I saw a review of the Churchman on YouTube and couldn't believe such a pen was available at that price. I've bought a few fountain pens recently from Pelikan and this Italix can easily hold its own next to them. Delivered within two days of placing the order. Fantastic.

Very impressive web site for the fast fading fountain pen which is so difficult to obtain particularly in the nib size your comfortable with.

Received the pen in double quick time - it was great. I did order the wrong size nib so asked if I could return it and swap it for another - yes they replied and at no extra cost. So I sent it off last week (20th) and didn't hear anything which worred me a bit. Well, good old Royal Mail still haven't delivered it to Mr Pen (it's now the 25th). Very worrying so I let Mr Pen/P J Ford know this. They are sending a replacement nib out to me today even though they've not received the first one I sent back. How good is that?

I bought a Parsons Essential pen plus ink, and was really pleased with the service. They came the next day, very well packaged so there no breakages. The en itself is everything I hoped it would be, really nice to write with. I don't write so much nowadays, as it's mostly scribbled notes, or writing on a computer, which has meant my writing has become really sloppy, so I bought a new fountain pen to help me get used to writing neatly again. It's always a pleasure using a 'proper' pen, rather than a ballpoint, so thank you for the speedy service!

The website a little dated and limited, but don't let that put you off!

I placed an order on a Sunday afternoon and within five minutes received an e-mail stating that my order had been shipped. Outstanding!

The only negative for me is that the only way to pay is through paypal and, for whatever reason, I always have difficulty when using paypal. I normally avoid sites which only use this paypal service, but the quality of merchandise and customer service is worth putting up with paypal.

I ordered an Italix Captain's Commission fountain pen, and it only took about 8 days to receive it in Taiwan!
The pen looks gorgeous, and the nib is super smooth!
I highly recommend this pen and the company to my friends here in Taiwan.

The product itself (Italix Parson's Essential) is an excellent pen and amazing value. Only slight down side is that the engraving is very shallow. However, they are very clear about this on the website so no complaints on that front either.

I would heartily recommend Mr Pen and may well buy some more pens from them.

As a fountain pen fan I have used fountain pens every day for over 30 years but only found Mr Pen about two years ago. Since then I have purchased several pens from Mr. Pen and the service has been perfect on each occasion. Queries via phone and email were responded to really quickly, on many occasions within minutes, an absolute masterclass in customer service!

As for the products themselves, the Parson's Essential is a truly wonderful pen with perfect weight and balance whether I use it posted or unposted. It is beautiful to look at and hold and the amber model can only be described as an absolute stunner, with the marbling effect making it a look like a timeless timless classic that has been around for decades.

I have also bought the Parson's Essential in blue marble and in black and have different nib options for them. Regardless of which pen and nib I use, whether it's a medium italic, plain medium or fine italic they are all a complete pleasure to write with, the nibs are the smoothest I have used and the ink just seems to flow effortlessly across the page, no catching or digging into the paper and the pens write first time, every time. I just wish I could write more each day. What has impressed me most with each purchase is that I had 30 days to give the nib a trial run and if I wanted to change it I could send it back for a free replacement, which I have done twice and on each occasion the replacement arrived within a few days of me posting the nib back. One simply cannot get better service than that.

I have yet to buy the Churchman's Prescriptor and the Captain's Commission and am looking forward to the day I do. And I wonder what the name of their next pen will be?

I bought a burgundy Italix Parson's Essential from Mr. Pen - purple inks are my favourite. The pen arrived very speedily (ordered after close of business on Friday, dispatched Saturday, arrived Tuesday in an area where post often takes 1 day more than the Post Office ideal) and looks wonderful.

I selected the italic fine nib because I was beginning to suspect that the Lamy 1.1 nib I was using was a bit too broad. The Italix is a wonderfully smooth writer so far (I've only had it a week). The one surprise for me was that the nib writes much wetter than the Lamy nib I have so that it appears on the papers I use as laying down a BROADER line rather than finer than the Lamy 1.1 nib. Just goes to show that the reviews are right - comparing between nib manufacturers can give suprising results!

Hasn't stopped me enjoying using the pen. I'm just using it a bit differently from how I had imagined I would.

We have bought from Mr Pen before and had no hesitation in using his service again when buying a gift for a relative's 60th birthday. The owner, Mr Ford, gave very helpful advice for the engraving and answered a query from my husband at the same time regarding the purchase of a nib. We had the pen engraved and delivered the next day. Highly recommended.

I recently purchased two fountain pens from Mr. Ford, a "Parson's essential" and a "Captain's Commission". Having specified two fine cursive italic nibs, I was very pleased to get an email less than an hour later to let me know that the pens were already on their way at 14:45.This was on a Monday afternoon, The box containing the pens arrived with me at 07:30 on Wednesday morning, in the Republic of Ireland.I was immediately impressed with the quality of the pens.The "Parsons's essential" wrote in a manner that put every one of my collection of Fountain pens to shame.The nib sang across the page and made writing with it a real pleasure.My Pelikan,Sailor, Stipula and Mont Blanc pens have been put away in their boxes.I found the fine cursive Italic nib on The "Captain's Commission" to be too fine and returned it and had it replaced with a medium straight Italic which I find to be exactly what I wanted.The standard of service is second to none.I would not normally write a review , but found that the quality of both the Pens and the service warrants a wholehearted recommendation.

THE WEBSITE WAS EASY TO NAVIGATE, EACH PEN HAD A VERY IN DEPTH DESCRIPTION, WEIGHT, NIB TYPES ETC. IT WAS SO MUCH MORE THAN LOOKING AT A PICTURE AND HOPING IT WAS THE RIGHT SORT OF PEN....WELL DONE

This beautiful, robust fountain pen features the smoothest nib I think I've ever had the pleasure of writing with. It's also superbly balanced, solidly built, and is finished in a gorgeous black lacquer.
Built like a tank; writes like a dream. I can't recommend it highly enough.
