i got solar panels from this company…

i got solar panels from this company and was told i had a 3 year warranty. 24/02/26/roof leaked within the 3 years only to be told the equipment has a 3 year warranty with manufacturer but solarpanel who install this equipment only have a 2 year warranty for their work installation. they have no paper work to prove this. HOWEVER they asked me to send pictures of leak and said they had a manager near by who would call in. manager dropped in and said they would have a team out next week to repair roof. no team arrived no phone call. 2 more appointments were made no team arrived no phone call. i followed with emails and phone calls and got insincere apologies for a lack of follow up and inconsistent communications. there was a 2 more dates agreed to repair roof no team arrived no phone call. it is 13 weeks since i first reported leak in roof 5 missed appointments no phone calls i am a 71 year old pensioner who has to climb into his attic to empty a bucket of rainwater every time it rains and we all know the horrendous weather we had through febuary/march this is how this company treats its customers this is how this company treats pensioners YET its seeking new business all over ireland WOULD YOU RECCOMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE

We acknowledge that there were delays in arranging the follow-up works and that some appointments were not completed as expected. For this, we sincerely apologise. We would, however, like to clarify that we have been in regular contact with you throughout this matter by phone and email, and a member of our team did attend your property to inspect the issue. We also discussed the difference between the manufacturer’s equipment warranty and our installation/service warranty, as well as the costs involved for carrying out roof-related remedial works outside the service warranty period.

As a gesture of goodwill, we offered to reduce the repair cost significantly and charge only the inspection fee, rather than the full repair cost, in recognition of the delays and inconvenience caused.

Our intention has always been to resolve this matter fairly and as quickly as possible. We have now brought this matter to a close for you and have tried our best possible way to assist you.

Refusing to honour warranty,

I have been trying for several months to get the datalogger on my solar inverter working, but without success. I contacted Solarstream several times and they promised to get back to me and resolve the issue but never did.
Then, my system went down during the recent power outages following Storm Eowyn. When power returned the inverter was no longer working. I contacted Solarstream and again was told they would get back to. They waited a week and then told me there was nothing they could do as my warranty was up. I was told I would have to pay €250 for a call out and then the cost of replacement parts. My system was installed on January 24th 2020. It went down during the night of January 23/24th 2025, but they are still claiming it is out of warranty.
This is an unscrupulous and utterly unprofessional outfit.
Speaking to others I know with solar generating systems, the companies who installed their systems contacted them prior to the storm to let them know what to expect and how to get their systems ready for it. Solarstream would not even return a customer's call.
Remember, installing a system is the beginning of relationship. My advice, don't start a relationship with these people.

1. Datalogger Communication:
On the 04th of November 2024, you contacted Solarstream for assistance with your datalogger connection. We were unable to resolve the issue remotely and promptly connected your call directly with the manufacturer. We remained on the line until they identified that a new datalogger was required. We offered you the option to purchase the replacement through Solarstream or source it independently. You chose to source it independently, and we provided the necessary information on how to connect the datalogger. We did not receive any further communication from you in relation to this.
2. Inverter communication:
The next communication we received from you was on the 30th of January 2025, you contacted us regarding an issue with your inverter not switching on. After guiding you through troubleshooting steps, we reached out to the manufacturer for further support. Based on their assessment, onsite testing by an electrician was recommended.
3. Warranty Period and Service Transparency:
Your system was installed on the 24th of January 2020 and covered by a five-year manufacturer warranty and a two-year Solarstream labour warranty. As the issue was reported after both warranties had expired, we transparently explained the costs associated with an electrician visit and potential replacement parts.
4. Communication:
Solarstream provides support tailored to individual customer needs and inquiries. While some companies may have issued general pre-emptive storm advice, we assist customers based on direct inquiries and requests.

We understand that experiencing technical issues can be frustrating. However, Solarstream has consistently acted within the warranty terms and communicated support options transparently.
Should you wish to proceed with the recommended onsite testing, we remain available to assist you.

Avoid this kind of business

Just had a different contractor to access theirs work, as after installs and experience were appalling, my house is 3storey building in Dun Laoghaire with limited access to roof that likely gave them hope of nobody ever finding out. I paid for 19 panel system, but Supplied inverter was never able to accommodate that many panels, so they just fitted them on to roof regardless and never connected 2 of them. I find very hard to believe 2 panels were not connected by mistake or oversight of installers, which were only good experience with this company, as there was connection cable made to loop those 2 missing and referring company accessing, my system was exactly 2 panels over the limit of hardware. I was basically scammed, considering legal options now.

I ordered a system on 31/03/2023

I ordered a system on 31/03/2023. I paid the deposit of €2437.50. I got the paperwork stating the work would be done in 6 to eight weeks that was 16 weeks ago. I would not recommend this company. I am today ordering from Activ8 and I will post my experience with them in the near future.

I would not recommend this company

I would not recommend this company. They installed solar panels in our house. we choose them as they were local and the sales man talked a good talk. He miss quote the grant from seai, they allowed water leak into our bedroom ceiling from the roof and from the outset really seemed to not have a clue what they were doing.
They told us our system would be monitored remotely and any issues could be identified from their side. (this was another one of their lies). We asked for help setting up the monitoring app to which they sent out instructions which were limited and didnt apply to our system.
No one ever explained how to correctly use and make the most of the system but i think this was because they hadnt a clue themselves.
on hot days our hot water tank is way too hot and no one has explained how to manage that instead they told us over the phone to turn down the thermometer on the hot water tank (which our hot water tank does not have)
they then had the neck to send and engineer out to check the system and send me a bill for 170 euro without any warning!
stay clear of this company as you will regret it!
customer service is awful no one wanted to help answer our questions
