I discovered Soundbetter. I have had all great experiences and have been able to connect to many producers and musicians all over the world. The platform is user friendly. There are many great projects with quality productions. I like that you are able to set the rate and negotiate project details. I also like how soundbetter is that “agent that is connecting you to a variety of job opportunities. I will continue to use this platform as it has opened many doors for me and built my resume.

In general it's great what you offer.
Things may change a little bit tho:

1) a provider/session musician should be allowed to put a YouTube video for a better presentation, showing off not only its capabilities buy also his style.

2) premium applications are way too restricted. I'm in Soundbetter since 7 years and worked with many different clients, 31 five stars reviews. One can't be a grammy winner or a famous drummer to be premium here but you have to consider the work and the skills. Thanks

Sound better has Been a major level up in both quality and support. Everyone I’ve worked with especially my main man killian has just set the bar to a place where I can’t imagine being able to fulfill my life long dreams without it. Very grateful to this platform

It is a great platform. But as a provider, there should be an option to answer a client before making sending a quota. That really undermines the experience, and makes more complicated the negotation as you need to set a temporary price before asking the client more questions about the project.

Gives me a great platform to be recognized! People come to me for my niche and as long as you are good, professional, and have a stand-out profile, you get people reaching out!

I have had nothing but incredibly good experiences with SoundBetter. I almost cannot come up with words to describe the difference it has made in my life to connect with these unbelievably talented musicians and people who care so deeply about creating intrinsically good and valuable music. It is simply an amazing feeling. I still have more to do, but so far it has been fabulous!

The payment system is very good—fast, efficient, and low on commission. Plus, the clients I've had are spectacular. The rates we can charge are very good compared to other platforms. The only great downside is that we don't have much exposure. I've been on the site for about three years and have only completed one project here. I hope to have more clients here.

This platform is starting to go downhill fast. There are honest people on here, yes, but the scammers are on here as well. They need to allow us, the people paying, to be able to cancel a job when we do not like the outcome and receive our money back. Dishonest people are creating profiles and claiming they can do pretty much anything, and then sending everyone a different price for a job. After they get their 50%, which can sometimes be upwards of $500, they can literally turn in garbage or incomplete work or work that was not what was initially asked of them, and guess what? That's $500 GONE!!

Money does not grow on trees. What is the vetting process like? What is the verification process? The reviews? Oh, those can be manipulated, too. They can ask a friend to join the platform and send them a VERY LOW cost, and once it's paid, they can leave a great review, and the person just has to send their friend the money back. Nothing is authentic here, and the customer service is obviously terrible, too. At this point, people are telling their friends to join and get some free money from innocent, genuine people such as myself. It's obvious now.

Amazing company with great providers, and clients. I've done hundreds of projects through soundbetter and couldn't be happier
