New double-glazed sashes in old frames
We had new double-glazed sashes put in reproduction sash windows built in 1980 in the kitchen extension. They have fitted in absolutely perfectly, even the colour of the paint was matched. The fitters were meticulous and I honestly can't fault anything about the job. The windows fit in perfectly and your eye accepts them unquestioningly and they certainly don't look like new sashes in old frames, which is something I had worried about. Well done them.

The fitters were very experienced and did the work in the time given. They were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. As we were having 20 windows replaced, I thought it was going to be a huge disruption but in fact they left our home clean and tidy every evening before they left and there was a minimum amount of touching up when they finished the job. They were a pleasure to have in my home.

Poor after fitting care
Window fitting service was great with a good quality window. The issues come with problems and after sales service. I paid for the window to be pre-painted, and in the fitting some inevitable scratches happened. I wrote immediately asking for some paint (ignored), on chasing up I got a response but no resolution. I gave up and shouldn't have done so. A year later and some further small damage to the paintwork - I ended up paying for 5L of paint at £64 supplied by them that didn't match the original colour. Anything I have said to them is that is my issues for having selected the paint colour and that they have excellent reviews. You may get an excellent service my experience was not the case.
In response to the comments below, the reason for requesting paint was not due to damage for fixing blinds but for damage caused by the fitting process. Scratches and scuffs and damage to the corner of the sash. I would have thought from the outset it would have been for the company to rectify this - and this has not been the case. I'm sorry of this feels vexatious, I tried to be polite and in response to my requests for surplus residual paint was not addressed. I have tried to provide constructive feedback but in all cases the response has been - "we do this", but this has not been the case with me They have treated me as though I am a professional and should know what to expect rather than a professional and it feels that because they have positive feedback in general that I'm my experience is therefore false. This organisational set of values is why I have given a one star review. This all takes significant time from a customer perspective and none of this reconciled or acknowledged.

I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service that you received.
I apologise that you did not receive a response to your initial email on 25th January 2021. This was unfortunate. Your e-mail was sent to an employee who no longer worked for the company and, together with the extra issues arising from the Covid pandemic at the time, unfortunately it was missed. We take responsibility for this and can only apologise.
Your email on the 25th January 2021 requested that we confirm the colour and finish, so that you could source the paint to cover up the holes you made from putting up your blinds. We obtained this information from our paint supplier and sent this onto you on the 8th February 2021.
With regards to other criticism, we are very surprised by your comments and do not accept you were badly served. When replacing the window, you chose a bespoke paint colour, which we explained would be colour matched so that we can spray finish with our tested paint system. You accepted this and you described your windows as good quality.
On the 15th June 2023 you emailed asking if it would be possible for us to provide the paint for a fee, as you were struggling to source this elsewhere. After some communication regarding this, you confirmed that you wanted to buy a 5L pot of paint from our supplier on the 27th July 2023. We ordered the paint for you on the same day and passed it on to you at cost price. We then contacted you in August to arrange a date to deliver this paint to you free of charge.
I am sorry to hear today that this paint doesn't match the original colour. We were not aware of this previously. This paint was obtained directly from our supplier, who supplied the original paint for the window. We will be in contact with yourself and our supplier to try and resolve this issue.
Its disappointing that you felt the need to leave a one-star review, our reputation is very important to us and this feels somewhat vexatious, but for what reason we have no idea.

A really professional company!
What a professional and well-run company this is. We had a seamless experience from start to finish and are delighted with our new sash windows. Taranjit came initially to do an assessment. He was very professional and sent the quote the same night as promised. All the administration staff were very efficient and then the install went super smoothly. Shane was polite and extremely hard-working, left the house tidy and fitted the windows beautifully. We are delighted with the result!

Excellent experience - highly professional
I chose this contractor because great reviews and cheaper than quotes got by locals.
It was all scheduled well in advance, communication was very good as expected.
Payment were divide in three instalments; deposit (protected with certificate), two weeks before the job, final payment after the work completed.
Changing three Sash windows is always a pain but these guys made a great job and warranty received on completion with full details represents once again how professional this contractor is.
Well done, fully recommended.

The workmanship was great beginning to…end and well worth doing
The workmanship was great beginning to end ,from initial survey , estimate and fitting. Nothing I asked was too much trouble from matching interior paintwork and dealing with shutters already in place. I live in a conservation area and original Victorian details had to be matched. The price did not change throughout from initial enquiry.
The work was so good I didn’t need to do any further touch up interior or exterior paintwork.
The fitters were experienced and tidy and I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

I recently had the pleasure of working with an honest sales surveyor of The Sash Window Workshop, and I have to say that my experience was exceptional. I was looking to replace my old doors and contacted them for their services. However, to my surprise, the surveyor Martin, recommended that I repair my doors instead of buying new ones, which saved me a lot of money.
His honesty and transparency were impressive, and I appreciated his commitment to helping me save money. He explained the reasons why repairing the doors was a more cost-effective option and also provided me with a detailed breakdown of the costs involved in purchasing new doors and windows.

Superbly made windows
Superbly made windows, carefully fitted by craftsmen. The MD gave us a factory tour and we were very impressed. The finished windows cut down noise, are excellent insulators and look exactly like our remaining original Victorian ones. Not cheap but totally worth it.

Excellent quality and service
We’ve recently moved to an Edwardian property and the replacement of the front door and all of the wooden sash windows was our main priority. As this was a major investment, my wife undertook extensive on-line research for specialist companies that had a reputation for quality, excellent products, installation and customer service and The Sash Window Workshop (TSWW) met all of these criteria. Trustpilot and “Which” were very helpful in this process.
To maintain the integrity of the house, it was important to us that high quality wooden windows and frames were used for the replacement, and with the anti-rot guarantee that comes with “Accoya” wood, this seemed to be the ideal choice.
The sales surveyor from TSWW was very professional and he fully discussed all of our requirements, presenting us with different options for us to consider. The quotation was very detailed and whilst it meant a considerable outlay, we did not want to compromise on the quality of the door and windows, as we are expecting them to last us a lifetime. Similarly, the manufacturing surveyor from TSWW, who came to measure up, was also very knowledgeable and professional - he took the measurements and template to match the new frames to the existing frames, which helped put our mind at ease over choosing TSWW.
The only criticism we had over the whole quotation process was that the glazing company they used for the windows, inexplicably, could not come up with a suitable design for the house number that we wanted to be added to the fanlight above the new front door. However, the sales surveyor was able to refer us to an independent signwriter, who undertook exactly what we were after, so we were happy with that solution.
The actual work took a week to complete and the fitters were an absolute credit to the company in the way that they worked and interacted with us, keeping us fully abreast of the work at all stages of the fit-out. We even commented on how the smart appearance of their vans was the perfect advertisement for TSWW.
The only glitch with the installation was that the new front door had been fitted in the workshop with the incorrect glass panels. However, this was quickly and efficiently rectified by TSWW arranging to come back, take the door away and fit the correct glass, whilst leaving a door “blank” in place. We found this to be excellent customer service.
As for the new door, and windows, we are highly delighted with their appearance, plus the finish, draft-proofing and obvious quality. The fact that the frames and door are all wood has only enhanced the aesthetics of the house further and we couldn’t be more pleased with the finished result. We would certainly endorse the use of TSWW.
