Bullying and rude.

I insured through RCIB last year, I spoke to an agent on the phone who informed me that there was no further action I needed to.

I then start receiving threatening emails from RCIB after having paid them to say that if I did not upload certain documents, they would cancel my policy- I queried this with them as I have never had to upload any documents previously in all my years driving. They insisted that it was something I had to do, so I uploaded and sent via email the documents requested.

When my renewal came around this year, RCIB offered the best price when I compared so I renewed my policy. Again I am receiving threatening emails stating my policy will be cancelled if I do not send the documents I have already sent.

I have tried to call 3 times, and been on hold for 45 minutes each time without being able to get through, I have sent 4 emails, stating I have already sent the documents, and resending them again as they have not changed. I have also requested on 3 of the emails the details for the complaints department. Despite what it says on the website regarding emails being handled within 3 days, I have heard nothing back.

This company uses bullying tactics with its loyal customers, and it needs to stop.

I am receiving all this grief after receiving an email every other day (and texts) from the company asking me to renew my insurance through them. It is too late for me as I have already paid the company, but I would urge anyone considering this company to avoid like the plague.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE I was quoted a price however then debited an extra £300 if you have offroad parking the majority of the time they won't believe you as they've looked at Google Earth & say no you have not because Google Earth is not that accurate & doesn't take into account for missing No13's & where addresses don't start at No1 or for example 1A, 1B, 2A & 2B.& they've still not repaid me after countless calls.

They will threaten with cancellation on everything

I bought insurance for my new car, ok pay deposit excellent, monthly payments great. Then get told I put wrong info for length of licence, erm gocompare have them in blocks, all didn’t declare personal and business miles, no option too.. insurance goes up, ok. Request ncb letter or they cancel policy, sent, what letter from dvla as ncb was from old car. But Ricky thinks it doesn’t matter we are in a pandemic and staff are reduced the dvla must send me proof within next 7 days or cancel. Paid close to half the cost of my policy and anything they don’t get you get told we will cancel. So I raise a complaint you have 7 days or I’ll raise a formal complaint but Ricky doesn’t think you can complain as insurance is all seeing! Well formal complaint with the manager, then ombudsman if I must. I have never cried so much over bad service, but he made feel worthless and stupid! Personally Ricky needs to be dismissed from your company and I want a formal letter of apology

Terrible for car insurance

Got car insurance through RCIB.
Impossible to speak to anyone on the phone and no response to emails.
Also increased my insurance by £30 a month for moving less than a mile down the road, to a nicer area.

Worst car insurance company ever AVOID

Worst car insurance company ever. They upped my insurance twice on the same policy quoting wrong information about my mileage. Then said 3 points that had come off I still had to submit for insurance purpose for 5 years. Policy cancelled and they took £220 without telling me and my consent to to take. Absolutely fuming avoid at all costs there customer service is very rude and don’t care.

DO NOT USE!!!

DO NOT USE!!!! CANCELLED POLICY AFTER 2 DAYS BECAUSE THEY RANG WANTING AN EXTRA 180QUID N THEN BASICALLY STOLE 100QUID FROM ME FOR CANCELLING N TOLD ME ITL TAKE 30 DAYS TO GET MY CASH BACK MINUS THE 100QUID. IF I HAD READ THESE REVIEWS BEFORE HAND I WOULD OF NEVER GONE WITH THEM. STAY AWAY NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!!

Chavtastic thieves

This company and its chavtastic staff are absolutely useless. They charge you one price then tell you to pay more, then threaten to cancel your insurance if you dont pay the extortionate amount. The attitude they have on the phone is disgusting. They are thieving blood sucking rats and I will raise a complaint with the Ombudsman and each time a complaint is opened with the ombudsman, the company are charged £550!

RCIB want V5 and Licenes email before insuring you.
Took a Policy through go compare they are also on other compare sites.

Get email after placing order asking for a copy of v5 and both drivers licences GDPR alarm bells ringing at this point.

Called them as soon as i read this no more than 5 mins had to wait 20 mins to talk to first guy who was rude and didn't listen put me through to another department another 20 min wait to speak to a woman who didn't listen said i needed another department and transferred me while i was still talking to her and another 20 mins later i get another rude team member who want 60 quid to cancel the policy as im not comfortable sending these personal detail to a company wide email address even though the policy wont start for 15 days and only taken out an hour ago.

As this has never been needed before i called the DVLA and motor insurance bureau both of the same opinion that this is not required and must be an internal policy which they both see no genuine reason for them to have access to this but have no legal precidence for me to with hold it.

If i was aware of the need for this before hand i would not have taken the policy with them and gone with another company on the pure bassis i dont want the entire company having access to these documents and feel it a massive GDPR issue waiting to happen.

I have also raised the issue with go compare and they to belive this to be the only insurer to request these documents and had to speak to a client liason officer internaly to see if this was a valid legit request and it seems they ask this of the RCIB customers.

I have made the information commisioner's office of this practise and my concerns about it and am waitng on a response.

Horrendous customer care

Horrendous customer care, each dept doesn’t have a clue what the other one is doing & sends out threatening txts & emails for no reason & continues to send them out when the problem got sorted days ago.
It’s that bad I had to make a complaint to the insurance ombudsman who are now investigating. So, insure your vehicle or anything with them at your peril. You have been warned. Can’t wait till next year to change company’s & get away from these clowns.
By the way, when you complain the so called Manager puts the call on mute as they obviously don’t like complaints.
How dare anyone complain.
