Parks Motors Irvine
Had my car fully serviced at Parks in Irvine. The staff were lovely and helpful. They completed the service within a few hours and I couldn't be happier with the overall experience.
Not a great experience
I work as a driving instructor and this is my experience of Parks Hyundai Carlisle.
For the last three and a half years I've had an i30 and I've just swapped it for a Tucson. I have no issues with Hyundai as a brand or the cars. They are nice to drive and have good features. However, twice I've had the i30 come back from the garage with damage and nothing said to me about it.
First damage was when the car went in for a service. Someone managed to put a six inch rip in the rubber seal that goes around the boot. Nothing was said to me when I got the car back. The boot seal was replaced when the car went back in to get a new steering wheel (warranty issue because the wheel went manky).
Second damage was when they replaced the steering wheel. It was a three hour job to replace and they broke a bit of plastic off the wheel and again didn't say anything. As I drove the car away the broken plastic bit fell onto my lap. To get this fixed they had to order a part and it was another three hours to fix it.
Now for my experience of getting a new car from them. I was due to pick up my new car (the Tucsson) on a Thursday afternoon. I got a call from Parks about 11am to inform me the new car had a fault and I wouldn't be able to pick it up.
When will it be fixed? Response "Not sure, hopefully tomorrow".
Whats wrong with it? Response "We don't know it’s a generic fault and we'll have to invistgate"
This didn't do me any good as the new car was booked in to get dual controls fitted the next day in Leeds. This had to be cancelled and moved to the following week.
So, I picked up the new car late on Friday afternoon, after they had fixed the fault. Apparently it was a wiring fault and they had to fix a connection.
The car was fine all week until this morning. First student of the day starts the engine and the dash lights up like a Christmas tree. Sometimes saying five faults, sometimes saying three faults. So they obviously didn't fix anything and just cleared the faults from the car hoping it would just go away. The car was just about driveable, but not by a learner so I ended the lesson and drove straight to the garage.
When are they going to fix it? The technician is on holiday so the earliest they can look at it is Monday next week(it's Friday as I'm writing this). I've been given a courtesy car in the meantime. What did they give me? The salesman’s personal car. Why? Because they only have one car to lend out and they didn't want to give it to me! Very professional.
What else can I say about them? The Hyundai bit of Parks never answer the phone, it rings for ages and then gets picked up by a random person in one of the other Parks garages. When they try and transfer you to someone, they get no answer and say they will get someone to call you back. This never happens and you just have to keep ringing them.
I won't be using Parks again after this.

Beware, don't trust them!
My Husband has to reduce his working hours due to ill health, so we needed to trade in our current car for something less expensive a month. We approached Park's Peugeot in Bathgate to help at the end of September last year, we ordered a Peugeot 208 as we were told it was in the country and we would have the car within a couple of weeks. We hadn't heard anything so on 21/11/22, I emailed for news. After numerous emails over the months until End of January this year we were finally told the car had arrived and we could collect it within the next week. However, my Husband received a phone call from the Manager, he told us that because our current car had depreciated by £10,000! Fro September to January, They could not continue with the sale. I have complained to head office, but guess what, there's nothing I can do about it. Not happy. Very disappointed!
So called 'experts'!
Ford Kuga broke down in the snow (mid December 2022), car picked up by local garage (acting for AA) but had to be taken to ‘Ford experts’ with specialist diagnostics in Inverness (over 100 mikes away). Car taken there. Had to wait until engineer with specialist skills to diagnose faults (At £120 an hour plus VAT) was on shift. Three hours of diagnostics, he said it need a new key fob which had to ordered and cut, and the computer reset. Car eventually ready mid-January. Was advised that the car would be ready after a final check. I stressed that I would be travelling 100 miles to collect the car and I had travel to Glasgow (from Inverness). I arrived to collect the car, paid the £658, feeling confident the car would be OK and would get me to Glasgow. The customer service staff in the service unit didn’t fill me with confidence however more intent in taking the money for me and leaving me to find the car outside in hundreds of car. So many staff sitting behind computers looking bored doing nothing. I found the car and drove onto the M9 and within a few miles warning lights come on and the car slows. I drove it back. I demand to see the manager. He said they had fixed the presenting problem, that the car wouldn’t start. I explain the car and broken down. He said he didn’t know this, that the service engineer that picked the car up didn’t explain the car had broken down (they didn’t call me, the owner of the car, to discuss the problem). I asked why they didn’t road test the car, they said they didn’t need to do this because they had repaired the presenting problem (the car wouldn’t start), they had done what was expected (and charged £658!). He ‘didn’t know where to go with the car’, meaning they couldn’t do anything more. I explained I was scared of taken the car on the road, that it may have to be towed back in. He wasn’t interested. I had to take the car out. I got on the road not knowing if I would get to Glasgow or not. Long story short, although get down a good bit of the road the car didn’t the same, engine warning light on with other warnings. Managed to crawl into Glasgow, then day later trying to get the car to a garage closer to where I live it breaks down! (NB Parks Inverness, broken down, not just not starting). Parks, because of their poor, in fact no service, given all they did was to replace the key fob (at the cost of £658), have left me back where I was a month ago, my car at the side of the busy A82 in the rain, getting it towed in with all the stress, and risk! Thank you Parks, Inverness, total incompetence from beginning to end!
Very Poor Customer Service
Unbelievable. I called Parks Ford in Stirling to get a price to have the gearbox oil changed on my automatic Mondeo. Service was busy and took my number saying they would get someone to sort out the price and call me back but it may be tomorrow. No problem I said. Next day, no phone call so I called them again. Different girl says "I'll put you through to parts so they can give you the parts prices, then they'll put yopu back to me so I can work out the labour costs". Strange way to work I thought but heigh ho. Parts guy answers, I explain to him what service just told me "I don't know why they put you through to me, give me your number and I'll call you back". I hung up in frustration. Don't you want any business?????
Excellent Service
Excellent Service! Cullan kept me informed every step of the way from initial contact, to the sale of my car and went above and beyond my expectations. As a woman buying a car, you are always worried about being taken advantage of by sales people, but I never once felt this way and had complete confidence in Cullan. I would definitely recommend.

Really shocking customer service
Really shocking customer service. I have an outstanding Volvo V60 seat belt recall, therefore safety issue and have been waiting for over 14 months for it to get sorted. Now my airbag light has come on and Parks Ayr won't even pick it up! Shocking after the hundreds I have spent with this garage. Would not recommend. They cannot still blame COVID.

Arranged to test drive an e208 Peugeot at Parks Bathgate by phone on the Tuesday. I turned up on the Friday with my driving licence as agreed, only to be told the car wasn't there and to come back on Tuesday. I travelled almost 30mins each way to get there. Utterly disgusted!
