EE recycle Website said £220 for my iPhone 6 128gb in perfect condition. Sent it off and it cost me £7.25. Got an email from them saying the screen was damaged or cracked and so was only worth £110. The photp showed no damage. I rang them and they said it was probably damaged in postage and I could claim as I sent it special delivery. So asked them to send it back. So 3 days later I got my perfectly working phone back in perfect condition. No screen damage. Have now sold it to a shop no problems. So it's clear to me that EE recycle we're trying to rip me off by telling lies. I'm not happy being £7.25 down. Stay well clear.

EE gave me an online quote of £90 and I got an email stating it will end up being £23.

I called backed and asked for my phone to be returned. After a month (due to work and going on holiday, it totally slipped my mind) the handset still wasn't delivered. I called up again and spoke to a man named ANDY. He is the most unhelpful, rude and disrespectful person I have ever had a conversation with. He often told me what I was saying did not make sense, my claims were unbeliveable and even went as far to say he listened to a previous recording of me and stated I didn't ask for my handset back! Not only that in order for my to listen to the recording I would have to pay £10!!!!!

Later on this conversation he went on to state that either way I can't get my handset back because it's already been recylced by EE without my permission. SAVE YOURSELF, DO NOT GO THROUGH EE THEY ARE THIEVES

I've just used this service for my iPhone 6, as they offered top price, read reviews after I had packaged my phone up and sent off, however After a few days I was paid price quoted my only tiny gripe was the lack of communication or somewhere to log in and check progress of my order, but I was paid what I was quoted and would defiantly use service again.

I was offered £90 for my iPhone 5s that was 18 months old and in perfect condition and working order
I sent it off to them and received an email back to say there were white spots on the screen. The photo they sent me to prove this shower no spots but it did show a darker area in the screen as if someone was holding something above the screen to cast a shadow

I asked for them to send the phone back - id rather keep it as a spare than let them rip me off!

The phone is fine - is in complete working order and nothing wrong with the screen

Just feel like they were trying to rip me off.
Perhaps with someone less vigilant, they may have got away with it

If you are going to use them, please take pics of your phone before you send it so you have ammunition to challenge them if needed but in my opinion you should really steer well clear of them

I agree that there appears to be a recurring theme here and I now wish I had also read the reviews before sending my phone away to EE Recycle.

I was quoted £90 for my iPhone 5S 16GB and received the return pack within days. I removed my phone from its case to reveal a phone in perfect condition. I then sent it away in the pre-paid envelope inside the original iPhone box, expecting there to be no issues as I had used EE recycle when I recycled my previous iPhone. I sent it special next day delivery at a cost of £7.25.

Within 12 hours, I received an email from EE to explain that although quoted £90, my inspected value was £45 as the "Touchscreen is cracked or physically damaged and will have to be replaced". The accompanying photo was blurred and did not prove to me that it was my phone. It showed no apparent cracks or damage.

Outraged I called the number in the email to be told that it's a common problem with the iPhone 5s when they are on full charge and it makes the battery swell and push out the screen from the case, but if I did not want to to proceed they would return it by courier free of charge.

I was advised this delivery would be within 3 working days and that I would receive a text message on the day so that I could arrange an alternative delivery address if needed as they could only initiate the delivery to the registered address.

Needless to say 2 business days later I received no text message but the courier tried to deliver at home whilst I was out at work. There was no option to change the delivery address so I have had to wait 5 days to travel 16 miles to collect it from the courier depot myself or pay extra to have it delivered on a Saturday.

Also EE did not return my phone in the packaging I used to send to them (which was the original iPhone box) but just in a padded envelope so it could have suffered damage as a result of the way they packed it.

Needless to say there was nothing wrong with my phone and I have just got £125 for it from my local Cash Generator store!

There seems to be a reoccurring theme here and I now wish I had read the reviews before sending my phone away to EE Recycle.

Like others, I was quoted £100 for my iPhone 5S 16GB and received my posting pack within days. Like others (I'm sure), I removed my phone from its protective casing and removed the screen protector to reveal a phone in perfect condition. I then sent it away in the pre-paid envelope expecting there to be no issues.

Within 48 hours, I received an email from EE to explain ('explain' is an exaggeration) that whilst my quoted value was £100, my inspected value was £50 as the "Touchscreen is cracked or physically damaged and will have to be replaced".

Shocked, I immediately replied asking for further information as the photo of my phone they provided showed no signs of cracking or damage whatsoever.

The response I received was a generic/mail-merge type reply explaining a common fault with iPhone 5's and what happens when the battery gets hot and swells. Again, there was a photo of my phone riddled with Microsoft Paint Arrows - For the life of me, I still cannot see the issue!

A little shocked, and feeling a little hard done by, I called the number on the bottom of the email. When upgrading my phone, the Carphone Warehouse inspected my phone and quoted me £75 so I was more than pleased to refuse their £50 quote and request my phone back.

I was connected to their 'customer service' department who agreed to send my phone back. When I tried to explain my discontent at the waste of time (in my view if it is such common fault, why not declare it when going through the process - I note that in their T&C's it doesn't mention manufacture faults), before I could begin to explain I was met with a mumble about 'my opinion' before they hung up the phone.

I wouldn't normally be one for submitting reviews on service but I sincerely feel this is a ploy, by EE, to get the phone in their hands by offering the most competitive quote on the phone recycle market only to reduce it down once they are in receipt of the phone. I'm sure many consumers will take the £50 and run, but I would advise that they shop around. Perhaps get a quote from someone who inspects your phone in person.

In any case, stay well clear of EE Recycle!

After receiving an offer of £85.00 for my iPhone 5c, I happily sent off my 'like new' phone using the pre-paid label. A couple of days later I received an e-mail saying that the offer had now been reduced to £43.00 as the screen was damaged and needed replacing! The phone was in perfect condition when I posted it in a well padded envelope. There was a 'photo' in the e-mail but the exposure was so bad it could have been anyone's phone. Under their terms and conditions they state that if you are not satisfied with the offer they will send your phone back free of charge. Well, they completely ignored my e-mail requesting my phone back and paid me the £43 anyway! Ok the service was quick- received my money within a week but it wasn't the amount they'd originally promised and I don't believe for one minute the screen was 'damaged.' Wish I'd stuck with good old Mazuma mobile, they were offering £65 and their customer service is always exemplary. Won't make that mistake again!

When I got my new phone I received an envelope to recycle my old phone an iPhone 5s. I was offered £170 and sent phone off. Once they received my phone I was sent an email stating that my phone was badly scratched and therefore they could only offer me £85. (50% of original offer seems to be a theme in the reviews?). I asked for my phone to be returned and couldn't see any scratches. I have now received £190 from another company. So disappointed that both myself and my husband and our business account are likely to move our contracts elsewhere.

Offered £85 for my iPhone 5c which was in brilliant condition. Received an email from EE stating that the buttons didn't work and they were offering a reduced price of £43. Phone was in full working order when I sent it to them so I asked them to send it back to me, which they did. Not surprisingly, all buttons are working perfectly and I have since received the full offered price from music magpie. Absolutely disgusting service from EE

Very disappointed with EE Recycle. Got excited at first, they offered me the most (£90) out of all the recycling quotes I had obtained (even Mazuma offered less). Completed the form online and requested and waited for the recycling bag to arrive in the post. It didn't arrive. Instead I got an email saying hurry up and send the phone or the quote becomes invalid. So I replied and said I hadn't received the bag. EE said they'd extend the timescale on the quote and assured me they were posting another bag and I'd receive it in 3-5 days. EE also said I could pop into an EE store and they would value my phone and send it off for me. The EE store offered £86 but said go to Game and I'd get more. So I did and got £100 cash on the spot, without having to send the phone away!! Still not received the bag from EE. I know where it's going if I do!! So, I don't recommend EE phone recycling at all. Go to Game - they were brill.

Was offered £100 for my phone sent over Easter weekend they received on 7/4 according to Royal Mail! Revived confirmation from then on 16/4. They said id sent it too late (although it was with them 9 days before confirmation!!!!!) and it wasn't as stated!!! Which it was just has general wear and tear!!!! And they'd only give me £50!! So now I've asked them to send it me back but they don't refund the £7:25 it cost me to send the phone to them!!! DO NOT USE!!!!!!

I was sent an email on the 4th Nov to say they had received my phone but they are offering me a reduced payment of £65. On the email it said that if I was happy with the payment, if they don't hear from me within 3 working days, the money will be in my bank by today, Mon 10th November. I checked my bank this morning and the money wasn't in there. I called EE and the lady said as it was a reduced payment, they were waiting to hear from me before they processed the payment. I now have to wait a further 3 days before I get the money, even though the email said I don't need to contact them. This has been such a hassle and I wish I had sold the phone to another company.

So they gave me a good quote for my iPhone 5, sent me a paddle envelope within a day and I sent it off paying £7.15 for next day by 1pm. Thought Id hear back within a few days but 2 weeks later - nothing!! I runs them several times during the 2 weeks and kept telling me they hadn't recieved IT- royal mails tracking number kept saying come back later. After the time period was up and I could claim I rang them again and surprise they had it- they said the screen was smashed so the quite was halved. It was not smashed!!! I am fuming. Wish I had used maxima or ebay.

I can not recommend this company enough. The service was so quick and easy , within 4 working days I had received my bag, had it tested and received my cheque! & they gave me the full value they quoted me despite it having a few scratches! Wouldn't hesitate to use again.

I sent my Phone through special delivery on 31st Aug which reached them the next day and was duly signed and collected by someone. When I contacted EE, they said they haven't received it and asked me to send the tracking number. After a couple of days, they came back saying it was delivered to an old address which has now been relocated but they have a post redirecting system in place. On further investigation , they came to back to me saying it was collected by someone whom they don't even know and told they will need to get in touch with the post office. Since then they haven't got back to me inspite of me sending them numerous emails. Tried to even call them and looks like number seems to be incorrect. They have such a pathetic service. Will never use them.

Absolutely disgusted with the "service" ive received so far. Sent my handset 9 days ago via special delivery (9th), tracked as being received 8 days ago, didnt receive a confirmed valuation by three days later (13th) so telephoned to be advised that they had taken over a company and as such were dealing with some of their problems. Offered to pay the full price originally offered even before seeing the handset to help with clearing payment quicker. Advised payment would be processed on the 13th, to go into my bank very latest Monday 16th. Still no payment so telephoned to be told they would definately process it on Monday, no payment Tuesday 17th, so guess what, yes, telephoned again, to be told "so sorry we didnt do a payment run yesterday, but its definately on the list to pay today".
Wednesday 18th, am told that payment still hasnt gone through as there is a problem with financial transactions their end, and mine is one of many that hasnt gone through properly? I asked when they knew about this problem, and was told Monday!!! (I am speaking to the same person today as on Monday!) asked for my handset to be returned to me asap, told I cant have special conditions, and WHEN they have found my handset, they are to return it within their contract of 5-7 working days!
TOTAL JOKE
I dont even know if I will ever receive my handset back, or when I do, if it will be in the same condition as I sent it in.
Never again.

Great service, very easy to use and I was very happy with the valuation of my phone.

I can whole heartedly recommend them.

It couldn't be easier......register the handset, stick it in the envelope, take it to the post office then check your new bank balance in a few days time....simples

Good service took longer than I thought to send bag out to send phone back, about 3 days from request. Great quick service otherwise would definitely sell phone through Orange again
