Absolutely atrocious customer service!!!

I ordered a necklace at the beginning of April for delivery by the 17th. Despite repeated assurances that this would be delivered by that date, it wasn't.

It finally arrived on the 29th May!!!.
This caused considerable embarrassment as it was to be given at a presentation, which was pointed out to Shipton at the point of ordering.

The reasons given for delay ranged from 'the wrong size was in stock and we need to order some more' - to, 'there is a problem with delivery', despite this, the necklace continued to be advertised online as "in stock' and 'available for despatch'.

Throughout the process no updates were received from Shipton unless I initiated a complaint email.
If nothing else, a regular update on the progress of the order would have been helpful.

In an age when companies like Amazon can deliver the same day, the only thing going for family businesses (if, in fact Shipton still are) is customer service. When this is absent, they may as well hand over the business to whoever can provide it.

The staff could not have been kinder and more helpful if they had tried. Had I been going to purchase a very expensive piece of jewellery I could not have been made to feel more valued. Nothing was too much trouble for the two ladies on the day. I cannot recommend this shop and its staff too highly. Will definitely go there again

We went into Keswick shop as we often do, and there has at times we have not experienced the service we expected but this was I must say was a fair number of years ago to be honest, Monday we went in and purchased a necklace the lady in there was so lovely, approachable, professional, friendly and welcoming, great customer service, we went back today the gentleman in there was again so friendly, polite, helpful making us feel welcome, he made time to have a plesent chat and went out of his way to find exactly what we wanted.
Wonderful service, and the shop itself looked bright, inviting and well stocked.
Highly recommend.

The ring ordered was for an T size, an R size size was delivered. As this was a present for an upcomimg birthday this was not a good beginning as a first order with you.As we need the Ring now we have kept it.

Easy to order online, the goods came within 5-7 working days and I am really pleased with the quality of the earrings I purchased.

I have been going to the Scarborough shop regularly for 40 years and have always found the staff friendly and knowledgeable.

I purchased a silver ring with cubic zirconia stones. I am very pleased with the design but where the ring has been made larger the silver is paper thin and after wearing it a couple of times it’s already going out of shape so not worth the £45 paid.

It is easy to order from the website. I don't understand why they ask for reviews of items, but the website never posts them against the item. It would be helpful if the item review was published. Delivery was fairly quick, but, again, it would be helpful to know when the package was despatched.

Good choice of items with a good range of prices. I love browsing the website. Purchased quite a few things over the years, most recently an owl carving. Delivery times are much improved from a few years ago. I would be happy to see more silver settings for the gems, but on the whole an excellent company for jewellery purchases.

Felt secure in knowing the goods I paid for by phone arrived intact and I did not have to chase Shipton’s for my purchase. Have always been very pleased with the jewellery. Well made and looks much better and nicer in reality. Well done Shipton.

Contacted Shipton yesterday afternoon,searching for am eternity ring...gave Michelle the details of the ring I was looking for and the price range i was willing to pay...I needed it urgently for a forthcoming wedding on Thurs this week...she was superb in customer care and her help was excellent...drove through to Keswick from Carlisle on Sunday morning and was met by a lovely lady ( Michelle) whose approach to me was second to none...found an absolutely stunning eternity ring...we negotiated a price which again was excellent and I was more than willing to pay for...thank-you Michelle...I will most definitely return one day...very highly recommended...check it out...

I made my first order with Shipton & Co about a year ago and was happy to get a free gift and money off voucher with my order. I like the blue boxes that the jewellery arrives in. So I have placed more orders since then, and each time I get a free gift and money off voucher. I have been looking out for their sales - money off selected items and very good value. Recently I phoned Shipton & Co to ask for repair or replacement for a damaged item after a few weeks use. I was expecting to pay but there was no charge at all. Their caring attitude makes me feel like Shipton & Co is a family. They have old fashioned honesty and values.

I have purchased items from this company for a number of years with no problems. However, I bought a bracelet for my daughter for Christmas which was faulty so she returned it and ordered a different one which broke. My daughter spent many weeks trying to get them to refund the money before finally telling me what happened. Since then I have been trying to get the money refunded to me. They have finally told me that the money has been refunded via Link Pay (who I have not heard of) because they claim that this is the medium I used, which is totally incorrect because I only ever use my debit card or PayPal. Plus they are only prepared to pay me £10 less than the original price. I would definitely not buy from them again

We were spending the day in Keswick and wanted to see if we could find an extra special ring for our very precious daughter for a very significant birthday . We were with friends and just called in by chance. The service was amazing and immediate. The ring we needed was her birth stone. Steve and Michelle brought out every ring with an aquamarine stone in. They were beyond professional and attentive. We eventually found a gorgeous ring that needed downsizing. This was Saturday the 1st March and we needed it for Monday 9th as it was really important she received this special gift from her parents as a memory token. We live in Newcastle and the post isn’t good here but they said they would do their very best to get it sized for us to come and collect it. We left the shop and felt reassured they would do their very best best to accommodate us. We wondered all week if we would get her ring and to our delight Steve rang us up to tell us the ring had been sized and delivered to their shop. I can’t emphasise enough what an asset these two people are to be the ambassadors of selling your wonderful jewelry. She was delighted with her birthday present as we were the the overall experience in this shop with these super professionals.
