I could not believe the renewal price…

I could not believe the renewal price for my building insurance.Last year I paid £130.19 and this year they wanted £290.52 even though I have never claimed and have been with them for 8 years.
I even went online as a new customer and was quoted a price of £242.64 for the same policy! It is clear that saga does not want me as a customer anymore.

Do not use this company for your car insurance

I chose Saga for my motor insurance as I recognised the brand. The initial price was competitive but the service that I received when I needed to make a change to my policy was not acceptable. The quotation for my new car was far higher than any other company but I was then charged excessive admin and cancellation fees when I decided to move my cover elsewhere. During this time the service I received over the telephone was poor as the people spoke seemed unable to understand my questions. The follow up action that was promised did not take place and online access to my account as withdrawn with no explanation. Do not be tempted by what appears to be a cheap quote - the low price reflects the low quality of this company.

Outstanding service

On a recent cruise I had the need for medical service. The treatment was excellent. I returned home on a Tuesday and put in the claim to the included insurance by phone at about 10 am on Wednesday. After a few questions the very friendly lady said she would process the claim. The full amount due was in my bank by 4 pm the same day. This is outstanding service, another plus for saga and well done insurance. company. Letter of confirmation arrived about three days later.

Do not use Saga Car Insurance

If I could give less I would. It’s rare I leave negative reviews but feel people need to know about Saga Car Insurance. Had an accident last year, where someone drove into rear of my car at traffic lights. All confirmed not my fault. About to go with a new insurer when I find Saga has recorded the same incident twice on the central system, and incorrectly, meaning other insurers won’t honour my 16 years no claims. Been bounced around different Saga departments all claiming to be unable to check the central system to confirm what’s been put on there… 8 phone calls, hours on wait and my new insurance costs doubled. Thanks Saga… well done 👏

Total communications disaster

Total communications disaster at their webspace and telephone network. Attempted to cancel a motor policy as I found 25% cheaper price for same cover at AXA, but SAGA cancellation process requires using the 'chat bot' which is unaccessible from a 'logged-in' page. Attempted to use a 'phone, but their network is so congested that after 2 minutes on messages all you hear is a distorted and broken up noise that could be music in a foreign tongue. Reverted to webspace, without logging on and discovered a 'chat bot'link that worked. Many thanks to Kieron for instantly cancelling motor policy, and refunding more than I anticipated. If not for Kieron this rating would be 1 star.

Shocking Service from SagaBeen with Saga Home Insurance for few…

Been with Saga Home Insurance for few years I've never had to Claim last week had a flood in my Kitchen as older lady with no family the amount of flood was terrible started to go into my Hall. Phoned neighbours who were great. One tried to contact Saga out of hours service. But tried for hours but never got through. I filled in 4 Contact Forms for complaints never got one response. Managed to get through on phone today was transferred then cut off. So never was able to contact them on anyway. Shocking Service will never insure with them again. Never had to claim so what can I possibly do.☹️🤔

Extortionate Admin Fees and Uncompetitive Quotes

Quite happy to offer a reasonable premium as a new customer. But then I need to change my car their view was that I was now a captive customer and they felt at liberty to try to rip me off, Their price £650 for new car other insurers £285, Decided to cancel and they have the temerity to charge me £50 cancelation fee, all of these mid term admin charges and then a cancellation fee must be another case of secret commissions. It used to be insurance brokers earnt a commission for placing your insurance now they earn hundreds in admin fees and cancellation fees I mean come on what did you do for £50 enter a date on a screen. You are parasites

Checking out home/ contents insurance - helpful website and call team

Checking out vendors for new home and contents insurance as my old supplier is moving out of this market. I have very specific insurance needs and was delighted to find a comprehensive guide available online so I could compare potential policies.
From this I still had questions, so called - not the quickest to answer but put me straight through to the right dept where they were able to assist me straight away.
Yes home/ contents insurance is time consuming but the online resources mean I can cross check in my own time and the call team were knowledgable and helpful. Great experience

They TOTALED my Classic Car that was barely damaged.

They totaled my car, lowballed me and the same person who appraised my classic model car with a rear fender bash, is the same person who gets the car as 'scrap'. It was driven to the mechanics. perfecly fine. It took 6 months with an ombudsman mediator to get a decent price. STAY AWAY.

Really good customer service

I can see I am really unusual so it is good to be able to share a story of excellent customer service! I had to cancel my Saga car insurance as I wanted to add my 23 yo son (not possible with Saga due to age limit). They originally only gave me an email with a 2 year no claims guarantee to pass on to the new insurer but I had 13 years on the policy. A phone call to the team (no wait! nice people!) and a couple of queries and phone backs and it was all sorted. Thank you Michelle. A huge weight off my mind and problem sorted.

Cannot believe how appalling Saga car…

Cannot believe how appalling Saga car insurance is to be with. Call centre staff with broken English. Countless mistakes and misinformation. CEO doesnt get his gatekeepers to reply unless threatened with mp. They blame underwriters for everything. It is the exact opposite of everything they advertise. Am sure the ombudsman will be in their pocket too. A david and goliath situation. Stay aware and dont give in.

Terrible service

Terrible service. I phoned with a home emergency on New Year’s Eve and nobody came until 5th January! They did not solve the problem but messaged to say that it was resolved.
They don’t accept responsibility just pass you on. I got sent links that wouldn’t open. I am 78 and alone. I feel very unsupported.
Went to Saga as I thought they would be good for the older person.
I do not recommend and will not be renewing but unfortunately I have only just renewed and it was expensive but I thought it would be worth it because of their name.
Very disappointed.

travel insurance quote as…

Went to get a travel insurance quote as I have my home insurance through them Went through everything quote £91 then got an email to say it was £114 Thank god I hadn’t accepted it as other companies were cheaper despite me thinking that loyalty might come into it - yes I know stupid me
Saga were that sure I would accept so I emailed them saying exactly whats on here Adding near on £25 a quarter of the quoted price reeks of scam Im not touching them and may consider looking for other household insurance

I received a saga home insurance…

I received a saga home insurance renewal while in hospital. On returning home one day after the renewal became effective I called Saga to notify them that I did not wish to renew. I was assured that the sam taken from my bank account would be returned but when it arrived a week later it was over £30 short. After four phone calls and my reference to the 14-day cooling off period I was eventually told today on my fourth discussion that they were keeping over £30 for admin reasons. BEWARE opting for automatic renewal each year. I paid over 20% of my annual premium for 48 hours cover - So much for the ‘cooling off’ cover SAGA professes to follow. BUYER BEWARE!

My house and contents insurance

My house and contents insurance, which was fixed for three years, came up for renewal, four days before I went on a six week holiday. The quote had more than doubled, so I found an alternative supplier. Saga automatically renewed, though the three year fixed had expired. Their documentation did not arrive until I had gone on holiday, denying me the opportunity to cancel. When I contacted them they agreed to cancel the insurance but charged me over £100 for insurance which I did not need. Ticking a box for a three year fixed should not give them the right to automatically set up insurance in year four. Most unimpressed by them as a company.

We rang to discuss it and they could not find our details on their systems. They said they would ring back but never did

Telephone customer service non-existent

Tried to access my online car insurance quote via email link - Impossible! Next best thing tried to call SAGA direct. Hung on for 20 mins to speak with operator and got cut off before a word was spoken. Straight away the customer survey kicked in... How well have we done (hahaha). Scored Zero! So scoring 1 in this review is an achievement. Went with AA Platinum car insurance policy. Cheaper, more efficient customer service and straight through on the call.

FArcical. !!!

I was incensed by Saga..I first thought I had quite a good price on my premium until I try to change my car they said it was only going to be £56 as the car was a lower engine capacity etc..so my existing policy i thought was just switch onto my new car with the little bit of surcharge fair enough,and i had saga plus or whatever it is called..
when I called to activate this plan onto my new vehicle I was told £500 plus I had to pay I would get £140 back from my existing policy. I said that doesn’t equate to £56 and the lady said she’d tried to go on the system and it won’t let her do it so this saga continues Saga!!!!!!!!!Almost implying that was my only option.!!!What a sh**show!!!
. she then said I could cancel my policy get my 140 refund and get my own insurance so that’s cost me about £350 for five months cover!!! not GOOD VALUE IS it,you don’t say.. then they give you this nonsense survey well it’s a doom doom doom saga i’m outraged and not to mention the hassle.. have these bigger companies forgotten service? It’s more like disservice
