Overall excellent - good itinerary, informative, friendly guide, lots of interesting sights. But am going to email separately re 1st night at Cabin Hotel where the room was very poor and I hardly slept.

Ashgabat is a real eye opener fascinating city to visit don't expect to be partying by night though. Turkmenbashi was a disappointment nothing to see there. It's really the gateway to getting to the canyons which are stunning it's a challenging drive but well worth the effort the mountains were a good relief from the desert heat Mary isn't quite ashgabat but it's all about merv which we were somewhat disappointed with. The itinerary we choose was fast paced but allowed us to see the country from a different perspective the food and accommodation was excellent during the tour which was well organised along with great vehicles and a great guide beatie who was so enthusiastic and engaging and so knowledgeable had a great time with him would not hesitate to recommend regent holiday tours. A special thanks to carl for your efforts putting the trip together for us.

In just six full days we managed to see a lot of Turkmenistan. Guli our guide was brilliant and steered us around Ashgabat and Merv. The programme was expertly arranged by Carl with emphasis on the things we love - an unmissable visit to a farm/Akhal-Teke stud, horse racing, a home-stay in Nokhur. Food fabulous throughout, hotels trying hard, if a little eccentric. I would get here fast before the tour groups pile in and change the character of this unique country.

We have used regent Travel twice now and they have been brilliant both times. We would definitely use them again.

We were recommended to visit Albania because of our interest in the varied cultural history of the area. Ellie from Regent Holidays produced a great itinerary for us at quite short notice. Our trip began and ended with beach/pool relaxation time with a fairly hectic schedule taking in tours of Gjirokaster, Apollonia, Tirana and Berat over 3 days. The local tour guides were very open, friendly and knowledgeable and spoke quite good English. As we had our own tour guides/drivers, they were able to tailor the amount of walking commensurate with our mobility issues whilst making sure we didn't miss out on any of the sights. The hotels in Ksamil, Tirana and Berat were very comfortable although only the hotel in Tirana served evening meals at the time of our visit. The Porta Hotel private beach restaurant in Ksamil served delicious food, albeit expensive. It closed for the season on 30th September although the 'beach' remained open. There wasn't a beach as such: access to the sea was via a couple of sets of steps from the decking. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and I didn't have to do any driving! It was an absolutely seamless experience. We had a chat about where we wanted to go, Fergus put together a draft itinery, which we tweaked, and then he went ahead and arranged everything. All the hotels were good, and all central, the car was booked. All we had to do was turn up. What more do you need?!

This is a small group tour well worth considering. It covers a lot of ground but the experience is excellent, particularly the overnight train from Tashkent to Urgench . The sites you visit are impressive and our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the country. The hotels used are well located, particularly in Khiva and Bukhara. However the only reason it's not a 5* review is the alternative hotel provided in Samarkand was not a suitable alternative to the one included in the brochure. I know circumstances mean changes can occur, but the alternative has to be comparable.

tours are extremely well organised and everything is taken care of in advance of your tour. Guides are knowledgeable, friendly and speak excellent English. The small tours (ours was only 14 people) are especially good because it is really easy to bond with everyone and get to know people. You don't spend time on the periphery and trying to understand what is being said.

We went on the 14 day small group tour to Uzbekistan. The organisation was impeccable and our tour guide in particular was fantastic; fluent in English (as well as Uzbek, Russian and number of other languages), knowledgeable, informative, unflappable and funny. The hotels were of high standard (though the last one in Samarkand was a last minute substitution and was a bit corporate and bland). Food was varied, authentic, and much, much better than we had been led to expect. Generous quantities meant we rarely needed to eat again in the evening. The itinerary ensured we had free time to explore each of our destinations, shop or relax. we appreciated taking the night train from Tashkent to Urgench, rather than flying as many other tours do.

The itinerary fitted the areas of Georgia I had requested. We saw lots of interesting things. The accommodation was excellent and of the standard we had discussed. We had asked for lots of Georgian food and we certainly got that. Our guide was very good at suggesting dishes to try. I particularly enjoyed visiting the country restaurants in peoples houses.

We made some minor alterations to the itinerary on the day (changing departure times slightly and occasionally not visiting some of the sights. The guide coped well with that.

There were a couple of times when we felt the timings were a bit too tight. Too many things to travel to and visit within the timescale in the itinerary. We coped by either finishing late or curtailing something but it was not a big deal.

We would have liked a tea/coffee break in the mornings when we were travelling. 3 hours without a tea break was hard going. We did mention it to our guide and she accommodated us, but that then added 20 or 30 minutes to our travel time. Our guide was very good at advising on where we could find toilets and which were better than others. She worked hard to please us. (She seemed worried that we might miss out on anything. We had a great time and did not feel we had missed anything at all). Our driver was excellent too. And careful.

My wife and I are no longer very fit but our travel companions were super fit and wanted to walk and climb everything in sight. So on a couple of the trickier visits eg the cave villages which involve a fair bit of climbing and uneven surfaces, we split up with 2 or 3 doing the full visit and 1 or 2 staying in the cafe. That worked well.

I would definitely recommend Regent & Georgia to others.

A wonderful trip to start with! Add in excellent communication and support from staff (Rob), excellent organisation on vacation and brilliant support with travel disruption.

We enjoyed our experience in a beautiful and special place.The excursions were excellent and everything went as planned in the itinerary. The only negative part of the experience was the totally daft stop in Tromso on the way back when we were given contradictory info regarding the necessity to reclaim our bags before going back through security to check into our same seats. Luckily we were rescued in baggage reclaim by the pilot of our plane who agreed that it was bureaucratic nonsense and had delayed many a flight in the past.
