Fantastic Experience
We recently bought our dream home from Shanly Homes at the Moorfield Mews development, and we couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. We first found the development online, called to enquire, and decided to walk in, and from that very first moment, we were made to feel welcome.
We were warmly greeted by the on-site sales manager, Mr. Jazz Virdee, who showed us around and helped us realise straight away that this was the home we had been looking for. Jazz and the team went above and beyond to support us throughout the process, helping us find a mortgage broker, chasing solicitors to keep things moving efficiently, and ensuring we settled into our new home smoothly.
The house itself is built to an exceptionally high standard, with outstanding finishes, thoughtful design, and excellent facilities and amenities. We would also like to thank Ashley Miller, the Senior Site Manager, whose dedication and attention to detail ensured the homes were built to the highest quality.
Shanly Homes also provided clear instructions, great customer support, and all the guarantees we needed to feel safe and welcome in our new home.
We are truly grateful to Jazz and the entire Shanly Homes team for making what could have been a stressful journey feel smooth, personal, and exciting.

Excellent customer service
I wanted to say what a wonderful experience I had recently while viewing a new development 'Magna Gardens', Purley.
I was greeted at thesite by the sales consultant Lexi who was professional, smart in appearance and knowledgeable about the site.
My situation was a little unusual and required discretion which was respected and handled perfectly by Lexi.
I had just dropped into the site and Lexi showed me round but was not pushy in any way.

Waterside Quarter
The sales team (Kerrie, Michael, Rosie, Sally) were all extremely friendly and contactable from the first visit and even post-completion. The purchase process ran smoothly and completed on time, and I am very happy with my new property.
The property is well insulated (heat and sound), and completed to a high standard with high quality fixtures.
I would recommend having a pre-completion snagging inspection completed. This is just to allow any remedial works to be completed before handover, unlike with my post-completion snagging. The snagging remediation is being managed to a good standard, and very few minor snags were actually identified.

My experience so far moving into Waterside Quarter has been great! It’s a beautiful flat in a wonderful area of town and I’m absolutely over the moon to be able to call it home! Though there were some bumps along the way (not due to Shanly) I’m officially a resident of these gorgeous flats! Shout out the the whole team at Shanly for helping and assisting in making this happen! They’ve all been so kind and have gone the extra mile!

A Year of Stress: Our Tough Experience with Shanly Homes
We have now been in our Shanly Little Green, Aston Clinton home for a year, and it has been nothing short of a constant stream of problems, leading to severe stress for me and my family.
Alarm bells should have been raised by the way we were treated before purchasing the house. The sales team repeatedly issued unreasonable threats to pull out of the process over issues that were completely beyond our control (specifically regarding our buyer’s process). It was as if they didn’t understand how a housing sales chain works.
It quickly became evident that we were being rushed into a house that was neither safe nor fit for purpose, as the past year has proven. Even from my untrained eye, there were clear snags ranging from minor to major issues. When we raised these concerns, there was little communication or action taken. As a result, I commissioned a full professional report and presented it to Shanly.
We were shocked to discover the extent of the defects and poor build quality, with the report identifying 220 issues. Among the most urgent were the boiler not being properly secured to the wall, loft pipes not being sealed or fitted correctly, and most seriously, the complete lack of fireproofing in the garage. This poses a significant safety risk to everyone in our home, as well as visitors and neighbours, especially given that both garages contain vehicles and electrical equipment. To this day, we are astounded that we were sold a house in such a dangerous condition—one that does not reflect the value we paid. Without this report, something very serious could have happened to our health and safety.
Despite the severity of these issues, there was still a lack of urgency and accuracy in addressing them. We ultimately had to escalate the matter to a dispute resolution service to reach a settlement and put these issues behind us.
Even after this process, we continue to find new problems in our home, many of which require two or three visits to resolve due to the incompetence of professionals failing to diagnose issues correctly the first time or performing inadequate checks to ensure their work is complete. To be fair, some contractors are not entirely to blame, as poor senior-level leadership appears to be a contributing factor.
For anyone considering purchasing a Shanly home, we recommend caution. Be sure to arrange a professional inspection before completion, and be mindful of the aftercare service you are likely to receive. We sincerely hope that your experience is better than ours and that Shanly takes steps to improve its processes based on the issues we have faced.
